    Romantic suspense is my favorite genre, and this gripping tale definitely ticks all the boxes! The twisty plot kept me turning the pages as our hero and heroine struggle to unravel deadly secrets held by elusive killers. The story is filled with danger, murder mystery, nail-biting suspense, slow burn romance, and stunning revelations I never saw coming!

    I won't summarize the plot, because I don't want to spoil this gem. Be prepared for lots of twists and surprises on this wild, terrifying journey from rural Alabama to Texas and back again. I took a few notes to keep track of all the villains, but I still have one question: whatever became of Cal, the villain who escaped in Ocean Springs? I kept expecting him to reappear at some point, but he never did.

    Kudos for immersive settings in the Gulf Coast states, likable characters (except for the villains), and limited profanity (only five f-bombs). I'm so glad I discovered this talented author, and I look forward to reading more of her books. This one easily earns five stars from me.

    The author brings it all to the table with this romantic suspense that keeps you guessing as to what is going on for much of the book.

    In the prequel book Dancing in the Dark we knew that JP Blackmon was missing. We knew he worked for some covert agency and was either dead or on the run. Turns out he is being framed for treason and trying to stay alive from those that want him dead. When he thinks that his partner is the one that betrayed him he goes to his wife hoping to get answers only to find out he’s been dead a year which doesn’t help him in clearing his name.

    Abby Price was considerably younger than her husband but she did love him and their son. She has had a year to mourn him but also time to wonder what really happened to him and about all the secrets he kept from her and if she really knew him at all. When JP shows up, she finally sees it as her chance to get some answers. What she doesn’t count on is the attraction she feels for JP even though he is hiding just as many secrets as her husband did.

    These two end up on a search for the truth that has them constantly in danger from the unknown person who killed his partner and framed him. During their perils these two also fight their attraction to each other.

    The author manages to capture your attention right from the start and keeps it through out with plenty of on the edge of your seat moments.

    It lets you think about all of the men and women who stand up for us in so many different ways defending our freedom.
    Truly the best part of the story goes to their humanity, the people they love and of course how sexy they can be.

    I loved it. Great story and I almost got an ulcer anticipating what was coming next. He is an agent with the government, if I told you what he did, he would have to kill you!!!! He is one hot shot guy. Great hero. In the book Dancing in the Dark, he is the missing brother. In this book, we find out why he is missing and what is going on with him. He is being set-up as a rogue agent so everyone is after him.

    He meets Abby, the widow of his dead partner. She is 4 years older than him and has a young son. He goes to her to try and get answers because it looks like his partner set him up to take the fall. However, his mind has changed when he starts to remember the guy his partner really was. So now, who is the villain in this story? It is up to him to find out and it won't be easy since everyone it seems is trying to kill him.

    This started off with wild adventure and it continued on every page. There is a romance taking place as the two slowly come together. She is his best friend and partner's widow. That creates a problem for him. She is older and fears that he is just a one night stand type of guy and that is a problem for her. But nothing is ever as it seems.

    I really liked the story, the characters and the plotline. Great book, I highly recommend it.

Abby' s dead husband had secrets he kept from her.When his partner J.P. shows up a year later, he is on the run, believing Wade betrayed him. Together, he and Abby, go on the run looking for proof of J. P.'s innocence and the truth about Wade' s last hours. Very well-written with intriguing characters that will keep you turning the pages.

I kept hoping that the characters I really liked were the good guys. I kept hoping for a happy ending. You will have to read the book to find out for yourself. I don’t do spoilers. Enjoy!

    I liked it. Great characters. I connected with them. Good length. The only thing that bugged me was I felt like some parts dragged out WAY too long. Sort of like when someone spends ten mins telling a story, that should have only taken a minute tops. What made it worse is that those times happened a lot.
    It was pretty good though. It was worth the read.
