    I got this book by accident when I was looking for a particular book in Amazon. The blurb piqued my interest and one-clicked it and thank God I did because I.JUST.LOVED.IT. Though I've read mixed reviews about this one - both good & nasty, I still took the chance. I was surprised actually that after few pages, I was hooked. Honestly, I was skeptical about this, at first, because of the 11 years age gap between the hero and heroine but the way the author developed Claire and Jonathan's characters was amazing enough that I didn't put too much attention on that. I didn't find it offensive at all, rather, amusing and captivating. This ain't the first book that I've read with the same plot but surprisingly, I enjoyed every moment of it.

    Claire is a 40 year-old divorcee with twin daughters, who after 4 years of being divorced, still haven't moved on from the break-up that she remained closed-off and distant to men. I know that it was really hard for her, knowing that what caused their divorce was her husband cheating with her bestfriend. So when Jonathan barged into her life - gorgeous, cocky, smart, insanely rich then later on found out that he's her boss, the owner of Statham Industries where she works and 11 years younger than her, she knew she had to avoid him at all costs. But Jonathan is the type of guy who doesn't take no for an answer and his attraction to Claire is so intense that he has to do everything he could to have her in his life. So the chase started...

    I really, really enjoyed this one. Though I hated Claire's insecurities most of the time, I still loved her character. She just felt real to me that I instantly felt connected with her throughout the story. She was infuriating sometimes because she kept pushing Jonathan away but I completely understood why. Her interactions with her twin daughters - Ashley and Caroline, are some of my favorite highlights of the story. These two always cracked me up.

    Then of course, who could resist the charm of Jonathan? He might be cocky and arrogant but I still found him endearing and lovable. He was way over-protective of Claire and his stalking tendencies knows no bounds, but if he'd be the one to do it to me, I won't mind either. He is just so hawt. I fell in love with him...so hard.

    This is a sexy, funny and romantic book. A pure escapism. Lovable characters, brilliant plot, witty banters, well-paced and really enjoyable. While some didn't like this but I did. Quite predictable at first but the last few chapters were a real k!ck-@$s. Glad that there's a second book because I don't want to let go of Claire and Jonathan yet. I'll be jumping off to the next book after this.

    Mid Life Love is about a woman in her early forties. Claire has discovered that the love of her life, her husband cheated on her with her best friend. She decides to start life over on the opposite coast. She heads west to be closer to her mother and she takes a job well under her expected pay range working for a tech company in advertising.

    Jonathan is a man in his prime. He is the founder of a major technology company and he is an incredibly wealthy CEO. Jonathan has not had the best start in life but he is doing well for himself and could get any woman he wanted.

    So when Jonathan sets his sights on Claire, she has no idea why. She sees herself as past her prime and beyond the interest of the likes of Jonathan. He begins pursuing her but she is not having it. She reminds him repeatedly why she is not the right woman for him.

    Claire is extremely insecure and even though she is beautiful and intelligent.

    Jonathan is the most attentive "non-boyfriend" I have ever seen. Claire decides early on that they are not in a relationship, nor will they be. To ease her fears of others discovering them together, he goes to extreme lengths.

    There are many swoon worthy moments where he is the absolute best guy on the planet. He is everything she could ever want. But she won't let herself have him.

    Despite all of this, Claire continues to push him away. She is not able to see herself as deserving. She knows that it will eventually end anyway, so she wants to save herself the heartache.

    She just can't get past the betrayal of her ex-husband and her best friend.

    Jonathan's mother enters the picture at a time when they are just starting to get closer. She is a chronic drug user and this is her thirteenth drug rehab graduation. Jonathan tries to pursue her. He does everything to make her realize that she is beautiful, intelligent and worthy of his love. He can't stop his feelings from growing no matter how hard he tries.

    Some things just can not be undone. Claire goes too far, and Jonathan may not be able to forgive her.

    Things I loved about this book: 1) Jonathan was perfect. Absolutely perfect. 2) The idea that love has no age limits. 3) Both people were strong and intelligent. 4) Amazing writing. 5) HOT sex. 6) Great dialogue.

    What I didn't like: 1)Claire and her wishy washy "I am not good enough" attitude. I wanted to seriously smack her upside the head. I get why she was that way, but it was still really annoying at times. 2) And Jonathan puts up with WAY more than any man should from her.

    That said, I really loved this book. It pulled me in and kept me reading late into the night. I would give this one a four star rating. It was very sweet at times and also very entertaining. There is a lot of drama so if you like the drama, this one is for you. We do get our happily ever after in the end. I will definitely look for more from this author.

    I loved the story of Jonathan and Claire. She is ten years older, but all he wants is her in his life forever. Claire needed to get over her self esteem issues and realise that love does not discriminate on age, only she does. Thankfully she came to her senses and realised that what they had was bigger than her issues, and together they were a good couple in love together. Definitely worth all of the five stars

I’m a huge fan of this trope owym anyway and Whitney G writes with the right amount of drama,angst, lush and humour. after her divorce Claire is reluctant to date again but when Jonathan sees her it’s love at first sight…. for him at least but Claire can’t understand why a sexy smart handsome younger man would want her when he could have models and actresses his own age, especially after the love of her life left her for another woman
