If you want to "get away" from life for a while, read Brenda's books! It's great to start with her first publication for the Alpha's but you certainly don't have to! Each book has it's own plot, twists, romance and action! You'll love getting to know the Alpha's!

    This is my fourth book in the Alpha Chronicles series and the author continues to tempt me to believe her vampire characters could be living in my neighborhood. I had never dabbled in paranormal; so I was skeptical when I read the first book. I am now a fan and almost a believer. The focus of the Alpha Council in the previous books was to uphold honorable standards and to capture/punish/eliminate rogue vampires – and to woo their heartmates. This book introduces a new force to challenge the Alphas – the demons. The demons have captured Demetri, the hero of this book, to use for scientific experimentation to discover how vampires regenerate and fight off human diseases.

    I love Ms. Sparks’ word pictures! When she describes it, you can see it, feel it, and taste it. I especially enjoyed the detailed description of the wedding romance, drama, and perhaps a foreshadowing of a future book. There are lots of twists and turns as the hero tries to capture his heartmate and the heroine tries to elude his intentions.

    I recommend this book to those who enjoy romance and its challenges, coupled with suspense, paranormal, and the will to survive.

    This is the first book I have read by this author. This genre is my favorite, but this book was just meh for me. I loved the writing style and character development. I just didn’t have the connection with the characters. I did not know this wasn’t the first book in the series but I didn’t feel lost.

    Demetri and Tatiana are heartmates and Tatiana spends years avoiding him. Once she is summoned by the council to track him down after he is captured by demons, she can’t avoid him. Will she give in and just be with her heartmate?

    Good plot with twists that are really fun! But I do think the hero was somewhat misogynistic at moments...so I do wish he had been a little more progressive in that area.

    I feel bad for this rating I truly do. This story had so much potential but it felt disjointed. I was also unaware when this was presented to me that it’s more than likely the third in a series so maybe that’s why I felt lost. I have also never heard of alpha vampires or maybe I have but they weren’t marketed that way.

    Tatiana and Demetri are vampires. Not just any vampires but heartmates and alphas at that. Tatiana is very strong and independent and doesn’t want the bond with Demetri. When Demetri is taken prisoner by a mad scientist demon, things start to take a turn. He is used to being the typical male but can’t figure out why Tatiana won’t act like his ideal female. They have a mystery to solve and now may not be the time to figure out their chemistry.

    I liked the thought of the story . I just had a hard time following and this totally may be me. Alpha vampires are a new breed for me. I liked the idea of an enforcement agency of vampires. Everyone needs to be policed I assumed even the supernatural. I think with some polishing this could be a good story.
