The Office Guest (Holiday Homecoming Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 1,372 ratings

This could possibly be the worst holiday season ever…

My ex-boyfriend just booked the best suite at the resort where I work (with his new girlfriend, not me), half of the staff has called in sick with the flu (they’re lying so they can attend a huge festival in town), and my sister is driving me crazy with her incessant wedding planning.

These things wouldn’t normally be a big deal during any other season, but “Christmas” changes everything.

And this Christmas, my “little big lie” about a non-existent fiancé is finally in danger of being exposed to my family …

To prevent that from happening, I decide to download The Office Guest.

It’s an app for anyone who needs to hire a “fake & attractive businessman” to impress close family and friends.

At least, that’s what I was hoping for.

When the guy I selected bails on me at the last minute, the app promises to send me “an even sexier replacement.”

They must’ve meant “the devil wrapped in red,” because this guy is not some random actor.

And he’s definitely not a “fake” businessman…

He’s my former boss.

The asshole who fired me last Christmas.

Okay, now it’s officially the worst holiday season ever...

This is the second standalone novella in The Holiday Homecoming Collection.

Georgia, Georgia, Georgia...
4 out of 5 stars
Georgia, Georgia, Georgia...
This book was a short, hilarious, romcom that will keep you laughing. Georgia's niche was hospitality, but her grandmother wanted her to get some life experiences. She gives the minimal effort to everything she does for Reiss Enterprises and it's CEO Dominic. They somehow build a friendship after hours that's surprising even to them. I won't give away the plot, but if you're looking for some light-hearted (mostly), humorous reading, pick up this book. The banter is epic!

This book is over the top, but it works. Georgia and Dominic are so adorable together as boss and terrible employee. She’s the worst when she works for him but the best at her true vocation, a high end resort manager.

This was a fun and entertaining holiday read.

This was a fun little romantic romp to read! I only gave it four stars because of a few typos that should have been caught and a few ideas that should have been fleshed out further (e.g. how was she “the worst” employee? Was it just the sass, the mischief, and the email abuse? How was her work ethic?)

I’d recommend this story for a cozy afternoon when you could use a few laughs!

A nice little holiday enemies to lovers workplace romance.

The Office Guest is the second standalone novella in the Holiday Homecoming collection from Whitney G and it fits in perfectly with the previous one. Georgia was let go from her family's business and ends up working for Dominic, a successful albeit workaholic that makes everyone work an insane amount of hours. Everything is on his time. Georgia pushes all his buttons and they have the funnest insane banter between the two of them. When Christmas rolls around and he won't give Georgia the time off, she takes it upon herself to schedule her own time off and he ends up firing her. Then boyfriend troubles ensue followed by lies and secrets that end up following Georgia back to her family's business where she keeps up the charade for a year. Until the ex boyfriend and ex boss show up and turn her world upside down.

While I enjoyed the book and thought the characters chemistry was exciting, I felt it was a little repetitive and I wasn't a fan of the time jumps. I do wish we got a little more time of the couple actually together, but do like what we got. It's a novella and I'm loving the setting, the family and how much they come back for one another. I will definitely be reading the next one.

Georgia and Dominic were HILARIOUS! The pining between these two with there own unorthodox way was perfection. I love how they continued to talk like they hated each other after she went back home. I loved Savannah's story, but Georgia was a whole mess that I loved seeing what she would do or say next! Another hea for Holiday Homecoming and I can't wait for Tayrn's book.

When she says I have to go home someone died, he says omg who? She says me I died. At that point I had to put the book down and explain to my husband why I was laughing my head off. And the proceed to break down the story. It was so funny hilarious against the backdrop of Christmas holidays. I recommend it to all.

Whitney G just knows how to scratch that little decadent itch in her novellas.

Dominic is the rich guy and Georgia is the worker who is trying to survive in the corporate world. It’s really a basic storyline, but Georgia does come from a well to do family.

They have this hateful and cheeky banter that is very much an HR nightmare, but only if they found out.

This is a novella, so it is short, but Whitney packs a story in and it works. There are some kind of unbelievable things that happen, but I like that it feels like a fantasy? Or rather movie like?

There are some bad edits in this that did take me out a few times. So I did have to pause and let it go. This book has been out long enough to where I think they should have gotten corrected.

In any case, this is about 3.75 stars because I just really enjoyed the couple.

I just love every book this woman has written. Her sense of humour is so good it makes me laugh right out loud. Ever since Reasonable Doubt which was the first book of hers that I had read, she continues to enthrall me with her stories, her characters and her gloriously funny humorous litany of words. I can’t wait for the next one……Thank you Whit!!

I love reading books from this author. This one was a long wait but so worth it. I love the dynamic between the two characters. And that everyone seemed to know the Dominic was into Georgia before he was even aware… another great read from Whitney G. ✨✨✨💫
