- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2025The science-y explanation was an interesting premise and the characters were interesting, so it held up well throughout the book. The weak part was that he was such a bumbling and lazy detective character, always wanting to call it quits before resolving issues and doing stupid vigilante stuff. The brain enhancements were supposed to eliminate those characteristics but failed…..
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2024I have to agree with several other reviewers: the story was set up very well, but the last part of the story seemed rushed to a quick ending. Would actually give this one 3.5 stars. It would be great if the story of Toby continued on into other adventures, with better development of the entire story.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2024“22:22:22: Frequency Shift” is a constant “page turner!, Adam Eccles is a consummate writer who really knows owns how to write powerful, meaningful characters, great plot and a sense of adventure. I fell in love with his writing and would welcome further books in a “Toby Steele” series. There’s nothing pat or predictable in this book and it all feels like it really could happen- that maybe the ideas of a frequency shift implants in a person’s brain could technologically come about. The very best science fiction blends crisp writing, realistic characters who are relatable, and a sensible plot. Adam Eccles gives us that and so much more. Thank you so much, Adam! One Great Read!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024Too much foul language. Where is the follow up story? Hope there is another but without the f bombs which take away from good writing
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2024It starts off a bit slow with the back story. The premise is great. The story picks up quite a bit as the reader understands what is going on. Very clever and an enjoyable read with great characters. Looking forward to reading book 2.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2023I won't bore with details. It started out fun and interesting but it felt like the author forced/rushed an ending just to finish the book. It honestly left me very disappointed. I wish the author could just recall this book and edit it with a fitting second half of the book. The first half was well done.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good old fashioned Knight in Shining Armor Sci-fi novel....
I enjoyed reading this story, it reminds me of Heinlein, though not quite as long winded.
A nice diversion from 38C temperatures here in India.
I like the concepts presented here, particularly that of latent abilities coming to the forefront.....this can be seen occurring naturally in a number of the younger generation, aged teens to 30's.
Maybe we don't need that much technology to achieve those latent abilities in the young, just enough time for them to develop.
If you question that some of these abilities are now present, find yourself a real healer , or come to India.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating read
What a fascinating story Adam tells here. Mystery, spy stuff and interesting characters. It ends totally different than you would expect in the beginning. I definitely recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Wonderful story line. Could have been extended a little as the end seems hurried. Anyways all the ends were tied well. Look forward to other works by this author

5.0 out of 5 stars 222222
This is an intriguing novel. It’s an interesting way to go back on the superhero myth, and also on the eternal fight between good and evil. Adam Escles has managed with irony to revisit both. It’s an enjoyable read

5.0 out of 5 stars Just. So. Good.
If ever there was a book I wish I’d written, it’s this one.
I’m incredibly jealous of all you people out there who haven’t read it yet because you get to experience the whole thing from the start with no prior knowledge. And meet Toby - the thinking woman's hero.
*Sighs*
Phenomenal storytelling at its best, this unique, hugely satisfying story has everything: characters you can identify with, situations you’ve either experienced or desperately want to, and the potential for a whole series with more thrilling adventures. We even get to travel to Ireland which comes alive with the witty observations of a person who knows and loves it well.
Please tell me book 2 is coming out later this year.
