A War to End All Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 130 ratings

A war, then. A war of our own. A war for perfection and cleanliness and order.
A war to end suffering.
A war to end filth and disease.
A war to end immorality and injustice.
A war to end blasphemy.
The last war this world would ever see.
A war to end all.

REVIEWS:

"The epitome of grimdark fantasy; a bloodbath of irredeemable characters and terrifying monsters duking it out in a delusional world covered in muck. If you call yourself a fan of the sub-genre, this series is a necessity. My Top Read of 2023." --FanFiAddict

"The brilliance of delusional writing of Michael Fletcher had me in awe. I don’t know why I cried at the end of this book though."
--Liza ❤️LIBROCUBICULARIST❤️

"For this is a work of such magnitude, people will be talking about it for a long time."

Michael R. Fletcher lives in the endless suburban sprawl north of Toronto. He dreams of trees and seeing the stars at night and being a ninja. He is an unrepentant whiskey-swilling reprobate of the tallest order and thinks grilled cheese sandwiches are a food group.

His novels include the Manifest Delusions trilogy (BEYOND REDEMPTION, THE MIRROR'S TRUTH, A WAR TO END ALL), the Obsidian Path trilogy (BLACK STONE HEART, SHE DREAMS IN BLOOD, AN END TO SORROW), the City of Sacrifice trilogy (SMOKE AND STONE, ASH AND BONES, SIN AND SORROW), and the standalone novels, SWARM AND STEEL, GHOSTS OF TOMORROW, THE MILLENNIAL MANIFESTO, NORYLSKA GROANS (co-written with Clayton W. Snyder). He also has a short story collection A COLLECTION OF OBSESSIONS.

The whole series is fantastic. The ending is something that fits perfectly and makes sense but I did not see it coming. Dark, brutal, gore, funny, and everything in between.

This series does take some time to get into and I had a lot of doubts at first.

Towards the end of the first book it hooks you and will keep you reading until the end.

This series is unlike anything I've read before. Just f-ing WOW! The German based names and terms took a little getting used to but the story itself is AWESOME! Definitely worth a read IMHO

Something felt disjointed here. There really doesn't seem to be a specific plot, but rather an over emphasis on weird characters being weird for weirdness' sake. It was a let down from the first two books. I like Fletcher's writing partner, Snyder, but am unsure why he was necessary to help complete this trilogy.

I read redemption to the war to end all... and still wanting more ...I've recommended to almost anyone that knows how to read lol and or anyone that appreciates a combination of brilliant writing and creating a world that makes you wonder...

A War to End All is the concluding novel in the Manifest Delusions trilogy. Overall, this is a worthy ending to what was often a dark, demented, and hilarious series.

With the rest of the series helmed by Fletcher, book 3 brought in the talented Mr. Clayton W. Snyder, author of SPFBO 9 finalist Cold West (also a wonderfully dark read). I haven't read many novels with collaborations, but I had read these authors' previous book together Norylska Groans, so I came into this with the expectation that the tone/voice would not be thrown off by the inclusion of Snyder. I was not let down. I'd actually be curious to know which POVs were written by who!

Book 3 picks up where book 2 leaves off, which at first was a bit confusing since I'd read The Mirror's Truth years ago. But after a few chapters, the events came flooding back, so no issues there.

A War to End All is insane... in a dark, bloody, fantastic way. In a book where the delusions of the main characters come to a head, I was not disappointed. If I had anything I wished more of, or changed, two of the main characters from the previous novels don't have the conclusions I'd hoped for. In fact, besides mentioning one another, they didn't have an interaction. But I know I can't have it all! If I had to pick a favorite character interaction, it'd have to be between Doubt and the talking horse. There's some comic gold in these pages, I swear.

If you haven't picked up book 1, Beyond Redemption, please do so you can reach the end of this mind shattering series.

A delusion to end all delusions, this book is the end of possibly the most insane series I have ever read. Dark, violent, and yet still containing moments that almost brought a tear to my ever dry eyes. Horrifically beautiful

Random things just happen, story threads start and just peter out. Book is a collection of ideas but does not really have a cohesive plot.
