Without Consequence (Babylon MC Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 908 ratings

After five years of solitude, Drew Tucker, the grieving, sadistic president of The Hounds of Babylon MC is finally out of prison with only one thing on his mind: revenge for the death of his brother.

But everything has changed since he left the small town of Babylon, Texas, and where he once owned the world around him, he now feels misguided, misplaced, and misunderstood. That only gets worse when he crosses paths with Ayda Hanagan, legal guardian to her teenage brother.

Over worked and underpaid, she’s clinging to her sanity by the skin of her teeth. She should be easy for Drew to beat down and manipulate. She should be easy to keep quiet. She should definitely be easy to forget.

Determined to stay on the road he was born to travel and reign supreme once more, Drew is willing to fight whoever gets in his way, even the blue-eyed blonde who seems to have more mouth than sense. His actions are about to shake up the whole damn town, and Drew doesn’t care whether that comes with or without consequences.

Or what the hell that means for the likes of Ayda Hanagan.

this story was extremely amazing that had me dazzled and memorized at times, it was highly intense and full of drama and action, the story line was well develop and strong and was able to keep your focus and interest. I loved that it was done in an duel pov, which I feel is what gives you that ability to connect with a character, specially when you a privy to their emotions as their story occurs, and has much as I love Ayda for her strength, courage and back bone, I do have to admit that at the beginning I was a little taken back by Drew and his lack of feelings or more to the point, his lack of human compassion, specially after the way he acted with Ayda in the scene at the diner after they first meet the night before, and even though after awhile he seemed to come around and given the fact that he has is own demons to fight, and some pretty heavy guilt he has about the lose of a loved one, that has him questioning who he is, and everything around him, I get this vibe that his seem to be given off that has me some what confused at times, and not knowing half the time what state of mind he is in or weather his pissed, angry, mad etc...other wise I would say he is your supreme hot-badass-no-messing-around-in charge-alpha, but one thing is clear for sure, He never thought he could feel love other then what he felt for his brothers, so what he is feeling now for Ayda is making him seem more like a tough guy, that acts like a fish out of water..lol., which I feels makes the story line and drama more intensive and heighten the overall action of the story, I also feel that this was so different in terms of other MC stories I read, making this such a unique and original 5 star read, that was like a breathe of fresh air, truly awesome story <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Idk there was not a lot of defining moments in their relationship that would really render drew as a good person or even as someone she would be romantically interested in, besides sex. That seems to be the foundation of their relationship right now. I get they are both essentially broken, but even in their twisted remains I'm not seeing the moment when these two or even really seeing the little moments that would have really pushed for their love story I guess. It feels like this is just lust driving her decisions which is crazy bc she seems like a character that's not only strong willed but has a good head on her shoulders. Deeks is by far my favorite character and shall anything happen to my man I'll riot lmao

Ayda has not been dealt an easy hand in life. She has given up her dreams for the future so that she can support both herself and her 15 year old brother Tate after the death of her parents. The last thing she needs is for a sexy biker to come to her door with her brother in tow looking for repayment.

Drew has recently finished his five year sentence in prison and is trying to reclaim both his life and his MC. When a teenager tries to steal from his club an example needs to be set even if it Ayda that needs to pay it.

Tate knows that they are struggling financially, and he thought this would be the solution to their problems. When Drew confronts Ayda about her brother the sparks fly and neither of their lives will ever be the same. This is the first book I have read by this author but the storyline is full of suspense, steam and emotion and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I am newer to MC books and let me tell you I want in. I want to go out today, buy a motorcycle and get into one of these clubs ASAP. When I read the blurb, I knew I had to read this book. It seemed really intense and it did not disappoint me at all. The authors wrote this book with such passion and it shines through on the pages. They both must have put in a lot of research into this lifestyle because it was so detailed and precise.

Without Consequence is the story of Drew and Ayda. I honestly fell in love with both of these characters. Drew is a badass, he is troubled and is just trying to figure out life with his MC. Ayda is trying to figure out life, but in a totally different way. She has a younger brother she is caring for and she is working herself into the ground. Despite that she has this don't take no s$#! attitude and I absolutely love that about her.

Drew and Ayda wind up crossing paths because of her brother and a stunt that he tries to pull. This stunt is what leads Drew and Ayda to meeting. From that first meet up on I was on the edge of my seat. Drew tries to intimidate her and she isn't having it. Drew isn't used to anyone not being intimidated by him and it puts him on edge. Despite being not quite sure what to make one another there is this underlying attraction that they both feel towards one another so he makes her a deal. He won't do anything with her brother, but she is to pay his debt.

These two feel each other out throughout her trips to The Hut and I enjoyed reading every second of their journey. There were moments I cringed, moments I laughed, and who doesn't enjoy reading those steamier moments? Without Consequence is a great turn paging read that will hook you in from the beginning and leave you wanting more. I'm onto book 2!

I struggled to finish this book. No real poor to develop. Drew (MMC) was selfish with very few redeeming qualities. Reading him processing his emotions was like teaching a toddler how to identify thoughts, feelings and how to properly expression that those emotions. He gave off an ick feeling especially when he staged an orgy with a 15 yo boy and some "Hound Hos" just to get the FMC attention. I liked the FMC she was witty , emotionally developed and strong. The side characters were basic filler. Absolutely no steam perhaps a small mist if I were to be generous. I literally stopped to feed my dogs in the middle of the only smexy scene and forgot about it til the next day. Overall this book was boring and I can't imagine the series getting more interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT MC ROMANCE
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 9, 2018

As MC books go this is pretty high up there with my favorites.

My first book by both these authors.

Without Consequence is what I call a quality read, 49 chapters containing highs, lows, angst, drama, in fact, there aren't many books where you get not just the meat of a story but the bones of the story and characters too.

I think the only other MC books I have said that about was Cat Porter who also leaves no stone unturned with the plot and you feel like you have been through one heck of a ride with the characters, have read a good quality book and more than that a money's worth kind of read and this is how I feel about Without Consequence.

    A bit about the characters;
Drew Tucker is a feared man, he came across as a loose cannon, a man with a reputation, letting his temper get the better of him and later regretting his actions, going solo for revenge instead of including his brothers.

You first meet Drew when it's time for his release from a five-year stint in prison.
Following on from his release although back with his club he's feeling lost, being back reminds him even more of the best friend he lost the night he was also arrested.

Ayda comes into the story, a struggling one parent carer for her fifteen-year-old brother.
Ayda and Tate's parents died a few years ago in a bank robbery leaving Ayda to pick up the pieces along with her new role as Tate's mum, dad, sister, and carer all in one as well as working three jobs.

Drew and Ayda first meet when Drew brings Tate back home after finding him in the club looking for money.

Drew was once a man who would not let that go, Tate would have died for his actions by the hands of pre-prison Drew but Drew had changed since his release and he gave Ayda a way out by letting her clean at the club as a penance for her brother's crime.

I was glued to the pages with this slow build romance.

As MC reads go this was different to most I have read. I think I counted three sex scenes that weren't really in depth or with descriptive acts. There weren't many foul-mouthed horny Alphas knocking around the MC but there was a rival club and drama concerning that. The main focus was on Ayda and Drew struggles separately and together.

What I liked about this was the gradual build up, the getting to know each other stages with the characters, the breaking down of walls and barriers and then finally letting each other be free with their feelings.
Drew was a man who didn't understand connections, understand emotion, sympathy or love and it was like Ayda became his new tutor and voice of reason.

Great read and I will look forward to the next book.

Told in first persons dual pov, sort of leads to a hea, the club is on the brink of war but with regards to the characters, I did reach a happy sigh at the end for them.

Based in Babylon, Texas, this story tells the story of 2 totally opposite people, Ayda and Drew, two persons who weren’t meant to meet each other, though fate has other plans for them.
To sum up, Ayda is a young 25 years-old woman whose parents are dead and who has 3 jobs to support her younger brother, Tate, and herself. As for Drew, he is a tough and bad guy who is released from prison, where he just has spent 10 years (I will let you read to know why😉 – same goes for how they meet :P )
I loved this story for many reasons
the place. Being a Frenchie and having never visited Texas, I like that the story occurs there. People live differently than in a big city, so it’s pretty nice to see the connection between the people, which we don’t really have in other books
the characters. They did an outstanding job with characters. You are going to meet many characters – the main characters of course, but also other more secondary, yet who are really important to shape the protagonists – Drew’s friends, Ayda’s coworkers/boss … They all play an important role, either on what they bring to the main characters, or their involvement in the relationship between the two of them
Victoria and LJ described them amazingly, both physically but also their feelings, what’s in their mind, and their actions also reflect who they really are deep inside. As you read, you can easily connect to the characters and you feel like you are a bit with them !
the plot. I absolutely LOVED how the love story is created and evolves. It is full of twists, tension and the way they write it is raw, real and pretty brilliant ! Left me speechless more than once ! Both protagonists have a very dark past and in finding each other, they find a soul mate, a lover, and can heal their wounds still wide open. This is my favourite part of the book – how one is a kind of therapy for the other, how love can change and heal someone. I couldn’t stop reading – trust me, you will want to know what’s happening next and how this all will end !
What also kept me glued to the book was that it is not only a love story, but it’s also a drive in a dangerous environment, with rival groups, people being killed, attacked … and those action scenes were absolutely breathtaking ! So much suspens (and blood!) I truly would qualify this book as a thriller/procedural with a love story mingled within.
the writing. They truly have a way to write that is beautiful ! The choice of words, the little hints of humor, the stunning sentences they use when describing what is happening in the mind of the protagonists… Also, each chapter is seen through the eyes of a different character, and I enjoyed this !

All in all, Without Consequence was a fantastic first book for the Babylon Series. If you like action, love, suspens, this is for you and I’m truly looking forward to read Mercy, the second book of the serie. I want to know how this love story is gonna end, and what is going to happen after. Many questions remain without an answer and I’m sure these two amazing authors will surprise us once more in the second book.

Great read. I loved Ayda. She was a real women, not a damsel or naive 20 something girl who wins the Insta love of the bad boy. She makes choices and owns them. Drew is as a slow burn for me but I’m the end I loved him. Looking forward to the next one in this series.

This is my new favorite series. A well woven story. A sassy and realistic heroine and a swoonworthy guy. Even though I wouldn't want to share my life with a murderer in my real life, it seems kinda normal in this genre, that bikers have a rough life and blood on their hands. 😁😁 So this is what books are for..... Leave reality and live the dream. Can't wait to read the next one.....
