Wrapping Up: A Rainier Family Novel Kindle Edition
Sometimes being a Rainier fricking sucks. Even if you don't want their help, someone in the family is bound to butt in with their expert advice. This time, it's my cousin Clary trying to "help" me with my campaign for Umberland Town Council. He wants me to tone down the gay; specifically, my attraction to Eli, the nurse in the care clinic.
I’m way more concerned about getting Eli back to my place—and in my life for good. I’ve never been with a man in my life—but Eli is different. He might even be The One. My soulmate. The forever partner I never knew I needed.
I don’t know how to convince Eli that I’m not just messing around, but I’m sure as hell going to try. Every second I spend with him makes me want to turn the dial way up on the all the gay and tell Eli he’s the one I want to grow old with.
Screw the political campaign. The only cause I care about is Eli Sanders.
Eli:
It's tough to have secrets in a small town—especially when they come back to haunt you. And this time, my secret might ruin my relationship with Garrett Rainier.
Whenever I look into his earnest, deep green eyes, I’m so excited and terrified, my heart could burst. I’ve never opened up to anyone. I’ve never been in love like this. But Garrett might not want someone like me, someone with a past like mine.
After all that I’ve been through, I want to sink into Garrett and let him love me. I want those lips against mine, tender and sweet. And I just might want them every day of the rest of my life. But does that love even count, if he doesn’t know who I truly am?
Loving me could cost Garrett anything; it could ruin his life and everything he holds dear. I’m not sure I can resist, but the price might just be too high.
Wrapping Up is the sixth book in the Rainier Family series and can be read on its own. 62k words of toe-curling, gay-for-you, angst-ridden love, more Rainiers than you can shake your stick at, and a whole big, bustling, small-town family waiting for its HEA.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2019This is actually the first Rainier book in the series that I’ve read, so if you haven’t read them all before this one, have no worries, you get just enough background for this story, and none of it slows it down. It’s a small town filled with two families, their extended relatives, and typical small town happenings. One of the MC’s works as a nurse in a local clinic, and has his ugly past thrown back in his face. The other MC is the local policeman who’s discovering his sexuality. Women just don’t cut it. It’s a fun, light read, with a good plot.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2019I liked this story. The pacing was consistent and flowed really well. I hadn't paid attention to how long it was and I was shocked with how far I had gotten since it flowed so nicely. Everything moved well and there weren't any slow spots for me. Eli had many doubts and reservations, but could get himself out of the negative mindset when he reminded himself about how much he trusted Garrett. I appreciate that the guys paid attention to each other and didn't over think what other people said.
I have been enjoying this series. While you don't need to read the previous books I the series, you should just because they are some good stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2019Two very fine men get together when Craig a young man vandalizes the greenhouse of Garrett, part of the Rainier family. The police call Eli, a nurse who has taken it upon himself to be Craig's helper so he's on the list to be called. There is when a friendly relationship begins between them. Eventually one thing leads to another with a few surprises included. All in all a very good book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2019I almost ditched this one, but I didn’t have anything else going on, so I finished it. The most original thing about it was that I thought it was going to be a gay-for-you story and it ended up switching early on into a bi or pan story. I thought it ended very abruptly, but I guess Cade had said all she was going to. The characters were pretty bland, but the election story was moderately entertaining-until it just ended. There were a few fairly minor proofreading issues. This was middle-of-the-road for KU, but I wouldn’t purchase it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2019I love the Rainier boys. I can't get enough of this family or their stories. There are a lot more stories to come, I hope.
Garrett is really interesting. I like that he didn't really want to label himself as gay, straight, bi, whatever. I think, personally, from what he says, that he's pansexual, and if he is, that's pretty cool, because we don't necessarily see a lot of pan characters. I may be wrong, but that's my opinion, at least. I really like how he is a mix of practical and impractical. Pratical in that he has a vision for what he's like his town to be like, impractical in that he doesn't quite know how to get there. I think that he has a great sense of humor.
I love how strong Eli is. He's gone through so much and yet, he's managed to pull himself through and made something of himself. He isn't letting his past hold him back. And not just that, he's doing what he can to really give young people in bad situations a hand up so that they have more chances. I found him to be very admirable and caring.
Clary really annoyed me. I get where he's coming from, but he doesn't get how Umberland is. I thought he might be a smidge homophobic, which would really suck for him if he is, considering he's a Rainier.
I can't wait for more books in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2020I appreciated the emotional topics that were discussed throughout the story. Two wonderful Main Characters that have a beautiful relationship through their problems. Don't miss it!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2019Made up for Running Off, back to a pair that's more versatile and more story line. Definitely rooting for Garrett the whole time. Being a nurse my self I can also see Eli's points. Such a good Story though
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2019I adore the Rainier family. These boys and their family are one of my favorite go to series.
In Wrapping Up, you are brought the story of Garrett Rainier. He's pretty much flown under the radar in the series, but in this book we are also introduced to Eli, the boy Garrett can't stop thinking about. While Garrett has mostly, well, only, dated women, he can acknowledge the attraction to men, even if he has never acted on it. But with Eli, the cute nurse, he see's someone, not their sex.
Eli has had a rough past. His family kicked him out at a young age because he was gay, and he had to do what he has done to survive. He has come a long way, and is doing very well. But a person from his past threatens to destroy what he has built in the small town of Umberland.
I adored these two men together. Garrett was truly wonderful with Eli, never once passing judgment on him, and not caring what anyone else thought. He had a single minded focus, and that was Eli. It was a very sweet story!!!
