Where did you get the idea for your books?
Short answer, "That is NOT fair!"

The long answer, from FAIR SHARING IN VISUAL MATHS FRACTIONS — A True Story.

One day, a friend of mine bought a pizza for her 3 children after school.
Mum divided the pizza into three thirds.

But, the one third for the older boy broke down into two sixths.
And the younger was not happy!
"That is NOT fair!" he yelled.

He would not stop crying... till my friend and I suggested that the boys swap their shares of pizza.
To which they agreed.

I was already working in education (schools and colleges) and I have observed how children and even some grown-ups struggle with basic maths fractions.
But this breaking experience was so deep — I had to do something there and then.

I started sketching and scribbling in children's exercise books, notepads and on loose sheets of paper. This was very helpful but repetitive.

Next, I converted those sketches and scribbles into handout notes and worksheets to help as many children as possible.

Finally, those notes and worksheets were turned into full books for the masses.
In short, FRACTIONS VISUALLY (TM) was born!
To help Folks Who Find Text-based Fractions No Fun master maths fractions :-)
