Bryson: Hockey Romance (Boston Bay Vikings Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 203 ratings

Bryson
Girls have thrown themselves at me before—I'm not interested in them. But there is one woman I wish would throw herself at me. She's stunning and has my blood racing through my veins. She knows it too. My niece's teacher, Ms. Emery Griffin, makes it her mission to ignore me.

Even though I'm juggling my current life—my sister and niece, my career as a defenseman for the Boston Bay Vikings, and my brain has been working overtime trying to come up with a plan to keep my friend and teammate in the States—I want the sexy teacher in ways she's unaware of.

Emery
Bryson Maverick is a handsome man with a fan base the size of Boston. I labeled him as a player, but I was mistaken. I'll admit it. The man is much more than I expected, and he is a threat to my heart. The easy part is letting him in, but what should a girl do when he wants to keep me out?

Then there is Robbie Fields, my troubled student who elicits all my protective instincts. With Bryson’s help, we make a shocking discovery that has ramifications for Bryson’s friend and teammate, Ivan Pavlov.

Meet Bryson Maverick and Emery Griffin in the sixth book of the Boston Bay Vikings series by NYT and USA Today bestselling author, Lexi Buchanan.

Very happy with this story. It had the love I was expecting, but also some suspense that I was not. Great read.

Bryson and Emery are absolutely perfect for one another, and I loved how she bought all his friends and new teammates gifts.

    There are spoilers here.

This wasn’t particularly well written perhaps because the story is so freaking short the author didn’t bother to spend enough time to develop the characters. There are a lot of holes in the story. If Bryson grew up in foster care who paid for him to play hockey because it isn’t cheap to learn. How long was he in prison and how did he get into the NHL after that? Why was there no discussion of birth control or use of a condom? What rationale was there for the damage Daniel did to Emery’s house? How did he know where she lived? All in all kind of a wasted effort. Two stars simply because I actually finished it. Otherwise it would’ve one star.

This was really poorly written, spelling mistakes in the 2nd chapter, no real character development & the story jumps about without structure.
It felt like this one was written over a glass of wine to meet a deadline without respect to the rest of the series that the author had already presented. I don’t have high expectations of a little romance- but this was soooo bad - if I hadn’t already pre-ordered the next book I probably wouldn’t bother.

Quick easy read, sweet superficial romance. A beach read except it happens to be January! This was escapism in a book, characters were likeable but didn't feel a deep connection.
