This Romance Story Has More Teeth But Set In The Fun Town Of Blue Moon
The stories grow with complication and intricacy, I really enjoyed the setup and dynamic of these two, Jax and Joey, who have a lot of history but not a future according to Joey. I enjoyed this story because of the series nature of the setup. Books 1 and 2 had a lighthearted beginning, this one is much more serious, and typically so as not all relationships begin with the possibility of happily ever after. How these two find love is quite original and filled with complications. A very nice setup of a Romance story. It does have humor but not in the development of Jax and Joey until a lot of ruffled feathers find a resolving place to lay.

    Another amazing trip to Blue Moon Bend! Now, after reading the first two stories in this amazing series, I was VERY excited for Jax and Joey's story. I mean, second chance love stories are one of my most favorite tropes. They did NOT disappoint! In between more hilarious Clementine hijinks, and a trip to the pound for puppy rescue that seriously has to go in the books for one of the funniest scenes I have ever read, lies a love between two people that is so ingrained, so natural and real that totally tug at my heart strings. Jax loves Joey and always has. He just needs to convince her that when he abandoned her all those years ago, that it was for the best.

    The thing I love most about this Small Town series, is the overwhelming love and adoration I feel for these characters that Lucy Score has created. They are so vibrant and they leap off the page. They're charismatic and full of emotion and life and love, all the things that make people so fun. They are real. I just can't get enough of the characters in Blue Moon. They rally and connive and push their noses into situations that aren't their business, and yet, they do everything out of love and respect and the genuine belief that they are doing good. It is a true community. And reading about it, makes so much joy burst in my heart.

    I loved being able to get a glimpse into the "real" John Pierce. The patriarch of the family. His writings turned me into a blubbering, slobbering idiot, but the heart and love that he had for his family was the real gift. He was trying to be a good husband, a good father, and a good farmer and being able to read his thoughts was a nice touch to this highly emotional story.

    I cannot stress enough that this series is full of heart, full of joy, full of life. These characters will make an impression on you. I have loved every single second of reading about the Pierce Brothers and their lady loves.

    As romances go, this one is good. The Pierce family and their lively farm make a warm, interesting setting.
    Perhaps the best character is a five year old girl named Aurora, aka Roar. She calls her step-dad, Beckett, “Bucket.”
    However, throughout this series, the evidently mandatory sex scenes, though hot, are repetitive and boring. In this, the third book, there are a couple of variations during the last such scene. But Score’s scenes mostly have the same bases touched in the same order. Male does steps 1, 2, 3, 4. Female melts. Then she does steps 5 and 6. Male loves them. Male does steps 7 and 8, and both melt.
    If sex can’t be varied in fiction, why take the time to write it? In real life, couples often fall into the same old steps in the same old orders.
    Why put these fictional characters into staid, repetitive sexual encounters when they could be inventive, creative, even a little wild?
    Sex camp for authors might help.
    This said, the many characters are well drawn. While the plot bogs down sometimes,soon something vivid happens to hold the reader. For example, the sudden trip to LA is a gem. It’s accurate, and it gives a welcome break from the farm and the town of Blue Moon.
    The next book in the series sounds like it may be even better than this one. On to the next!

    Ever since the first book in this series, I have been waiting for Jax and Joey's story! I knew there was a lot to talk about and so much chemistry between them. I also knew that Lucy Score would make their story shine, and she did in spades!!! This story gutted me, rebuilt me, made me swoon, laugh, and fall more in love with Blue Moon and it's residents then ever before!!!
    First, Joey is one kick ass heroine!! She's independent, loyal, loving, funny, smart, and beautiful. She also gave her heart away as a teenager and never got it back. But she's guarding that heart with everything she has, so she doesn't get hurt again. Unfortunately, for her brain, her heart is still very much in love with Jax and knows what it wants. Her brain just takes a little while longer to catch up.
    Jax, and his family, is amazing!! He's not perfect, since he's made several mistakes in regard to Joey, but he loves with his whole heart! My only real problem with him was I thought it took him too long to tell Joey why he left her 8 years ago. But, in true Pierce form, he made up for it with his actions and words. He and his brothers gave this book some of the funniest moments I've ever read!!! The only thing I'm going to say about that is, pet adoption!!! Nearly wet my pants during that chapter!!!
    Phoebe is the mother everyone should have!!!! She loves her own boys with everything she is, but she also loves all that she considers her family! She's an amazing women who has so much wisdom to share, as well as so much fun!!!
    This book was amazing, wonderful, great, awesome, etc!!! I love how Lucy Score writes because she draws you in and never lets you go, you become part of the story!!

    I think I want to live in Blue Moon, Lucy Score had sold me. Another well told story that had me laughing, shaking my head and reaching for my tissues. I had a feeling Jax and Joey's story was going to have some heartbreaking moments and it sure did.
    I loved the cleaning cupboard of truths, it was very clever.
