    Loved these six books. They might be short, novella sized, but they are packed with adventure and danger. It's not till the sixth book that romance becomes a strong part of the story, but even here there's betrayal and kidnapping. I loved these books so much in fact after finishing them for the first time, I went back and read them all again.
    I've love Katy Haye's work since reading the Fire Thorn series, which starts with Dragon Thief.

    When I saw the description "Sweet, reverse harem" I was like, wait ... what???
    But it totally works. Ms Haye lures us into the magical world with sassy sisters fleeing their home and I felt the same thrill as when I met Katniss and Prim for the first time. But I quickly forgot them as their tale unfolded and the author skilfully built the world around them without me even noticing - I was much too caught up with my new favourite heroine. I never thought I’d get over reaching the end of the Clockwork War series, but Kyann is like a different facet of my beloved Clara. And already two more in the pipeline! Boxes Ticked.
    One of Ms Haye’s biggest talents is making you care for her characters within a line or two, and she sure has fun with Kyann, giving her four yummy kings to protect. Yep you read that right - SHE protects THEM. Even though they can control the elements. Truly Scrumptuous.
