A Christmas Kiss Kindle Edition
Sharing a late-night kiss with his best friend, Alex, is Riley’s dream come true. Waking up to discover Alex was too drunk to remember anything is more like a nightmare. Scared the truth could destroy their friendship, Riley keeps quiet and pretends nothing happened.
Alex can’t shake the feeling that he said or did something stupid on their group’s drunken weekend away—why else would Riley be avoiding him? Although the explanation he finally gets sounds plausible, Riley’s still acting strange, and trying to figure out why that is unearths emotions Alex has worked hard to bury.
Riley knows not telling Alex how he feels is probably selfish, but he wants one last normal Christmas before he has to come clean and face the potential fallout.

About the author

Annabelle Jacobs lives in the South West of England with her three rowdy children, three cats, and a very naughty black labrador.
An avid reader of fantasy herself for many years, Annabelle now spends her days writing her own stories. They're usually either fantasy or paranormal fiction, because she loves building worlds filled with magical creatures, and creating stories full of action and adventure. Her characters may have a tough time of it--fighting enemies and adversity--but they always find love in the end.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2016Miscommunication and/or lack of communication can cause so many troubles and so much heartbreak, especially during the holiday season. That's exactly what A Christmas Kiss brings us and though it's an often used cliche, when done correctly I don't mind and Annabelle Jacobs has done just that. Yes, there are moments throughout the story you just want to give both Alex and Riley a good shake or whack to their backside for not seeing what is right in front of their eyes but that was also what kept me reading. Will the BFFs finally see sense? Well, those who know my reviews know what's coming: for that you'll have to read A Christmas Kiss for yourself. A great addition to my Christmas shelf and certainly one I'll be re-reading for many holidays to come.

This book got a little annoying. Although the characters were appealing and funny, the plot was repetitive and frustrating. I don't really love books where there is angst that comes from characters being unwilling to be honest with each other or even have a simple conversation for that matter. And that is basically the entire plot of this book. Best friends, secret crushes, and no one's talkin'. Thank goodness for their meddling friends who end up facilitating the "how could we have been this stupid?" conversation. Still, some decent parts and solid writing.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2016This is a lovely, low-angst, best friends-to-lovers Christmas story. The MCs are adorable and the secondary characters are fun and interesting. Who wouldn't want to be able to pop over to a lodge on Wales? The best thing is that when you get to the end, you feel all warm and toasty :-)
- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2016I loved this quick and sweet holiday romance. I'm a sucker for stories where best friends fall for each other, then throw in the holiday aspect and you've got me hooked.
I really enjoyed all of the characters in this story. Poor Riley is too skittish to tell Alex outright how he feels, and Alex has feelings from a couple of years locked up tight as well. Their friends see it and try to nudge them along, but Riley is determined that he doesn't want to lose Alex's friendship-even if that means keeping his feelings to himself after that one try.
After that one night-that Alex doesn't remember-things get pretty strained between Riley and Alex, and when you add to the the attraction they both have for each other...that neither tells the other about aside from that drunken night...the tension level gets pretty high. But you know how these things go-sooner or later things are going to come to a head, and when they do, sparks definitely fly!
This is a wonderful, light read and even though it is a fast read time-wise, the story itself never felt rushed. It helps that Riley and Alex have already been best friends for years, setting the stage for something more right from the start.
A Christmas Kiss was a 4.5-star read for me, and I definitely recommend this to all M/M romance fans-whether or not you're looking for a holiday read. The holiday part just adds an extra bit to smile about (like the mistletoe their friends leave behind for them...). This story is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and some M/M sexual content.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2016Sometimes you make stupid decisions when you’re drunk, other times you make brave decisions (bless you liquid courage) and then there are times when you make stupidly brave decisions. Riley has been desperately in love with his best friend for the better part of two years and he makes one of those…stupidly brave impulse decisions. He kisses his best friend. *tosses confetti* To his wonderful surprise, his bestie returns the affection with vigor. All of his dreams are coming true! Until….the next morning. He awakens to discover Alex doesn’t remember their big moment. *quickly scrapes confetti into the trash* He must go back, to where they were 24 hours ago. However, that’s easier said than done.
I always enjoy best friends that blossom into boyfriends. I love the stability of an existing bond that adds the heat factor and the unnerving risk that comes along with taking ‘that chance’. It’s exhilarating and Jacobs certainly delivers a nail-biting romance.
What's to like: Great friends can be so much fun. They are so comfortable with one another that all standard boundaries melt away…there are no rules. Riley, Alex and their circle of friends are fabulous and frisky. It’s becoming obvious to everyone except Alex that Riley has developed ‘more‘ feelings for Alex. He’s slowly fallen in love with his best friend. This only has one outcome; it’s either going to be amazing or atrocious. Ready to find out?
What's to love: Forbidden fruit comes in many disguises and if you ask me, best friends is one of the best. Alex fancied Riley and pushed his feelings away. Riley fancies Alex and pushes himself to the breaking point. Self cock blocking is the worst and they both are guilty. When one shot too many brings hormones to boiling, they fall over their feet trying to woe the other. Riley still has his head and cherishes each caress and every new intimate moment. And then the ground shatters beneath him the morning after when Alex reverts to their friend only status. How could he forget? Or more precisely, how can Riley forget? Simple, he can’t. What does this mean for them? It’s either all or awkward and I’ll give you a hint….it’s both. But you knew that already, didn’t you? You don’t need me to tell you…it’s a kiss worth remembering. Poor Alex.
Beware of: The frustrations of lack of communication. If only they had ‘that’ conversation before….they could have saved each other SO much grief. But, where is the fun in that?
This book is for: If you are a sucker for besties to boyfriends and love holiday stories, you won’t want to miss out on these smooches.
