    This is one of those reads that I have had for a while, and it loaded on my ancient Kindle, that wasn't loading the book I was planning to read. I was very pleasantly surprised that I could not put this book down. I don't really read unless my kids are asleep so mostly at night, but this one I read throughout the entire day to finish, I just had to know what happened. It starts with getting to know how close Piper and her twin brother Jack, with another family they are like brother and sisters with the family her Mom babysat for. Lawson, Hampton, and Georgia are all just so entwined with Piper's life. Piper has been in love with Hampton since the day he saved her life when she finally tells him, She is devasted to learn he is gay. She refuses to give up on Hampton and they become the best of friends and both decide to become Drs. When Hampton gets into a relationship Pip is forced to move in with Lawson the older geeky brother who was always an overbearing jerk to Piper.
    Lawson has just moved back to town after leaving years early, He is now roomies with the one woman that he has ever loved Piper.
    Piper is made to be kinda dense in a way, even though she a doctor, shes really trusting, and a pushover. She has a good heart and would do anything for anyone. I liked her but some moments I was like girl open your eyes. Lawson, that boy had it so bad, it was obsession He had the sweetest mouth and treated Piper like a goddess. I loved it, it was a fun little adventure with some intrigue and kept me turning the pages all day.

    Lawson might have been introverted and nerdy growing up, but he was always smitten with Piper, who only seemed to have eyes for Lawson's brother. Being that Lawson felt like there was nothing he could do to get Piper to finally see him, he took off after graduation to start a job and new life in Vegas. So when Lawson returns almost a decade later, he realizes that his feelings for Piper remain unchanged. I really liked Lawson. He was a private person who tried to mind his own business and focus on work but when it comes to Piper, she's a weakness that he cannot deny. Piper on the other hand, was a little immature and selfish. It worked for her in her younger age, but in this current time while she's completing a medical residency, it seemed off putting with how inconsiderate and messy she could be as a roommate and then bratty in her behavior. I actually would've preferred someone else for Lawson. But his heart wanted her and when she finally realized it, I will admit that Piper grew up and actually become more girlfriend worthy. There's an undercurrent of suspense thrown in and that added to Lawson's appeal because he's come a long way from Piper's impression of him as a kid and he's protective of his loved ones above all else.

    This was my first time reading A.S. Teague and I was truly amazed at how awesome this story was. Lawson and Piper grew up together. They were part of 5 kids growing up together, Lawson, Hampton and Georgia Reed along with the Nanny's kids Piper and Jack (twins). Lawson fell for Piper when they were very young. She always believed he hated her and she was in love with Hampton. In their teens tragedy struck creating more of a rift. He left for Vegas and never looked back, Piper finds out that Hampton is gay.
    Years later Lawson is sent back home for his job. Piper is living with hampton and doing medical intern at hospital. Hampton eloped and tells Piper she needs to move out. One thing leads to another and Piper and Lawson are stuck living together. Piper ends up in a serious jam that could cost her her medical license. Lawson helps. They admit their feelings. Truths come out. Happy ending for most.
    A well blended story with suspense, tragedy, heartbreak, forgiveness, family and love.

    I LOVED this book!

    It's the first book that I've read from this author but I love a good second chance love story so I thought to myself, hey, I'm game, and jumped right in as soon as I bought it. This story has a nice twist, since it's the guy that has been pining for the girl rather than the other way around and I found myself in the middle of a book that I could hardly put down. Lawson Reed has been in love with Piper Kelley since he was 12 years old and she was 8 but his brother was the focus of Piper's affection. So after college, Lawson takes off for a job in Las Vegas and doesn't return until his job brings him back years later.

    This book is considered a stand alone but I really fell in love with the characters and the story line and so I looked to see what else this author has written. I was really excited to see one of her other books has Lawson's little sister (and Piper's best friend) Georgia Reed, as one of the main characters so I'm guessing that more of A.S. Teague's books are in my future.

If you are looking for an amazing childhood friends to lovers book that will make you swoon and wish you had a guy like Lawson in your life, I highly recommend this one!

    I really enjoyed this book, it was a super fast easy read and just what I needed.

    I really loved the characters in this book, their family bond was beautiful, two families that loved each other like one huge family. They had each others backs and really looked out for each other.

    The friendship between Piper and Hampton growing up was so special, everyone needs a friendship like theirs. Even though she was secretly in love with him, she kept that hidden and took the brotherly love he gave her instead.

    Jack!! Poor Jack, I was devastated when he had the accident and cried real tears for him. Though of course that brought forward the first of many twists in this book. 

    If you are looking for a book full of love then this is definitely for you.
