Midwinter Night's Dream Kindle Edition
Leo is passionate about two things: gay rights activism and acting. He stays focused and in control, and he never, ever, dates straight guys. When a chance spin of a bottle at a party has him locking lips with Micah Springfield, president of the Delts, dread-headed, serial-dating, straight Micah, Leo is determined to forget about it, no matter how incendiary the sparks or how gorgeous Micah may be.
Leo has bigger problems. His senior project is directing Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream just before the Christmas break. When his venue cancels at the last minute, Micah offers the use of his parent’s barn in rural Pennsylvania. Leo’s play may be saved, but what about his heart? Between Micah’s sweet lips, his family’s welcoming arms, and a devious bulldog who is determined to play Puck, Leo may find himself falling under the spell of Christmas magic.

About the author

Having been, at various times and under different names, a minister's daughter, a computer programmer, a game designer, the author of paranormal mysteries, a fan fiction writer, an organic farmer and a profound sleeper, Eli is happily embarking on yet another incarnation as a m/m romance author.
As an avid reader of such, she is tickled pink when an author manages to combine literary merit, vast stores of humor, melting hotness and eye-dabbing sweetness into one story. She promises to strive to achieve most of that most of the time. She currently lives on a farm in Pennsylvania with her husband, three bulldogs, three cows and six chickens. All of them (except for the husband) are female, hence explaining the naked men that have taken up residence in her latest fiction writing.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was such a delightful story as all of Eli Eastman's stories are. Micah is a very smart and sweet man who has no problem finding girls to date. He is the president of his frat and very straight, at least he thinks he is. Leo is chasing acting and is very gay, an activist and leader. Micah has no problem with gays as his brother, Hank and best friend, Sloan are, he pretty much has no hang ups when it comes to gays. He is attracted to Leo and at a party, he has to kiss him and falls into gay lust. Their story is fun, full of angst, hurt feelings, denial, straight to gay love and a whole lot more. It is a book to read as well as the story of Hank and Sloan in "Unwrapping Hank." Enjoy
- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was a very sweet and fun read, like all of Eli Easton's holiday stories. She knows how to do the "short & sweet" really well. I was a little disappointed in this story though because of all the spelling errors. There was an excessive amount in this story, not just the occasional one off that happens. This was too short of a story to have that many errors. If you are like me and get taken out of your headspace when you come across an error, you might be disappointed. This is the first Eli Easton story this has occurred and I hope it was just a one time thing and future stories will be edited better.
All said, I always look forward to Easton's holiday stories, and really, no one does m/m holiday romance like she does.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love Micah Springfield. I wish there were more people like him!
I really liked this book, but then again, I have become a big fan of Eli Easton's writing style. I particularly enjoy the conversations that her characters have.
In this story, Micah (who was already a little 'bi-curious' but in a totally non-smarmy way) becomes very interested in Leo. Leo ends up with a major problem that Micah MIGHT have a solution for. :) Ta-da! Chemistry follows. It's cute. Very sweet. Some hot-ish moments.
The ONLY thing I didn't buy is the Helen-Yas story. I'm just buying that story line. Nice girls, but I didn't see them as a couple.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt started out great, but--I don't know, kind of--devolved. It wasn't terrible, I just expected more. apart from that first nuclear kiss, Micah and Leo pretty much lacked chemistry. I thought there was more chemistry between two of the other characters than the main ones.
Also. there was one thing that really bugged me. In the first book, which I absolutely loved, their momma had a long braid that reached far down her back, and there was no mention of her wearing dreads when the boys were younger like this book states--even though there were scenes where albums of photos figured. Now, a year later, she wears her hair short? Now I know her cancer didn't come back, so did she donate her braid to Locks Of Love or what? such a monumental change should have been addressed :)
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love that Micah got his own story. I loved him in Unwrapping Hank and I really felt bad that he was left hanging so I was excited to read his book. I was happy that it started off with a scene involving Sloane and Hank. I loved them and it made me happy to see them again.
Our first meeting with Leo was great. That kiss was intense. For a minute there, I thought my kindle was going to melt. I love kisses like that. Too bad it didn't happen again for a while. Although, I liked that Micah had to work for Leo's trust and it was fun watching him squirm.
I have to say that Grinch is awesome. That damn bulldog had me laughing every time he showed up. He definitely made a great wingman.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI loved the book, HOWEVER being the world's BIGGEST fan of "Unwrapping Hank", the first book of these two, I was a bit disappointed. "Unwrapping Hank" developed the characters much more and I have read it over and over and over. Sadly this book is not up to what I saw as the standards with "Hank". But, having said that, Ms. Easter IS A FANTASTIC WRITER and I do have to say I enjoyed everything she has written. I so hope there is a BOOK THREE in this series! Read and enjoy!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWell, I loved Micah's and Leo's love story. It is best read after Unwrapping Hank to get the full effect.
Midsummers Night's Dream is my favorite play so the fact that this novella contains the play being rehearsed and performed and then is itself a retelling the of romantic plot is a amazing fun.
I love that Leo is not easy for Micah to convince and that Micah has to really work for him.
The cast is lovely and the Christmas parts are great. It is a very good New Adult romance made stellar by the allusion fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseVery enjoyable follow up to Unwrapping Hank. We get to see old faces and meet new ones. The story line roughly follows Shakespeare's Mid Summer Night's Dream. I liked Leo's ability to melt Micha's brain, turn him inside out and leave him totally open. It was nice to see Micha so vulnerable after he has been such a playboy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Christmas Read - Micah
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a sequel to Unwrapping Hank; it can well be read as a standalone but you will enjoy Sloane and Hank so much more if you’ve read the first one.
Micah is Mr Chill on campus but when he plays a game of spin the bottle and ends up kissing Drama Major Leo, he loses his cool. Completely confused he follow Sloane’s advice and asks Leo out only to be rejected. So he settles for being friends and jumps at the chance to offer Leo his parents’ barn for a performance when Leo is at loose ends. So the whole drama group relocates to the Springfield’s farm for a few days, just before Christmas – including Leo, Yazmin, Micah’s would-be girlfriend and Sloane and Hank. What to expect but – drama?
I loved this almost as much as the first book. The scenes with Hank and Sloane where hilarious and Micah’s parents as lovely as always. Micah has always been open about sexuality so while he is a bit surprised he is totally open to being with Leo – but Leo is wary of falling for someone who until recently considered himself straight. Micah has his work cut out for him.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Festive Read.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have looked forward to this book all year. Eli Easton's Christmas books are my favourites. I love Micah, he's so laid back and such a hippy. After his near miss with Sloane, (from ,'Unwrapping Hank,' last year's Christmas book), I couldn't wait to see who he'd end up with. His love interest turns out to be Leo, a theatre major, who he gets to kiss when playing spin the bottle.
The attraction between the two is immediate, the kiss is off the charts. Leo obviously likes Micah, and Micah is smitten. However, because Leo believes Micah is straight, he stays away, due to his 'only homo' rule; you see, Leo has been burned before by a straight guy. Leo doesn't realise that Micah is bicurious, and that he suspects he may be bisexual, so when Micah asks Leo out, Leo shoots him down. Micah is gutted, he's never been so attracted to anyone before, and, according to Sloane, is showing signs of being lovesick.
Eventually, we get back to the farm and meet Micah's parents again, Karma and Lilith are wonderful characters and so well written. I won't spoil the story and tell you how we get there, but the farm is as it was before, lovely and welcoming, so Christmassy and (bonus) Grinch, the bulldog is there too.
I really liked Micah and Leo together and when they finally do get together they're obviously made for each other. I also liked that Ms Easton told the story from both their points of view. However, I wanted to read more about them as a couple. Unfortunately, we also get the viewponts of three of the secondary characters. I liked hearing from Sloane, but was totally disinterested in what Helen and Yasmine had to say. I just wanted more Micah and Leo.
The book has echoes of 'Midsummers Night Dream,' which I quite enjoyed, and was also well done. It's a lovely Christmas story which I will read again, there just wasn't enough Micah and Leo for me, the 5 different points of view didn't really do it for me. I still love Ms Easton's writing though, she has a real knack for writing humour and totally writes from the heart. I do hope we get to find out more about Sloane, Hank, Micah and Leo. Maybe next year we'll get the story of the fabulous Will. I do hope so. To get the best from this book you must read, 'Unwapping Hank,' to get Micah's back story. 41/2 stars from me.

Schade.
