About the author

Tim Notier was born and raised just west of Chicago, Illinois. For the first 32 years of his life, he rarely explored more than an hour away from the hospital he was born in. But now things have changed. He has sold all of his possessions, and has traded his behind-the-desk job for a full time behind-the-handlebars adventure.
Tim's first book, 'Maiden Voyage' introduces who Tim and Marisa are, and what inspired them to travel the world via a motorcycle, '2Up and Overloaded' sets them free into the world.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2022I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this book; I guess I assumed it would be an interesting read---but I wasn't expecting much in terms of writing style (since nowadays anyone can be a self-published author). Well, it didn't take very long for me to realize that Tim's writing style is phenomenal. When I ride a bike, I enjoy the scenery---but Tim pays attention to the smallest details and describes them in such a way that pulls you right into the environment. He's attuned to his emotions when he encounters unexpected issues along the trip, and describes exactly how he feels. But one of the most enjoyable parts of the book is just appreciating the relationship between Tim and Marissa. While Tim might be the one steering the bike, Tim and Marissa are clearly a team, supporting each other on their quest to experience all that life has to offer. I highly recommend this book, and while I haven't read Tim's first book or his third, those two are the next on my list.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2020You should read their first book Maiden Voyage just for more background and because you would enjoy it, along with Road Guide Through Peru, but not a necessity because this is a standalone book. Not written like a sequel.
Also it is not written like you are reading someones daily log book, Tim's writing style is really wonderful, He'll bring a tear to your eye quickly even from happiness and he made me laugh out loud numerous times! Sometimes completely unexpected with his amazing humorous descriptions. (have you ever thought about the power of a dying squirrels last breath?) Neither had I before Tim made me ponder it.
And on that note, I can't imagine any Genre of people that would not enjoy this book. You don't have to be a motorcyclist, world traveler, outdoors-man, or even a dreamer to be enthralled by this book. This is a story about an amazing couple that are on an amazing adventure and because of Tim's great writing ability it is an amazing book that is easy to read and enjoy and flows from the beginning to the end.
I do believe every one would get something out of this book, and probably each one of each will receive something different.
You want to get a little preview, look at notiersfrontiers.com, or on facebook or youtube, you'll come back and order the book.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2023In full disclosure, I have known and loved the author all his life. Objectively, the book is very well written and enjoyable to read. - Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2020Not all of us would be able to leave everything behind and travel the world by motorcycle. Not all of would want to. I sure wish I had done it when I could. Reading about Tim and Marisa's adventure is the next best thing. I read this cover to cover in a few sittings and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tim doesn't paint everything as rosy all the time and is very honest with his own feelings and shortcomings. He is overall very upbeat and it's clear he's becoming more comfortable in his travels as time goes on. I am really looking forward to a book about their travels in South America, and then in Africa.
If you've ever wanted to leave the world behind and go on an amazing adventure this book is for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2021This is an exceptionally great travel book that captures the diversity, beauty, humor, and some of the hardships of riding a motorcycle through Central America. Tim is an excellent writer who uses similes and metaphors to explain things in a very unique and clever way. He does a wonderful job of stitching together some incredibly humorous stories into their chronological travels that is very personable and easy to read. My wife and I would read a chapter before bed each night and laugh at all the unique experiences that were so cleverly written. You really do get the sense that you’re along for the ride with Tim and Marisa.
We’re eagerly looking forward to further books as they continue their travels through South America, Africa, and beyond...
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2022This is such a great book for those who are interested in motocamping or adventure riding. The story is told through the eyes of Tim Notier as he makes his journey from Chicago to Panama. I found the pacing to be spot on with just the right amount of detail giving you the feeling as if you are along for the ride. The book has a great balance of comical moments and interesting discoveries. As someone who's never left the country I found it interesting and revealing on what to expect while traveling on a motorcycle. I feel as though I've absorbed many of the life lessons Tim and Marisa had learned along the way. I can't wait to start their next book "Blood, Sweat, and Notiers".
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2021Never lost interest and the skills needed to Adventure Ride; I certainly do not posses. Tim seems like he is constantly improving his skills... They take great pictures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read
Well, I knew what to expect from this book as I had read the previous one, and all I can say is "Just buy it" If you like this genre of book and have read the likes of Sam Manicom, Graham Field, etc etc, then you'll have no problem enjoying this book.
It gives some great insights to the world of motorcycle travel and Tim has a great way of getting his thought across and describes the sights and situations they come across excellently.
Can't wait until the next book is completed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
I loved his first book and this one is even better!
Tim's story telling is insightful, intimate and laugh out loud funny.
This is not a motorcycle travel book, it's a great story about a couple travelling through the Americas and they are on a motorcycle. If you don't know what I mean then you will just have to buy the book and find out for yourself.
If you are fans of Notiers Frontiers on Facebook, the epic moto vlog, then this is a great companion piece. Or vice-versa. If you consume both you will feel like you have gained two new friends.
I can't wait for number 3 in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars You will devour this book!
I first read "Mayden Voyage", and was introduced to Tim and Marisa's first motorcycle journey through the US. Then, we met in person, randomly, in Patagonia, when we where all overlanding with our motorcycles. I could never imagine that "2Up and Overloaded" would bring me so many laughs, and incontable hours of such pleasurable reading. I literally devoured the book, travelling along with the couple. Tim's writing captivates your attention to every detail of the journey from the US to Panama, where they ship their bike, through the Darien Gap, to Colombia, where the journey continues. I am already salivating for his next book. With so many adventure writers out there, Tim's books reveal a raising star, a young humorous, brilliant writer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read
Just finished it a few weeks ago while I was on holiday for the week. Great read - your writing style makes you want to "go see it for yourself" which to me means you have a great way of describing the adventure and the excitement of what you are seeing. It is also written in a way that makes you smile because you have humour in the way you recall the events. Great book - look forward to the next edition through Africas and Europe?

4.0 out of 5 stars Mr & Mrs Death, ( you will have to read to understand this)
Before I start, I have discussed with Tim direct regarding the photos in the book, and the result of this is, Tim is going to try and sort this out direct with the printer, as he had not seen the printed book. So, if possible while reading and there’s a photo, pop on online as there is a very good chance Tim & Marisa have uploaded a gorgeous colour version.
MY COMMENTS REGARDING THE B&W PHOTOS RELATE TO THE PRINTED VERSION. IF YOU BUY THE KINDLE VERSION, YOU GET COLOUR PHOTOS,,,,, YEH
Right to the book itself. The storey is well paced out as T&M meander from Chicago to Panama, yes just from Chicago to Panama so due to this you get a feeling of their journey, how the people they met, places they saw, are given the right amount of story time. You get to laugh or snigger (if you’re anti KTM), you learn what happens if you leave your helmet on the ground. You learn of “soma di nice ting” “Robert Death Meets Tim Death, but not Marisa Death?) Tim, how did that happen?
Again, you learn of how people in different countries go out of the way to help travellers, that people are in the main friendly.
I liked this book, there was a partial ending, leaving it open to the further adventures of Mr & Mrs Death.
