About the author

Aimee Clinton is the author of adult fantasy romance series, Wings and Whispers and The Cursed Queen.
Hailing from Liverpool, England, Aimee spent the majority of her childhood in the saddle, or wandering the country parks, pretending to be the lady of the manor. Sadly, as she got older, she realised that an immortal prince was never going to sweep her away on a magical adventure, and she took matters into her own hands. These days, she spends her days writing about all things swoony and magical, with her works taking loose inspiration from fairytales and British history.
When she's not writing, she enjoys indulging in a spot of art (visit her socials to see some of her work, including character art), trying to stay aboard feisty horses, and catering to the whims of her pet hamsters and finicky houseplants.
Aimee lives in the UK with her husband, children and a menagerie of pampered pets.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2024AMAZING. I do not have enough words to describe this book. I got it as an ARC and I could not put it down. Aliza is probably my favorite FMC of all time. She is emotional, but also so strong and will hold her ground. I related to her in so many ways. The story is incredible, with it being a retelling, but so much of it is also original. Also the slow burn and the development of her relationship with Idris. The ending was crazy, I was not expecting the stake. For him to come in and reveal himself and save her was so amazing. Whirlwind of emotions. I was so upset at the end when they were both walking away, just for them to realize that they were going to try anyways despite all the odds. 10/10 would recommend and will be purchasing physical copies for my bookshelves. I can’t wait for the next book! My new favorite comfort read!!!!

I powered through the first chapter (spider-infested caves, no thank you!) and then I was swept off my feet by Jacques and I couldn't put the book down. I fell in love with the characters and the storyline. This was an excellent read, heartbreaking at times and I can't wait for the next ride at this emotional rollercoaster!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2024Prince of the Tower is an absolute captivating, magical, fantasy adventure spinning a place of intrigue and imagination. From the very beginning, I was drawn in as our modern day human, Aliza slips into this enchanted world, crawling with magical creatures, supernatural beings and recurring situations of palpable danger. Coming from a world, where magic only exist in fairytale stories, the world-building gives the reader a beautiful vision of what you could expect from an enchanted realm. Fairies. Witches. Secrets. Curses. Vampires. Alluring fae princess.
I found myself deeply invested in the plot to follow Aliza on a journey FULL of mystery, high-stakes and tension to awaken the fae prince's from an enchanted slumber and fulfill a mysterious prophecy. Her discoveries, thoughts and character development will send you on a rollercoaster of emotions and intrigue.
The introduction of both prince's into Aliza's life is such a complex & intriguing dynamic to the storyline, intricately weaving different emotions with every scene, that it kept me glued to my kindle. It had the perfect blend of humor, heartache, betrayal, danger and longing to keep you on your toes with so many twists. It's definitely a slooooooooow 💘 burn Romantasy but when one of the prince's falls, he falls hard & will make you swoon!!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2024Witches, fairies, and vampires, oh my!
I absolutely ate this story up! It’s every girl’s dream to stumble through a portal into another world, right? Just me??
Aliza with an “A” is on a mission to get back to the human world after accidentally stumbling into another world, but this realm wasn’t any normal realm. This world contained witches, vampires, fairies, epic quests, giant spiders, a dashing stalker, things that go bump in the night, bargains that shouldn’t be made, Fae Princes to be rescued and a curse to break. What could possibly go wrong?
I adored the beautifully crafted world, the diverse cast of characters and their relationship with the FMC, the FMC coming to her own, the building slow burn (no spice, but promises for more in the next two books by Aimee), high stakes, and unpredictable plot twists.
The cover of this book is deceiving, this isn’t some rainbow and sunshine kind of story. This is a gritty adventure story about a girl trying all that she can just to get home, even if it means embarking on a quest to break a curse and rescue some Fae Princes. The world building is amazing, but also may be too much for some, this enchanting story really picks up after the 40% mark.
I honestly cannot wait until the next book, and recommend this book for those that love an immersive fantasy world experience.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2024Prince of the Tower is a wonderful and imaginitive romantasy. Aliza is about to graduate from her veterinary studies and she goes on a camping trip with her friends. She falls through a portal and reaches Neath, a world where fairies, elves, witches, vampires and other magical creatures live, She is caught in court intrigue, murder attempts and falls in love with a fae prince with a tragic past. This book is action-packed and a page turner. It is very entertaining and the world building is wonderful. Aliza and Idris are great characters and I am so looking forward to reading the next books to find out how things unfold!

5.0 out of 5 stars A captivating read
Prince of the Tower, the first book in the Wings and Whispers series, is a captivating tale of a young woman named Aliza who finds herself in a magical realm after falling through a hidden portal. As the only human to end up in the realm in centuries, Aliza soon realizes that the fate of the realm lies with her, she must break the curse that is holding twin Fae princes captive in a state of slumber.
However, not all is as it seems in this magical world. Promises are not as enchanting as they sound and come with more than Aliza bargained for. She must navigate through lies and loss, facing both dreams and nightmares. The dynamic between Aliza and the twin Fae princes adds an intriguing layer to the story. As Aliza delves deeper into the mystery of the curse that binds them, she forms a complex relationship with each of the princes, each with their own motivations and secrets. The interplay between the characters adds depth to the narrative and keeps readers guessing about the true nature of the curse and its implications for the realm.
As Aliza fights to save her own life and the lives of others in the magical realm, she is faced with unexpected challenges that make her question who she is and what she wants from her life, will Aliza ever find her way back home? Will her life ever be the same as it was in the human world? Should she stay and fight the dark magic that threatens this world?
These questions drive the plot forward, keeping readers engaged until the very end.
In addition to the captivating plot and well-developed characters, Prince of the Tower also excels in its world-building. The Wings and Whispers series, the magical realm that Aliza finds herself in is richly detailed, with vivid descriptions that bring the world to life. From enchanted forests to mystical creatures, readers will find themselves fully immersed in the fantastical setting.
Overall, Prince of the Tower is a spellbinding fantasy novel that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the Wings and Whispers series. With its engaging storyline, well-crafted characters, and immersive world-building, this book is sure to captivate fans of fantasy and romance alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, enchanting, entertaining!
This was so enchanting. It's a beautiful twist on sleeping beauty, but the damsel in distress is actually twin princes cursed by an evil sorcerer aka their scheming uncle, and they're saved by a reluctant human who stumbled across this magical world and just wants to go home.
Aliza is thrust into a journey of self discovery and navigating an impossible world filled with monsters and lies, all due to a prophecy she's somehow meant to fulfill to embrace her role as the saviour Queen.
This story had me hooked well and truly, I loved the world, the twists, the slow burn building romance, and the characters do not disappoint - with a delightful mix of personality traits including stalking, possessive, grumpy, brooding, stubborn, determined, witty and sassy. This is an amazing book and I can't wait for more, especially after that ending!

5.0 out of 5 stars Drama, magic and romance ….
Aimee Clinton has a gift for bringing supernatural characters to life which makes Prince of the Tower a really enjoyable read. I loved the plot of the tall human heroine, Aliza, who assists witches in their quest to over come a wicked tyrant, by waking up two princes from a magical sleep with a kiss. The story combines Aliza’s very real desire to go home to her human parents who think she has died, with her evolving relationships with the fae princes who need her help. There are a few unexpected plot twists that kept me gripped right to the end, and even brought an unexpected tear to my eye. I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!
A beautifully written twist on Sleeping Beauty. I think because Aliza is extremely relatable it made the story overall feel so much more alive.
Due to unfortunate events that transpire, Aliza is thrown into magical world that has been long forgotten by the human realm. Aliza must save the two princes from a curse, thus fulfilling an ancient prophecy.
Full of unexpected friendships and romance, Aliza goes through a journey in these pages.
I was drawn in from the first chapter, a beautifully written book full of magic that feels very old tale English. It has enough originality thrown in with the typical tropes that come with a fantasy novel, that it feels fresh and a very vitalising read. The ending will make you immediately want to jump into the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Believable characters, twisting plots, fantastical lands. What's not to love?
Our reluctant hero Aliza, is instantly identifiable and likeable. Like many of us she would be at her happiest tucked away in a quiet room with a good book, cup of tea and chocolate bar but instead finds herself thrust into a strange magical world full of fantastical beings and creatures.
She overcomes all trials thrown in her path with intelligence, wit and absolute bloody-mindedness. You cheer with her every triumph, mourn with her every loss, laugh with her sarcasm and wit and burn with anger whenever she is treated unfairly.
Relationships blossom throughout the story, teasing with possibilities
and leaving you desperate for the next instalment to see how they will develop.
A stunning opening novel for a series that I hope will run and run.
