Eric Michael Craig is a Science Fiction author living in the Manzano Mountains of New Mexico. It has been said that Eric writes "intelligent science fiction" where the characters and story come first, and a believable science foundation provides the backdrop to the action. Before he retired from the corporate world, Eric was the Director of Research for a private consulting laboratory where he learned how to explain science in ways that could be understood even by those who weren't technically oriented.
When not writing, Eric plays guitar and bass and occasionally dabbles in art of various forms.
He also owns way too many dogs, and as a result, is often involved in heroic battles with mountains of dog hair.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2021Well, I enjoyed that immensely!
First there is the ***Spoiler Deleted***
And then ***Spoiler Deleted***
I still don’t consider this ‘hard science fiction’ if for no other reason than ***Spoiler Deleted***
While the mere scale of these works seem to rival TLOTR et al, it is not nearly as dark and is significantly less disturbing ( as it is read ). There is much to be said for a light hearted story-teller that inserts comedic relief into the narrative. It is no less fantastical considering the ***Spoiler Deleted***
Most other endless book-series that sustain themselves on repetitive cliff-hanger-serialism are really quite grim as there is no resolution and no escape. Unlike ***Spoiler Deleted***
I also strongly approve of this return to ‘nearly’ faultless editing and punctuation!
It is clear that there was/is an extensive group of supporters and beta readers involved, here.
Best of all it ends on a ***Spoiler Deleted***
- Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2020Author Eric Michael Craig has done it again. In the continuing escapades of Captain Ethan Walker and the crew of the Olympus Dawn, I once again found myself struggling to put the book down and stayed up way too late to finish. My only complaint is having to wait for the next book to see how the resourceful captain and crew can survive in the universe the author has created. It's expansive, creative, filled with rivalries and factions, and high tech weapons, propulsion, and other sophisticated applied-physics gadgets that never fail to amaze. This is book seven in the Wings of Earth series. Keep 'em coming--this level of entertainment is worth bleary eyes and sleep deprivation. Highly recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2024This book picks up a bit after the last, but almost immediately there's a twist....Captain Ethan Walker finds himself changing from simple freighter captain to fugitive renegade. He's gradually learning how to use his new tech and the new tech that's been installed into his ship.
Turns out there's a government agency out there that is NOT a fan of this, however. She kidnaps Walker's crew and family and demands he either turn himself over or she'll kill them all.
Another excellent book in the series, again fleshing out the universe the author has constructed a bit more. Perhaps a bit darker than before, but still very recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2021Just finished reading this series and was hooked from the first book. This is one of the best series I have had the pleasure of reading it is full of action and suspense. If you like action packed science fiction then you must read this series the author writes so well that you feel you know the characters in the story so well like they are family and friends. I hope that there is more in the series coming.
