Christopher Artinian was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, he moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and has lived there ever since with his wife and dogs.

He released his debut novel, Safe Haven: Rise of the Rams, in February 2017. This was the first instalment in a post-apocalyptic zombie series. There are currently twenty-eight books available in the Safe Haven universe, including the best-selling and award-winning sister series, The End of Everything.

Also available from Artinian, is the fast-paced, best-selling survival horror trilogy, “Relentless”, and the new post-apocalyptic/dystopian series, "The Burning Tree".

In October 2017, he won the prestigious Zombie Book of the Month Award for Rise of the RAMs. In December 2017 he was also bestowed with the "Best New Author" award by the Reanimated Writers group. In addition, Safe Haven won the "Best Series" award in the popular GMZ poll. The End of Everything: Book 1 also won the Zombie Book of the Month title in May 2019.

    Christopher Artinian is one of my favorite authors in the zompoc genre and this foray into a new genre is just as good as his zombie apocalypse books. Wonderful characters, great world building and a great story make this a must read. The author's ability to build relationships between characters and make the reader care about them is one of the best things about his storytelling. But, there is plenty of action as well!

    The only thing that makes this wonderful book even better is the amazing talent of the narrator, Kim Bretton. Her performance brings the books to life and her voices are awesome. I also like the inclusion of the music that is used to convey switching between scenes. This helps a lot in audiobooks when you can't "see" that the perspective has changed like you can in written books. The addition of the mournful music throughout the book really sets the tone in a perfect way. And, the song "The Burning Tree" is one that will stick with me forever.

    This book also continues to educate the reader in the various ways that someone might be better able to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Mr. Artinian has definitely done a lot of research in this aspect and I appreciate the time that he devoted to this.

    There are also some thought provoking quotes that really stand out for me. "Sometimes things just happen and there's nothing anyone can do about it."
    "What the hell's wrong with people? They're never, ever going to change."

    I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves to read, even if this genre isn't your usual one. I can't wait to continue this series and see what happens next!

    What a great series! I went straight through this series, I couldn’t put it down and am in to the 6th in tge series now. I enjoy post apocalyptic fiction to understand how different people view the world and our chances for survival. This is a great foray into a “what might happen”. The character development is stellar, and I really love how the author grasps human nature and how that would be heightened in a stressful situation like living in bunkers. The first book sets you up to understand this world, and then you are in for great action and suspense. Keep them coming. This is a great read and a great listen on audible.

    Love these books! Every time a new one comes out I fly through it and then get sad cause I have to wait for the next…. All of Mr. Artinian’s are addictive and you’ll end up feeling like you’re in this world and on the journey with the characters…. I highly recommend these books

    A new twist on a catastrophic apocalypse & how we as a human race deal with it. The characters are very relatable and draw you in from the very beginning. Gut wrenching sometimes but also proof that the human race can overcome as they work together to rebuild life anew.

    Slow pace and predictable. Author is heavily leftwing, progressive and the tree hugger propaganda drips through the pages and all of the characters. Global warming kills the planet but conveniently an asteroid finishes them off. Main character us a naive 16-year old girl. Do not waste your time.

    Had high hopes for this after reading the reviews. I now am not sure if I can even make it through the first book. For one, it is EXTREMELY slow going. Then you throw in the evil capitalist and the anti meat and traditional farms (they are responsible for the climate change) and just for fun some socialism/communism class warfare propaganda I just couldn't listen anymore. On a positive note, the narration is very well done.

    Big fan of Mr Artinian’s work but I’m more into zombies so didn’t know what to expect with this and wasn’t sure it would be for me….. boy was I wrong. This author knows just how to keep you absorbed, he makes you get into the characters. I loved reading it and I also got audio too cos I love Kim’s narration. Highly recommend
