This was a difficult one for me to write. I've had Preston in my head for months (and months), but I kept putting him off because I knew what his story involved. A lot of freaking tears!

Going into this one, I knew I'd be throwing you all a curveball when it came to Preston. His playboy persona in the first two books is exactly what he wanted you to believe. He has secrets that will break your heart. They definitely did a number on mine. But, like any good HEA, he pulls you from the dark at the very best time.

Then you meet Emory, and OH, how I love this girl. I hope you will too!

This was another book I wrote in the middle of the night so I could mom by day. Life is hard folks, be kind to yourself and each other. If you love this book, please leave me a review. It helps more than you could know.

Avery Maxwell is an American contemporary romance novelist specializing in emotionally driven characters who bring love, chaos, heat, and a side of angst to every story she writes. She grew up in a tiny Vermont town with one flashing light and four stop signs. If you look closely enough, you can often find similarities between her small hometown and the stories she creates.

Avery now lives in North Carolina with her husband, four mini-humans, and two puppies. She fills her days with carpools and sporting events while using her nights to create stories that are impossible to put down.

When Avery isn’t on mom-duty or busy writing, you can find her at a concert or snuggling on the couch with a glass of wine and her very own Prince Charming.

4.5 stars!! This is book three of the “Broken Hearts” series. This can be read as a stand alone but the same characters are seen in all books with a sprinkle of new ones in each book. This book is dedicated to the playboy, Preston. I absolutely adore this story. I love this complete series because I love the characters so hard. Preston’s book really threw me for a loop. I definitely was not prepared. This book is hilarious!! This couple is corny and funny as heck. The characters relationships with each other are amazing and laugh out loud funny. What I found beautiful and brought me to tears, was the love they all have for each other. I held my own pretty good with this book. I didn’t cry. I held it in. But the last 30% of the book I broke many times. Not all sad tears, some happy, some just so impossibly beautiful tears. This couple makes you rethink everything. Live your life everyday like today may be the last. That is what I take from this book and boy did I need that reminder. Thank you Avery for producing a book that touched me to my soul. Made me feel comfortable like this could be my own friends and family. Her writing is gracious and flows so easily. This book was finished the same day I picked it up.

    Best book I’ve read in some time. The book takes you through a kaleidoscope of feelings as the story twists. Some books are so predictable but this one surprised me. I laughed I cried but it was all worth while. Highly recommend. Best so far in the series and the series has been quite enjoyable.

Emory is a doctor who has lost her medical license while there is an investigation into a situation with her ex boyfriend. She is hired by Preston to be his personal doctor at his home. As he gets sicker he falls for Emory. This book will have you crying and laughing.

    I do not know if I have ever read a book where I literally sobbed while reading it. This book is that good!! You definitely need to read this series from the beginning, with Cross My Heart. This is the 3rd book in the series. To get the full effect of this book and all the emotions that come with it, having a head start of all the characters and their history will ensure that you are completely invested in this story. For an author to be able to wring so much emotion from a reader is an amazing feat. And Avery Maxwell does this superbly. To be able to feel like you know these characters personally and to feel their emotion like they were your friend, allows the reader to fall into the story like they are actually there with them. I have read everyone Avery’s books, and this book is by far my favorite because of the emotion she was able to draw from the reader. I really don’t think I can put into words how much Avery is able to draw a reader into the story so deeply and so emotionally. Truly the best book I have ever read, and I have read hundreds of romance books…from very notable authors…and this is my all time favorite book. Thank you Avery! ♥️

It consumed me and even though there were moments when I thought my poor heart couldn’t take any more of Preston and Emory’s heartbreaking, heart-saving, until-there-was-you, romance. I cried and swooned and laughed along with this crazy family and this couple who completely stole my heart. I cannot say enough good thing about this story. I adored it. Carefully constructed, the story is delicately assembled and beautifully told. Avery Maxwell stole my heart with this book and solidified herself as a one of my new favorite authors.

    Preston is a billionaire playboy. What everyone doesn’t know is that it’s a ruse to hide the fact that he has the same genetic heart condition that took his dad’s life and will steal his without a transplant. Emory is a surgeon and his caregiver who is unable to practice bc of a bogus claim against her. She raised her three sisters and taken care of them every step of the way since her mom died, but Em has never had anyone take care of her. In order to hide his condition from his family as his condition begins to deteriorate, Emory agrees to be Preston’s fake girlfriend. And then, oh, holy swooning! It’s angst filled and beyond romantic. This is easily in my top ten reads of the year. I will say, the book left me with a lot of questions, but I have a feeling they will all be revealed as the series continues.

    Saving his Heart is third in the series and best appreciated read in order. This is my favorite in the series. 5 stars, 2 peppers

    I have smiled and blubbed so much through this, my other half even asked if I was ok! The story flowed well and even with sub stories, I never lost focus. I loved meeting new characters and seeing how things were going with old ones, the texting was fab and made me laugh at times. This was such a beautifully painful read but so worth it, nothing was held back and love shone so brightly throughout, even through the dark and pain.

    I fell in love with Preston and Emory, they were such brave, strong, caring and loving characters. There are so many characters I want to read more about but it's Loki's story next and I am getting myself ready to read that one as there are so many unanswered questions. I really loved reading every part of this book and it is being added to my read it again list.
