Yuletide Treasure (Goddess-Blessed Book 3) Kindle Edition
Eben Sypeman’s world is falling apart. It’s two days before Yule and his business partner is dead, leaving behind empty accounts and looming bankruptcy. And if that isn’t bad enough, his patron goddess is irritated with him. It seems she’s tired of his tendency to mince words and avoid conflict. She’s insisting—quite forcefully—that he start being totally honest with everyone, including himself. Divinely enforced honesty couldn’t have come at a less opportune time, especially when his clerk’s tall, dark and distractingly handsome son enters the picture.
The last thing on Tim Pratchett’s mind is romance. All the former soldier wants is to fill in for his sick father at work and recover from his war wounds in peace. But there’s something about the grumpy Eben that confounds and entices him in equal measure. Their timing couldn’t be worse. They’re complete opposites. And yet … none of that matters when he’s with Eben.
But if Eben and Tim have any hope of finding their very own happily ever after, they’ll have to survive a dickens of a truth curse and the machinations of a trickster goddess—all while searching for enough yuletide treasure to save them all.
A joyous, relaxing Yule indeed. Bah, humbug.
This is an M/M romance with explicit scenes, a voyeuristic pagan goddess, and an odious nephew. Despite any other possible similarities to A Christmas Carol, there are neither ghosts nor geese, but readers can expect a happy ending and at least one use of the word “dickens.”

- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2019Eben is a worn down stressed out man desperate to save his business after his partner dies unexpectedly. It seems there's no money in the bank and he has no idea what Marney did with it, Eben's got to many people depending on him he can't let his importers go bankrupt. Bob Pratchet, his clerk, takes ill and his son Timothy shows up to cover his father's work in his place.
Timothy is a veteran of the army sent home after injuring his leg, he's unable to find work because of his disability so his entire family depends on his father's wages. Unsure what to make of the almost manic Eben he tries to offer an ear and Eben damn near has a panic attack unable to accept any help or share his burden, he sends Tim home and that's that... except Eben's patron Goddess has had enough of Eben biting his tongue and depriving the world of all the wonderful snark he has hidden deep in his soul and gives him the glorious gift of being unable to lie and the freedom to cut odious people deeply with his tongue luckily Timothy is there to act as muscle to discourage retaliation.
Well I don't know what kind of divine intervention led me to Eliot Grayson's Goddess series but thank you, these are so my jam!
This was a cozy quick read that had some moments of melancholy quickly chased away by bright moments of warmth and happiness. Make no mistake despite grim moments this is a feel good holiday story that left me grinning ear to ear. Light on the steam but that was so ok. I loved both of the MC's Eben really was just trying to do good and was in over his head and Timothy was kind and for the most part patient.

MMy Thoughts and Review:
What the Dickens is goin' on at this little import house? One of the partners has died...failed to yield to a runaway cart. Must have been jay walking or maybe tipsy talking and reading texts from the latest Goddesses "R" US journal.
Either way, he's left his young business partner holding the empty purse strings on their business. Young Eben is frantically trying to find where all the monies have gone and none of the ledgers seem to be matching up. If he doesn't find the missing money soon be will find himself bankrupt and goddess knows what will come of his elderly parents, or of Pratchett, the company's clerk, and his family.
Pratchett's son, Timothy is recently home from the army where he was wounded. Now he walks with a cane and is in pain quite often from nerve damage in his leg. But, Timothy is a strong man in spirit and stature and refuses to stand down when he can help his family.
Timothy goes to Eben to offer services in place of his father, who is sick. The two men do not hit it off very well in spite of their explosive chemistry. It takes an intervening often voyeuristic goddess and a determined soldier to break through the walls around Eben's heart.
A mystery to find the missing money ensues as Tim and Eben team up to save the business and thus their families.

I have enjoyed this series since book one came out. They are unique in their genre and they pull you gently along as each page turns. To showcase this series as Historical somehow seems wrong to me, but so do a lot of other sub-genres. It's a MM Romance - Historical - Alternate Universe - Fantasy Series! There, now that's a little better...maybe?!?😂
No matter how it is classified or categorized, at the end of the day, I think the series is one that would even make Dickens smile.💗
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review. 💋
- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2019Yuletide Treasure is a charming and romantic retelling of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with gay MCs.
Eben is shutdown and insular but he thinks about responsibility for others who rely on him. He’s learnt to keep his true self at bay, partly because he doesn’t like conflict and partly because his now deceased senior business partner was cranky and miserly, but Eben has a decent heart within. Then his goddess, Althyone, pays him a visit to help bestow her blessing and to help him understand what his future happiness, or not, could look like. How things could be different based on his actions. She’s a bit of a saucy wench, is Althyone, popping up at pervy moments. 🙂 She’s also rather direct, and wants the best for Eben, even if at first he does think it’s a curse. I liked her sass and her attitude, and it was nice to actually be familiar with Eben’s goddess. She represents what were originally the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future in A Christmas Carol.
It was ‘go big or go home’ writing when the author wrote (Tiny) Tim all grown up… and gay. I had to wrap my mind around it at first, then I loved it. He’s a rather dear character in the original and again in this version by Eliot Grayson.
There is insta-attraction, but if you can believe in a goddess popping by, supernatural elements, then quick attraction can’t be a real stretch. The sexual connection isn’t particularly steamy, there’s one scene where it is and the rest are more sensual and romantic, kissing with intent and passion included.
There is a mystery, of sorts, surrounding company funds which is also at the heart of this tale.
The prose is beautiful, never lapsing into a contemporary nature, perfectly transporting the reader to another time and place – as it should.
Delightful. Sweet. Seasonal. I give Yuletide Treasure 5 Festive Stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bah Humbug never sounded so fun!!
This was a brilliantly done take on a Christmas classic....I was riveted from start to finish. Loved the setting, characters and the entire story.
I wondered what would replace the 3 spirits and a mischievous but helpful goddess worked just as well and had me in fits of giggles - especially with the 'truth telling' period. Timothy was the perfect gift and fit for Eben.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great historical m/m series
This is a take on Scrooge that takes fun liberties with the original story. You can read it as part of the Goddess Blessed series or as an independent Christmas story. Either way it is bundles of fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Christmas Story, based on Scooge.
This is a charming Christmas story based on Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol.'
It's a sweetly satisfying romance, which will put you in the right mood for Christmas. Timothy and Eban are both likeable - Timothy from a fairly humble background and Eban, who appears to be all about the money, but who is actually hiding a worrying secret.
I liked the way the author did this. All of the usual suspects were there, and played their part in the story. This is both an interesting and entertaining book to read. However, I didn't really understand the whole fairy godmother aspect, it's really not explained and left me puzzled.
Still, a decent seasonal tale. If you enjoy this I highly recommend Humbug by Joanne Chamber, as this too is a good book based on the original Scrooge story.
