Aviator: A Grumpy / Sunshine Forced Proximity Romance (First to Fight Series Book 9) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 140 ratings

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Blanchard comes a forced proximity military romantic suspense.

There’s only one man who can help me…and he’s a stubborn jerk.

Dean Tyler. Former U.S. Marine Aviator who gave up his career to live in self-imposed exile in the mountains. He’s broody, ruggedly handsome, and pulls a gun on me the second I darken his doorstep. But I stand my ground. Because I need his help to find my sister—and I’m willing to do whatever it takes.

When our engine fails and we’re stranded in the wilderness, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll make it out alive or if this man will be the death of me.

I’m not her hero…

…but Kenna Lynch looks at me like I could be. And—damn her—the longer we’re stuck together the more I want to be.

As we uncover a web of lies, deceit, and betrayal, it doesn’t take long for me to realize the biggest danger we face isn’t the mountain or the elements, but someone who is willing to kill to keep their secrets.

I’ll have to do whatever it takes to keep Kenna safe, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll be her hero after all.

Aviator takes place in the First to Fight series, but may be read as a standalone.

Small town heroes and happily ever afters

Hey y'all! I like my books like I like my tea: heavy on the sweet stuff and preferably served by a man in uniform. While the majority of my books are romantic suspense with first responders or former military, I also like to write aliens, dark romance, and the occasional paranormal, but what they all have in common are the hard won happily ever afters with real heroes.

I recently found the First to Fight series. I have read the first 7 books and by far this is my favorite. Dean is a grumpy pilot with PTSD from his last deployment to the Middle East. Kenna's sister and boyfriend are missing. Being the big Sis who has to take care of everyone in her orbit, Kenna takes off for the mountains where Kenna was last heard from so she can hire Grumpy Dean to take her to the spot where she was last known to be. Unfortunately, there are some bad players who do not want Dean and Kenna to find out what they've been doing and so the helicopter crashes. It is a good solid story that is definitely enjoyable. I highly suggest it.

    Main Characters: Kenna and Dean
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
    4 out of 5 stars
This is First to Fight Series Book seven. I however read this as a standalone. Wow, sure I was not too fond of Dean's character for the first half of the book. I wanted to quit reading because I found him so unlikeable. I loved the down-to-earth real Lynch family of girls. When it appears that Kenna's sister might be missing, she looks for what happened to her. I found it odd when Kenna finally figured out what (former Navy pilot) Dean's problem was and he then became a much more likable person, and at that point, Kenna wasn't doing too much worrying about her missing sister. There is danger, suspense, fun, and sweet. This book has a cliffhanger regarding Kady who is Kenna's sister but otherwise a HEA ending. Now I hope to read the rest of the series. I think you all will love this book.

Aviator will keep you guessing. It involves, kidnapping, attempted murder ,conspiracy and most of all family. The care and love of Kenna for her family is interwoven throughout the entire book. She is a giver not a taker and yet alot of the people in her life are takers. Dean hides from everyone except his grandfather. Th
e two of the together set off sparks. The twists and turns will keep you guessing and you will not want to put this book down.

A riveting read that will hold your attention, great characters and wonderful plot
This is a simply riveting read and I guarantee that once you begin reading this simply wonderful book that you will not be able to put the book down till you reach the end and discover the final riveting outcome, I guarantee that you will not put the book down until you reach the outcome for each character.
The dean Tyler’s motto is a survivor he has been through so much having gone through Afghanistan and all the horrors that this involved, he cannot wait to return home but when he does he discovers the unthinkable and that is they have both died in an accident and he is alone.
He discovers that Lynch’s sister Kady has been kidnapped and they have not been able to find her, one of the possibilities is that Dean might be able help. When he realises that both of their lives are possibly in great danger and they have to rely on each other no matter what, this ia a dramatic read and I guarantee that you will find this a captivating and innovative read.
assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

3.5 Stars for Dean and Kenna's story. It was very entertaining. I didn't rate it higher because there was no epilogue unless you signed up for the authors' newsletter. This was the problem for me with the first several stories and then thankfully the Story of Callum had an epilogue! Now, here we go again... No epilogue. Jenna is desperately looking for her sister so she seeks grumpy Dean out since her sister is dating Jaime his marine buddy. These stories are one big story that is why there are cliffhangers, which I don't like to be honest with you.

I loved Dean and Kenna. The chemistry between them is off the charts. Kenna would do anything to protect her sisters ... even put up with the grumpy Dean. I loved how she talked and talked, even when Dean would just grunt in reply. At the beginning I thought Dean was a real jerk ... but it didn't take long for me to do a 360. I love the suspense and romance in this series and this book is a fantastic addition. I can't wait for Jaime and Kady's book next.

When Kenna's sister Kady and her boyfriend Jaime go missing, she tracks down Jaime's friend to help her. She just didn't expect him to greet her at the his door with a shot gun in his hand and refuse to help her ... until he hears that she will pay for his help. After Dean's grandpa has a stroke, they are drowning in hospital bills. So even though flying Kenna up the mountain with a snow storm coming is not a good idea, he agrees and hopes they can be back before the storm hits.

This book was an unexpected surprise. In all honesty I wasn't sure if I would even like this book. I remember when I got my first glimpse of Kenna and Dean. Something about them just didn't make me excited. So I debated if I wanted to push on and get to know them more. Kenna's first chapter wasn't my favorite. She just seemed lack luster and way to self conscious. But I told myself to keep pushing. I'm glad I did. I loved Kenna's determination.. though I have to admit I thought she was absolutely stupid to willingly want to fly into a snow storm the way she wanted to... and I loved grumpy Dean. That man had a sad story. I understand why he was the way he was. But I'm so happy Kenna was able to pull him out of himself. Even with all that the story detailed and these two falling in love my absolute favorite part of this story was when Kenna realized Dean was right. She was a princess. That part cracked me up! This was a beautiful story full of self discovery and forever love. But it still feels incomplete to me. There are still to many unanswered questions...

Loving this series, the first few with their individual stories but with the characters overlappping into the other books. But these last few stories have been a thrilling adventure of lies, deceit and love. Fab stories and characters 😍🤩
