While on vacation, Hayden Blake and his ex-boyfriend get into an ugly argument. Needing some space, Hayden storms out of their rented cabin and gets not only lost it in the dense woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but injured as well. Being rescued is a miracle, but being rescued by a man who looks like a Norse god wearing plaid—that's a dream come true.

All Kurt Jorgenson wants is to go hunting and bag a sizable deer, but instead he finds Hayden Blake, a city boy lost in Kurt’s forest. He takes Hayden home to care for his injuries, but Kurt finds himself drawn in ways he hadn’t dreamed existed to the young man he’s rescued and installed in his spare bedroom.

Kurt yearns to be everything Hayden needs but he doesn't know where to start. Hayden desires Kurt and longs for a home, but he's not sure he has anything worthwhile to offer in return. However, with the help of a nosy librarian, a trip to Walmart, a pig named Wilbur, and cops bribed with cheese, Kurt and Hayden may find their way to a well-deserved happy ending.

Wild By Nature is a 36k romance novella with a displaced twink, a confirmed bachelor, improper library behavior, pasties, shirtless wood chopping, fuzzy cows, and gas station pizza. It contains men falling in love, falling into bed, and just falling. Not necessarily in that order.

    I loved Kurt and Hayden’s story. This author is one of my favorites, and this novella brought everything I love about her writing. It was sweet, steamy and sexy AF. I absolutely adored Hayden. I loved the way Daddy Thor went outside his comfort zone to learn more about how to be with Hayden. Oh! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing Princess Bride references as well! Oh! If you first picked this up as the giveaway? You’ll want to grab another look. The author added an expanded epilogue. Shorts are so hard because you’re left wanting more, and I feel this was just the perfect ending. I wasn’t left needing to have more, but happy with the end! This is a must read for some hot first time Daddy goodness!

    but shouldn't we expect a little more from an author?
    Chris was ridiculous and totally unrealistic. It's very "after-school-special" to have the bad guy be so bad. In real life, people are more nuanced then that. Every time Hayden recapped their break up it was something else. Was is that Chris wanted an open relationship or did he treat Hayden like his property? Take your pick. Hated the library scene.
    The relationship was also based 100% on convenience. Hayden needed a place to live and Kurt finally met his first forward gay man. Boom. Match made in heaven?

    I am a huge fan of Lynn Van Dorn. Her writing style is so clean, and so tight that every word matters. This novella (while not my preferred length) is perfect for this story and the epilogue is the perfect ending. These two characters met their person in each other and the HEA is definitely believable.

    I wasn't sure if I was going to like Hayden at first, but as his relationship with Kurt grew, so did my appreciation for him as a young-acting, sassy 20-something-year-old brat. Also, this is a daddy kink story which I generally avoid, although it worked in this tale. Kurt's ability to be open, and his willingness to learn and do research is swoon-worthy and were my favorite parts of this story. And the sex is smoking' hot.

    I enjoyed this book. It was a nice, short read to kind of cleanse my pallet between a longer series I've been reading. It's fast paced and low on angst and conflict. And it's actually written quite well except for a couple character names being spelled wrong, and mixing up which character POV was being written (or accidentally saying Kurt when it should have been Wilbur, the pig, lol).

    I'm a sucker for the rescue trope, especially when it's paired with a remote/wilderness setting, and forced proximity. Their relationship is sweet and hot, and I enjoyed the mild exploration and daddy k!nk. The epilogue was a perfect ending topped with a bow.

    Lynn is great at wonderful characters. I like Kurt a lot, I think I’d like to hang out with him, and Hayden is, snarky and sweet in character, like a cross between Tyler from Damage Control and the young fellow at the phone store. This is a sweet story and that’s what I liked most about it.
