A Harmless Little Plan (Harmless #3) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 2,238 ratings

Turns out there was a second video from that awful night four years ago. Mine wasn’t the only tape.

Too bad mine wasn’t the worst.

Drew can’t protect me no matter how hard he tries, but the roles are flipped now. I have to help him, but I’m not wired that way. Not anymore. That one night changed me more than anyone knows.

More than anyone could predict.

Three men think they’re above the law. They’re right.

But I’m willing to go beneath the law to make sure they never harm anyone else. Their threats don’t scare me.

When you have nothing left to lose because someone took it all away, you create the most dangerous creature imaginable.

Me.

Game over.

I absolutely loved this series and I want more. I was not ready for it to end. This last book was packed with with twists and turns and feelings. It was a roller coaster ride of feelings. Poor Lindsay has not had much of a life. Her parents have controlled her for most of her life, even leaving her in a mental institution for 4 years, probably 3 years more than she should have been there. Her relationship was impacted by the events that happened 4 years before. Her parents were too concerned about how it would affect their political ambitions to give her a real chance at healing. They never asked her what happened or asked how she was feeling. They never visited her, just left her there. Then, they needed her and just expected her to comply and be fine. Nothing was solved by leaving her in the mental institution, the original threat was still there. And of course the question of why all this happened to her was answered. But, her parents are so selfish and just can't see past their own ambition and agenda to try to support or care about her well being. Just threaten to put her back in the institution. So much happens and all the questions are answered, but in a truly horrific way. She is kidnapped again by the same guys who attacked her 4 years ago. This time, they plan to kill her, but not before playing with her again. But, she is not the same person and she has a plan. They are setting up Drew to make it look like he is stalking her. Great book, great writing, lots of feels, very suspenseful. The characters are really developed well. I definitely want to read more.

***I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book to give an honest review***Lindsay has been kidnapped. While Drew has been incarcerated unjustly, He's been accused of being a stalker and trying to harm Lindsay. He's being brutalized by the police beaten and kicked. Mark comes to the jail to let him know of Lindsay's kidnapping. He tells Mark to get him out of jail so that he can save Lindsay, for he knows that this time they plan to kill her. Hours later he is released from jail. He has injected a GPS chip in her hand, so she holds on to the belief that Drew will save her. They have actually taken her to Drew's apartment so that they can kill her there and have him accused of her murder. They stripped her nude and handcuffed her with plastics cuffs. This part of the story gets a little slow, but this is where we find out who and why the whole story of why the three classmates of Drew and Lindsay have brutalized and gang raped her and now intend to kill her. As usual, Meli has written a blood-soaked, dark, and intriguing story of special ops, undercover agents and crazies. A good read.

O.M.G! I binge read the Harmless Trilogy in a day and a half! I couldn't put it down! If you enjoy Political Thrillers then you need to read this trilogy. While so many questions were answered in this dual POV book, there are still some things that aren't fully explained. IMO, that is true to life and makes the story realistic. When deception of this magnitude occurs there is no way to have all the answers. Everything can't be tied up with a neat little bow.

Lindsay and Drew have been through so much and deserve their HEA. Together they make each other whole.

I loathe Lindsay's mother even more than I did at the end of Book 1. Her father isn't fit to be a Senator, much less POTUS. I would love to find out that Lindsay and Drew never spoke to either of them again.

This was my first encounter with Meli Raine (even though I've read books under her pen name Julia Kent) but it certainly won't be my last. I've already got the Coming Home series on my e-reader just waiting for me to binge read.

Finally the conclusion to this heart pounding series that has had me captured from the very first sentence in book one! I have been addicted to this series since book one, and was more than excited to grab A Harmless Little Plan to find out how everything ended for Lindsay and Drew, especially with how A Harmless Little Ruse ended!

When we left these characters, Lindsay has been taken by someone impersonating Mark, Drew had been arrested and we still didn't know why these two have been targeted again or four years ago, and who all was involved in their torture. We finally get the answers, and the corruption is so deep it's almost unbelievable, but it's not. I hated seeing both Drew and Lindsay go through everything they had to go through again in this book, and watching them break, but it ended up making them stronger in the long run. They got the answers they needed, and it brought them together once and for all.

Watching Drew and how protective he is of Lindsay was beautiful. His love for her is something no one can deny. He will do anything for her, even die if it means saving her and letting her live. He knows going in to some of the situations in this book that, that may be a choice he needs to make and he knows he'd make it over and over again. He sticks up for her over and over again and doesn't let anyone or anything hurt her if he can help it. Watching her go through things that he can't stop cuts him deep and as a reader you can feel his pain just as much as you can feel Lindsay's pain as she's going through some of the things.

Meli Raine does an amazing job of pulling the reader into the characters heads in this series, but especially in this book. Since in A Harmless Little Plan we get both Lindsay and Drew's point of view, we get to see how both of them are feeling and their plans, we get the full picture and everything seems to come full circle. I felt the happiness, the sense of loss, the fear, and the dispear of the characters in this book, and in the end I felt the relief and happiness that they both deserved. The end was perfect, and the last line had me laughing out loud. The ending to this book was perfection. As much as I didn't want Lindsay and Drew's story to end, it ended beautifully. If you're looking for a romantic suspense that will have you guessing throughout the full series, the Harmless Series by Meli Raine is an absolute MUST READ! Go grab your copy today!

I loved this series. It kept me on tenterhooks to find what would happen next. I read this book in one go. I literally couldn't put it down.
I very rarely buy ebooks since I registered for kindle unlimited but after reading the 1st book in the series I had to buy the other books in the series. It was well worth it.
It was intense and I was literally on the edge of my seat reading. I darent breathe. I felt like if I put it down I would miss something vital to the story.
The past gets resolved to some extent but I'm left with several questions with regard to why it occurred. The explanation didn't gel with the enormity of what had occurred.
I was intrigued by Jane and Anya after the kidnapping. This is explored in a new series called Shameless which begins at the end of January. I can't wait to read and delve into the murky world of politics and government intrigue.
    Fabulous series and highly recommended

OMG!! What intrigue! What manipulation! Lindsay and Drew are just pawns in a master game. How can they possibly survive? So many twists and turns! It's a heart attack a minute! I did feel that Drew's abuse was a bit minimized and more time should have been dedicated to it when Lindsay found out. But his therapy session was brilliantly portrayed. All the "play acting", games and hidden agendas in this book series make me so grateful that I am who I am, a nobody in their world. My world is simple and real. Theirs is full of lies and distrust. All the fame and money in the world wouldn't make me want to change places. This is truly an awesome, well-written, very detailed book. It is an exemplary example of why books are sooooooo much better than movies. Bravo!

Just wow. This series was fantastic. The first book ruined my makeup from all the tears. Was not expecting theses books to be so great. The author doesn't make the characters emotions or how they deal with them unrealistic. For example when something bad happens they are not over it the next day, you know like a normal person would cope. Highly recommended.

This is the second series of books by Meli that I've read. She is a wonderful wordsmith and the action scenes are brilliant.

I read the books in quick succession and they are the best I've read in a long time. The story is action packed and I felt I was on the roller coaster with Drew and Lindsay.

I love Lindsay's feistiness and courage in the face of the horrendous experience she suffered -not just from her attackers but from her parents as well; her mother in particular.

Drew is wonderful. A true hero with ghosts of his own to overcome.

A wonderful author and an amazing series of books. Highly recommended.
