About the author

Simon Stanton fell in love with stories at an early age, reading and writing science fiction. Despite the best efforts of parents and teachers to broaden his horizons, Simon remained obsessed with sci-fi. Teaching himself to touch type so he could get his thoughts on paper quicker, Simon wrote shorts stories, ideas for bigger works, and finally his first novel-length work - a piece which remains safely locked away. Then he stopped writing, and after a thirty-year hiatus (which not even he can adequately explain) he began writing again, first short stories and then his first proper novel, A Mind To Kill, published on Amazon. This book, the first in The Psiclone Series, is now followed by the second book, Force Of Mind, the third, The Psiclone Project, the fourth book, Power In Mind, and now the fifth and final novel in the Psiclone series, Final Mind.
Simon lives in West Yorkshire, UK, and balances his writing with home life, a job in project management, and his practise of Aikido (a Japanese martial art.)

- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019I got this as a present. It's a big ol'book. In great condition and good plot. No comment on the writing yet, just on receiving the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost Believable.
Simon Stanton has produced a Sci. Fi. novel which is so full of technical details it's hard to refute some of them. His descriptions of GCHQ may be correct or not. However, the story rattles along at breakneck speed. Well done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining thriller with a neat twist
A solid thriller that's reminiscent of TV show '24' (in a good way), 'A Mind to Kill' features a psychic MI5 agent as its protagonist and puts a neat spin on the normal thriller fare. It's fast paced and convincing, with a likeable supporting cast and just enough humour. An entertaining read, slightly comic bookish at times but in a way that really works. The book is billed as part one in a series and the author pulls off the trick of leaving you wanting more whilst still providing a satisfying experience.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed
I enjoyed the story it was a good read. A little more background would have enhanced the story I think. Hopefully in the next book we will get a bit more. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mind to thrill
This was a 'page turner', very enjoyable escapism. Some predictable events, a little bit too 'held back' even for an ex special forces working under civilian rules of engagement. But enjoyable none the less. Let's see how the next episode fairs.
