    Friends, you never met a worse math student than me. It was such a big deal for me to pass a math test, that when I did, my parents bought me a present. I struggled all throughout my life only by successfully steering away from anything more difficult than arithmetic. When I first took the CBEST Math test I failed it handily, which was no surprise. Then, along came Exam Sam. Not only did I pass it on my second try but I raised my score by 9 points! What made this book so different and superior to the others, is that it gives you several ways to solve the problem in simple language for people like me, who cannot conceive of putting every single thing into an algebraic equation. In fact, the words “ algebraic equation” give me acute anxiety. Exam Sam, whoever you are, a thousand blessings upon your mathematical head.     Having been out of school a while, Iwas apprehensive about taking the math portion of the examin. I heard many stories of people taking it multuple times and failing. I decided I needed a srudy guude.This book was exactly what I needed to review for the CBEST Math section! I passed on my firsy try.

    The book is good because it gives you problems and then walks you through the steps and strategies needed to solve the problems. There are three seperate test that review the types of questions that will be found on the test. If you complete all the test, you should have no problem on the test because the repetition really helps you remeber.

    I was really nervous, but started to relax while taking the test when I realized I had practiced problems very similar at home. I suggest you get this book study one chapter a week, and then review them randomly selecting pages to solve. Good luck !

    I bought three books to prepare myself for the CBEST. This book was the most helpful. Other books I felt had so much unnecessary information, but this one got straight to the point. Questions on the actual test were very similar to the ones in this book. I'm terrible at math, but I felt like this book helped me pass. My one complaint is that a few explanations needed a little more elaboration, but other than that I'm glad I purchased this.

    It took me 5 times to pass the Math portion of the math test in the CBEST. I had other study guides but this was the one that helped me the most. It was 3 test. And I ran through the book twice so I can finally pass. Today I just found out that I did pass! So I would say give it a try as someone that is not good with math. I do fear it. But overall this was my life for a few weeks to study it page per page!

    This mainly has a lot of word problems which is where I struggle. The there are explanations for each answer but sometimes they jump 1 or 2 steps ahead and I'm not sure how they came to that conclusion. Overall it is pretty good and I anticipate passing the CBEST with the help of this book.
