John Hayward is the founder and writer of the popular exam materials website, breakoutenglish.com. He started Breakout English in order to reach a wider audience. John has been teaching English since 2010 and teaching exam English for almost the same length of time.

As his teaching career progressed, John found himself focussing more and more on exams. He did the DELTA with a specialism in teaching exam classes and generally got saturated with anything and everything Cambridge or Trinity. Over time, he started to get tired of exam based course books and the same old reused materials. There was a real lack of quality materials that were up-to-date and didn’t drive his students into a pit of despair. That’s when he started to create his own materials for both teachers and students to make the most of their exam preparation.
