5.0 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

What if humans could live forever?

After his release from prison, Saule embarks on a quest to find an old friend and reintegrate into everyday life. But like many synthetics, he faces a society that favours humans, struggling against their discrimination and mistrust towards his kind.

During his efforts to rebuild his life, Saule discovers that he’s become the latest target of an experimental technology aimed at reducing the synthetic population on The Ring. With time running out, he reluctantly teams up with a private investigator to expose the conspiracy threatening synthetics, hoping to save his life and reconnect with his lost friend.

But as they unravel a web of deceit, they uncover implications far more dangerous than they imagined – implications that Saule can potentially use to his advantage.

Hello! As you may have already guessed by now, my name is Elliot Kincaid. I'm a British-Kenyan author best known for my cyberpunk mystery "Exodus Blue", which is the first book in the dystopian science fiction saga "The Colour of Blood". I love spinning tales that mix suspense, adventure, and a bit of the fantastical, and started doing so as a screenwriter in Canada. Writing has always been my passion, and I’m thrilled to share my stories with readers who crave a good escape.

5.0 out of 5 stars This thrilling series only gets better

This series only gets better as it goes along, taking the crumbling technoir investigations and adding in so much more as we delves into the future world of The Ring. There aren't many modern sci-fi thrillers that ask the question "what is it to be human", let alone page-turning indie releases.

The plot is satisfyingly complex while being easy enough for a casual sci-fi fan to follow. There's action, emotion, and twists you won't see coming. Some scenes are set either in the distant past (Saule is over 500 years old after all), others just ahead of where the main story takes place, which add such creepy foreshadowing of events you'll be turning those pages non-stop. I absolutely love how the plot is woven from strands laid down previously, transitioning seamlessly from old characters to new. With cameo appearances from those characters we've come to know from previous books, and a hint of romantic tension hidden amidst the mega corporation mystery and philosophical musings, it really has it all.

If you liked previous books in the series, you'll like this one. If you haven't started the series; why not? Intelligent sci-fi written like a pro doesn't come along every aeon.
