A Touch of Death (Reaper Book 1) Kindle Edition
Death is there to guide her as she makes the journey into the unknown, but he seems to have his own agenda—which involves getting her naked. He wants to show her what they could have together. But then there’s Nathan, who wants to be more than just her paramedic partner. Competing with Death for her attention might be more than Nathan can handle.
Will Jael find a balance that will keep her secret safe, or will her new role as Grim Reaper force her to walk away from the two most important men in her life?

- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2022I loved this book. I can't wait to for Jael to discover more about her powers. I would love to see Cleg and Nathan find their soulmates.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2014Although I've seen the plot line in other stories, Marissa Dobson makes it unique through her character development. Jael is a girl I can relate to, and that helps a lot. She is also a classic anti-hero, insisting she won't get involved with what Death is proposing. Marissa does a great job of showing Jael's reluctance at getting involved with her fate, but she ends up finding something close to happiness in the end. As usual, Marissa's writing is fun, and the story is fast-paced. Having read earlier stories of hers, I can definitely see the improvement in her writing, the depth of her characters, and her story development. I look forward to reading future books and novellas.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2014i really wanted to like this book. But the heroine was supposed to be tough but ended up a wimpy follower. The book was all over the place You could tell it had been longer. but parts were chopped together. Characters would talk about a scene that was gone. i tried hard to enjoy it but bottom line is that even at .99 it was a waste of money. and time.... If you like the idea there are better book choices. One I liked with the same idea is First grave on the right by Jones, Darynda . Same idea but much better written.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2017Sets up the Reaper series. Introduces the characters and begins building the world of Jael and her brother Cleg. There is a killer where she works as an EMT and Cleg is the detective in charge of the investigation. With the passing of their mother, Jael learns that she is now the Grim Reaper as well as all the things her mother never told her but told her brother. Now she must deal with becoming the Grim Reaper.
I liked these characters. I could understand Jael's trepidation with becoming the Grim Reaper. I liked how she handles it and how she helps others cross over. The world building is good. I look forward to more in this series. It is different and refreshing.
