    This is my first time reading one of Lexxi’s stories and I absolutely loved it.
    The storyline was excellent, it was emotional at times and very steamy others with a dark element included to keep you intrigued.
    A great mix of bickering and bantering between the couple kept the story interesting and me wanting more.
    The side characters were also well written and extremely likeable.
    I’m certainly looking forward to reading the other brother’s and also Brian’s stories.
    I’d definitely recommend reading this book.

    I loved everything about this book. The writing, the drama, the twist and turns, dialogue, back and forth, and the characters. The characters were well developed and I really liked Mark’s character.
    The one downside of this story was to me, was the whole mission where her brother and Mark had career ending injuries was never fully explored. And the whole scenario with him not wanting to see her in the hospital was touted but again, never truly divulged. I kept thinking we would get to read the whole scenes from those times, but it never came. That was actually a part I was most looking forward to. I just feel with those pieces missing, some the dots weren’t truly connected for me, which was disappointing. But still a great read.

    It’s got a little of everything small town girl and older brothers best friend 2nd chance. Jess is all fight the baby sister of 3 older brothers. Surviving is all Jess has known. Mark made Jess a promise one night and everything changed.

    I loved the story the time jump was a little much for me I’m not a fan of giant jumps like that. The plot started off super good and kept my attention. I was really only disappointed in how he so easily forgot Jess wasn’t interested in his money and never listened to her. It always took a good smack on his head for him to wake up.

    I was also disappointed there wasn’t an epilogue at the end. I definitely wouldn’t the number of starts bc of that though! I was just hoping for more HEA for them they were so hot and cold throughout the book.

    I do recommend this book! You will laugh, cry, want to though your book, kindle, ect… but you will want to find out how it ends!

    This isn’t a quick romance read, it has suspense, realistic development of romance and takes it times to really go through barriers/issues but without it feeling like it is too slow. The pace was perfect.

    I don't even know where to start with this. It's a chaotic, annoying, over the top mix of tropes with unreasonable characters. It started with a brother's best friend then enemy to lovers then militarily to billionaire CEO mafia desaster. Throw in a wee bit of infertility and small town second chance at love plot in et voilà: probably one of the worst books I've read in the past years. I particularly don't like when problems between the main characters are caused by miscommunication, which is pretty much the lowest form to form a storyline. I really struggled finishing this one. Every time I thought it's finally coming to an end some random kidnapping/ blackmail / crazy random person happens and the plot is "twisted" again. Ugh.

    I was looking forward to this book, having previously met Mark and Jess in the Alex Drake series although you don't need to have read them to enjoy the book. I loved the way the story developed embracing issues from a longer period to help make sense of where characters are. There was something that could have been dealt with directly between the main characters, although the reader definitely understand the reality. There were some issues that pulled at the heartstrings, but also other story threads that made it hard to put down.
    I liked the way family was important, although there were also some challenges that went with that but the love was evident. The calling in of the big gun in the form of Mark's mum made me smile, Mrs D is a great character.
    The impact of military service was evident, but handled sensitively. The inclusion of the challenge that amputees can face worked well in the story in a natural way.
    I will look forward to future stories in the series and will no doubt read this again because it's a great story.
