Emerie began writing in her thirties, following a series of life changes that allowed her the time to put pen to paper. She has a love for both romance and fantasy, and hopes to eventually span both genres. After writing four novels, she decided to make the leap into publishing with Audiophile, her power ballad debut.

As Emerie questioned her role amidst her family, her faith, and her sexuality, her characters did as well. Her novels live happily in the gray margin, where nothing is cut and dry, good or evil, truth or lies.

Emerie yearned for sex-positive, complex stories that center around midlife adults, and brings those themes to life. She takes the traditionally sensual themes of adult romance and expands on them with beautifully messy connections in the form of friendship, family, and community. Just as likely to make you giggle, sigh, and cry, Emerie strives to write novels that spark thought and empathy, and will stay with you long after the pages shut.

A California girl at heart, Emerie soaks up the sunshine with her fur companion, BB, as often as she can. She's a lover of iced coffee, Danish pastries, Sunday waffles, big families, and kayaking. Sensory girlie? You need this book!!!
Wow wow wow!!!! What else is there to even say?!Was I surprised by how much I liked this book? Yes. Did I expect to fly through it in 2 days? No. Do I regret it? Not for one second!!!!I do not even have words to explain how much this book meant to me! Just the privilege I feel for being able to receive this as an ARC and to be able to converse with the author throughout my read was insurmountable. But then to read the book and relate to it on the level that I do…. Loss for words. 💕I relate to Petra on such a personal level that I felt like I was reading a book that was somehow written about me without my knowledge. Her depression, her insecurities, her lack of intimacy and fear of it, I feel all of that to my core! And then we have Reed!!!😍😍 he is an actual angel and knowing everything he went through yet his number one priority throughout the whole book is to ensure Petra’s comfort and boundaries and it’s just perfect!🫶🏼This is not your traditional romance book, these characters are flawed and their lives a little messy… but that makes it all the more relatable. They helped each other heal when neither of them even realized they were at a point where they needed it the most. And the spice yall, it’s different than anything I’ve ever read… in the absolute best way possible. I unwittingly learned a lot about myself during some of the scenes🔥🔥10000% needs to be on your immediate TBR!Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I was shunned to read that this book is Emerie Hart's debut novel because everything about this book is perfection.
Beautiful cover, amazing story with such relatable characters and everything is written so flawlessly and engagingly that I devoured the whole thing in one go.

It's the story of Petra, a woman who has been broken by loss and betrayal and is living back with her parents as a shell of herself. Her only bright spots in life are the fantasy stories she writes for herself and her twice-a-week subscription to an erotica narrator called Daddy Knight. His voice speaks to her long lost libido and provides a gentle reconnection to her body's needs.

But one day, while working her boring job at the cash register, she suddenly recognises the sexy voice coming out of the man across the conveyor belt. Reed is just passing through the tiny town and has scars of his own, but the sweet and clearly embarrassed woman in front of him awakens something in him he can't let go. Somehow, their broken souls both needed someone to see them for who they really are and not just the scars they bear. And this encounter starts an incredibly beautiful journey of healing spiced up with the most delicious, audio embracing dirty talking ever seen on writing. I really hope the author makes it into an audiobook as well because I have to hear everything Reed says narrated in a deep, sexy voice, and I bet we'll c@m just as easily as Petra 🔥

I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I honestly was expecting more spice, but this read was much more plot which I really enjoyed. The characters were great and I really liked reading about them.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, as this author is new to me and doesn’t have a large body of work (yet!) but it surprised me and is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Hart wrote a charming story about two kindred spirits who find each other when they are at their lowest, both dealing with trauma, grief and depression. Instead of relying on tropes, you have these two fall in love as they spend time together and battle their demons. As someone who has spent her entire life dealing with depression, Petra’s behaviors really resonated with me (I have a lot of text messages to respond to). Reed was a wonderful book boyfriend without the over the top golden retriever/he falls first/ instalove nonsense. It wasn’t the spiciest thing I’ve ever read but it had enough to satisfy. There was a fair amount of religion, more than I’ve seen in a spicy romance, but even my hardcore atheist self was not offended; it was thoughtful and a part of their characters, not preachy, and LGBTQ characters were present and accepted. Plus, I do listen to that kind of audio and live in a small town in the PNW, so I enjoyed the premise and setting immensely.

If you’re looking for a sweet romance with a bit of spice, realistic characters and an earned HEA that’s well-written, I would highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

The way both characters hold themselves within the book is so inspiring. Going through unspeakable trials and devastating loss, yet coming out and choosing to trust someone not only with your heart again, but in their case, their bodies. Hearing about Reeds struggle with the law and protection is gut wrenching as well, no one should have to suffer through those situations regardless of gender & it’s so sad so many do. Petra is probably one of the strongest characters I’ve ever read, she just pulled me in as soon as I got through the first page. Watching how much Petra relaxes around her family finally and truly opens up about Natalia is so wonderful. I cried happy and very sad tears while reading this. And it will be on my list to read again, as well as anything else made by Emerie.

Audiophile is an emotional ride. You're instantly drawn to the characters because they are so real. They find one another in their heartbreak and heal together. It's challenging to write a romance that takes place on a short timeline, but Emerie Hart shines in this, as the chemistry between Petra and Reed is on fire from the start and builds to an action-packed finale. Every bit of this MMC is a green flag, which I love to see in a romance with a bit of kinky spice.

Petra and Reed are a dreamy match, and I want them to be real!!

I was torn between four or five stars just because there were a few moments where I wished some of the serious conversations being had weren’t deflected by the characters but over all I really enjoyed this book and these characters so I just rounded up🥰

When Petra and Reed meet they are two wounded and hurt people just trying to keep their heads above water. The way that Reed (almost) immediately recognized the pain Petra was hiding from everyone else and decided to make it his mission to put the light back in her eyes I was a GONNER.

And then when Petra, saw Reed for the sweet and loving man that he is and not just his body or his character….in just got gooshy with emotions 🥹

This book definitely delivered on the hurt/comfort front♥️ and maybe I missed the memo but I was surprised at how spicy it was! I’m not mad about it I just didn’t expect it. And for the lack of actual P in V s*x it was SO spicy😉 if you enjoy praise/ dirty talk I’d say you’ll thoroughly enjoy Reed and Petras bedroom (and not bedroom) antics 🔥

GAH this book is filled with mature themes. Heartache, loss, and moving with your grief through life. The way these characters interact with each other, and themselves, is so HEALTHY. If you want a good, spicy read with MC’s who are not and do not act 16 then pick it up. You won’t be disappointed.

I loved loved loved the first half! It’s full of healing and safety and comfort, plus some truly excellent smut. Then, around the halfway point, I started to get bored and Kinley’s involvement was so obvious, that I got annoyed at the MCs. I’m really glad they got their HEA, though, it made my heart happy.
