Hawthorne has done it again with her second book in the Giving Consent series. At the end of Worth the Risk, we discover a secret between Jack and Callum. Meeting online and in need of a "Daddy," Callum is messaged by Jack, and they agree to their online relationship. Circumstances occur and Jack arrives at Rapture to stand face to face with none other than Callum.Angsty as a deep love story develops, I found myself unable to put it down. The whole story makes it truly Worth the Wait.

They built the foundation of a relationship over the months that they spend communicating online. But with no changes to their schedule, even though they are now within the same city, Daddy Jack decides he wants to date Callum. Prove to him that he's worth caring about. But Callum's insecurities and trust issues, due to his emotionally abusive ex, has to decide if daddy really is worth losing now because he's scared of losing him later. I absolutely love Daddy Jack and his kitten, Callum. Sweet, hot, and couldn't put it down. A great second book to the series. I can't wait to read the next book. Would I recommend this book? Yes. Would I read it again? Yes.

    Callum is tired of navigating dating, not even sure what he is looking for. He decides an online relationship might give him what he needs with none of the risks of dating. Finding Jack online gets him what he wants, almost. The yearning need he feels for Jack takes over his life.

    Jack isn’t looking for any thing serious, just somebody to fulfill his need to be a daddy. Jack is afraid to take what they have into real life but Callum is a gift he didn’t expect. Their long distance relationship intensifies.

    Unexpected circumstances bring them them together. Causing Jack to first pursue Callum then push him away.

    Callum may have become my favorite personality by the author. He is such a sweet, needy, and loving person. I just wanted him to be happy. Another great book leaving me wanting more of all the characters in the series.

The story starts with online dating and moves through long distance angst to face to face meeting and love. This one has very light bdsm and is much more into caring and light discipline although Callum is not a little. It is not necessary to have read the first book to totally enjoy this one, but there are characters here who appeared in the first book and the carry through of old friends was fun - I actually liked this one better than the first one.     3.5 Stars! For a romance with this much kink, the love story is really sweet. Well. Really the sweetness makes since in Daddy Kink book where care taking is at the heart of the dynamic.

    Callum is achingly lonely and it turns out so it Jack. They meet online and have a pretty intense connection until long distance just isn't enough for either hero.

    We get some nice pansexual rep and delightful look at LA.

    I like both heroes and the circle of friends. I wish we had much more back story on both of them to make this a really amazing book but it is a good read.

    Everyone has a past, and everyone has their own issues. Finding someone you can share those with, who understands when you need to talk and when you don't, because you just can't, is priceless. It's such an amazing gift to know you can share, but you can also keep your memories to yourself if you need to, because that is how you deal. Sometimes talking doesn't help, because it doesn't fix anything. It never makes it better. You just relive it again, and many times you do that enough in your own mind, you don't need another added on top of those. These stories are great, relatable, and with the right amount of angst, drama, and strife. Looking forward to book #3.     Ok, so I’ll be honest - sometimes stories like this are a little too much for me but my god this is a good one!!! This was exactly what I was looking for - Callum and Jack fell in love online, the draw and pull of each other and needing to bring themselves together to be more was something that was palpable.

    Callum was much more sure than Jack. Not that he was sure about what he felt, but he was much more secure in the idea that he wanted Jack and that Jack wanted him. Jack had so many fears that he wouldn’t be enough for Callum if they met and in a Daddy relationship that’s really tricky and Kate Hawthorne handled that self doubt really well!

    Sweet and steamy, grab this one today! You won’t regret it - and now I think I may even need to read the rest of the series if the emotional aspects are as well delivered as this one was! Excellent read!

    Callum Jardine wünscht sich eine Beziehung, aber so eng und physisch soll sie dann doch nicht sein. Der junge Barkeeper versucht sein Glück online und wird tatsächlich fündig. Im fernen New York gibt es einen Mann, der Interesse bekundet eine Online-Beziehung zu führen und auch noch Callums unerforschten Sehnsüchte befriedigen könnte.

    Dieser Mann ist Jack Martin. Er ist etwas älter als Callum und hat sich sein Leben behaglich eingerichtet. Jedoch wird es langsam einsam um ihn herum, da seine Freunde aus New York fort ziehen und er sich nicht so leicht tut neue Freundschaften zu knüpfen. Diese Online-Beziehung zu Callum erscheint sehr reizvoll, da auch Jack sich nur ungern aus seiner Komfort-Zone bewegt. Doch Jack hat nicht gedacht, dass dieser junge Mann ihn so faszinieren könnte und dass Callum für ihn immer begehrenswerter wird. So sehr, dass Jack vielleicht doch den Sprung aus der virtuellen Welt wagen möchte......

    Teil zwei der Serie hat zum Glück nicht lange auf sich warten lassen und schließt mehr oder weniger nahtlos an den ersten Teil an. Im ersten Teil der Geschichte erfährt man jedoch noch genauer wie Jack und Callum sich kennenlernen. Wie ihre Beziehung über eine App beginnt, sich vertieft und Jack ganz in seiner Daddy-Rolle aufgeht.

    Callum hat ein Vertrauensproblem und wählt diesen Weg um nicht alleine zu sein. Mit der Zeit wird die Sehnsucht nach Jack fast zu groß, doch dieser will nichts überstürzen und kommt nur langsam aus seiner bequemen Welt heraus. Aber dann erkrankt Jack schwer und der Kontakt reißt plötzlich zu Callum ab. Dieser versteht die Welt nicht mehr und wird neuerlich von seinen Selbstzweifel und Unsicherheiten geplagt.

    Sehnsüchtig habe ich auf diese Geschichte gewartet und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Während die Protagonisten des ersten Teils noch ein wenig anstrengend waren, konnten Callum und Jack absolut überzeugen. Ich war schon von der ersten Seite an überzeugt und fast ein wenig verliebt in diese zwei Helden. Ihre Beziehung wächst langsam und ruhig; vor allem Callum lernt sehr viel und Jack geht ganz in seiner Rolle auf. Doch auch als sie dann auch physisch zusammen kommen, wird die Geschichte sehr harmonisch und glaubwürdig erzählt - auch wenn ich persönlich jetzt nichts mit dem Daddy-Kink anfangen kann.

    This was an incredible story. It was the perfect mix of kink, emotion, angst, love and care taking. Daddy Jack is just.....amazing!! And kitten, well, Callum is the most adorable character. The dynamic between the two of them was perfect. I loved seeing Landon and Verity in this book too. The series just keeps getting better. And I can't forget to mention that the writing is superb.
