- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2023This was a super sweet, quick Christmas story. Nick loves playing Santa at the mall every year and he can't help falling, quite literally, for the new elf Charlie. As the holiday season goes on, these two get to know each other and eventually go out on a date. Nick and Charlie are adorable together. This story will make you laugh as well as tug at your heartstrings.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2022An absolutely adorable tale of Santa, his elves, and a whole lot of clumsiness.
Friendships are forged under the watchful eye of Head-Elf, while love and Christmas Magic unfolds.
A cute, clean read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2020I love Sue Brown's books and I first read this novella in Stocking Stuffers vol 1 which had a bundle of holiday stories. I grabbed this gem when it was a holiday freebie because I love Charlie-Elf and Nick. Charlie is a college-student who has a holiday job as an elf in Santa's Grotto in the mall. He needs the extra cash to pay rent and purchase gifts for his mother and sister. He starts crushing on Nick the Mall Santa when he meets him but Nick is so clumsy that Charlie-Elf keeps watching him trip over his feet or other objects. Both men are so sweet, clumsy and adorable around each other as they secretly watch the other while having to deal with a Drill Sergeant as Head Elf. Very low-angst and sweet and romantic read ;) Hilarious and funny as well.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2017This was a very cute little Christmas story that is a fairly quick read. Charlie is an elf for the Christmas Santa. He needs this job to get some bucks to get his sister and mom their Christmas presents and pay rent. Nick is the Santa. both these guys are sweet and caring men. The head elf though is a drill sergeant with an unbreakable set of rules of his own and fires anyone who breaks them. Having a good friend adds to the story and Santa's clumsiness make things a disaster at times. There is mild angst and low heat, but you don't need it to make this story a good read. Enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2017This book was so sweet.. Loved Santa and Charlie-Elf. Charlie was funny. I'm so glad he bonded with Katie-Elf. Having Santa be both hot and clumsy made for some funny moments. I couldn't wait for them to actually hook up. I actually liked that their first date wasn't perfect. It made things more interesting.
Santa was so good with the kids. He made my heart feel good. Too bad Head-Elf had to be such an arrogant jerk. Somebody should have fired him. Maybe he can get his own book and be redeemed.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2018A very cute male on male story without all the sex this one was the best little romance I've ever read very quick read a great thing to pass your time and also great ready for the holidays even if it's not Christmas. This is a story I'll probably read over again I really enjoyed it the story flowed and had really good heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheery Christmas read :)
Charlie has taken a job as an Elf in Santa’s Grotto. Enter Santa, a rather tall but clumsy man who Charlie falls for. As time progresses, Charlie’s not sure if he will get to see who Santa is without the beard.
This was one of those stories I couldn’t stop reading. Charlie was adorable, and the rest of the supporting characters were great. The Christmas Rules and Head Elf certainly made you feel as though you had to keep on my toes to make sure the grotto was run on schedule. The romance was quick, but you could tell that it was blossoming in the lead up to Christmas. It had a great happy ending, which I admit caused me to weep.
I would love to have known more, and maybe seen more of how Charlie and Santa aka Nick, got on. Nick was a bit elusive to me, but the description was enough to whet my appetite and Charlie was smitten enough.
This was a cheery Christmas ready which kept me entertained and got me into a festive mood.

3.0 out of 5 stars Comical
A light-hearted romp through a London Santa display and an elf meeting his first love. The tone is light-hearted but more as an observer. Reading Elf after everyone's name gets repetitious. As with every book there is a slip in proofing by referring to Nick and Santa rather than Charlie and Santa.

Charlie-elf & Santa are both shy & reserved, but it's nice when they both get to have a very Merry Christmas

4.0 out of 5 stars Clumsy Santa
Aww this was a huge slice of holiday mush when shy virgin Charlie meets a magical but adorable clumsy Santa! Very low heat level with only an on page kiss but still very enjoyable

4.0 out of 5 stars Quick fun read.
A fun bright read. Nick and Charlie finding love and seeing Kyle 12 months later was a bonus. His first visit brought tears to my eyes
