Felix's Christmas Mail Order Bride (Historical Western Holiday Romance) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 102 ratings

This Christmas, love arrives unexpectedly to Castle Rock—by stagecoach.

December 1876 – Felix Spencer has inherited his family’s mercantile, but everyone knows he’s never really had much business sense. His sister is getting married and moving away but worries her brother won’t be able to run the store on his own, so she tells him that he should look for a new accountant and put an ad out. As a joke, his best friend contacts an agency for a mail order bride/accountant to come. Felix is expecting a man, but a woman shows up instead— Bethany Thomas. Bethany loves numbers and organization, but she loses her family business when her father ends up in jail for debt. Her mother pushes Bethany to get out of Richmond Society and become a mail-order bride. Does she really need to leave everything she knows behind so close to Christmastime? Can unexpected Christmas magic spark love’s flame between a man with no bride and the woman who has traveled so far to win his wary affection?

This is a clean, wholesome, standalone novella written from a Christian worldview. It has a happily ever after and features down-to-earth characters with real world problems who overcome them by grace and love.

P. Creeden is the sweet romance and mystery pen name for USA Today Bestselling Author, Pauline Creeden. Her stories feature down-to-earth characters who often feel like they are undeserving of love for one reason or another and are surprised when love finds them.

P. Creeden married her college sweetheart, who she also met at a horse farm. Together they raise a menagerie of animals and their one son, an avid reader, himself. Animals are the supporting characters of many of her stories, because they occupy her daily life on the farm, too. From dogs, cats, and goldfish to horses, chickens, and geckos -- she believes life around pets is so much better, even if they are fictional.

I enjoyed reading this clean romance story. It has the normal reluctance to share their growing love with each other. I recommend this story for the young adult reader.

I enjoyed this sweet story as Felix and Bethany got to know each other and became friends and then more. I liked how loving and giving they each were. I enjoyed the family drama and the little bit intense moments. If you like mail order bride stories, you should read Felix‘s Christmas.

Felix Spencer comes back home to help out temporarily at the lighthouse and finds himself in the local bakery meeting Bethany Thomas, the widowed owner. Bethany is trying to hold her life together for the sake of her 10 year old son but her husbands past deeds catch up with her. Felix feels chased by the past of his father. This was a well written short historical romance with characters you'll surely root for!

Loved the camaraderie, the unique circumstances, the faith in God, and above all the generous souls. A delightful story to enjoy.

Bethany was brave to go through a mail order bride agency after her father was swindled and her family lost their home and business. Felix came off as immature at first but I had to remind myself he is only twenty one. He knows he needs help with the financials for the store but he isn’t ready to be married and is skeptical about Bethany’s skills until she proves herself. Add in a pair of runaway orphans and it’s the start of a new life and family for Bethany. This was a sweet kisses only novella romance.

This is a wonderful mail-order bride romance. Bethany went to Colorado as a mail-order bride knowing that her business and accounting skills were needed also. Felix thought he was getting a helper for the mercantile not a wife. Felix doesn't want a wife but he also knows he doesn't have the business sense needed to run the mercantile once his sister gets married and moves away. Felix's sister, Hannah, her fiance, Richard, and two cute orphans help make the story even better. If you like sweet, clean, christian mail-order bride romance, you will love this story.

The story starts with a couple of pranksters, and ends with best friends married and happier than they've ever been! While Bethany's family goes from devastation to picture perfect! I loved it!

Felix Spencer needs an accountant and a wife, or so his sister and best friend think. So they cook up an idea to send for a mail order bride who also happens to be an accountant. Bethany Thomas needs to leave her hometown and move west and hoping that her mother and father will follow her when they are ready. When she arrives in Castle Rock, Felix is expecting a man, not a beautiful woman. What is he to do now? He isn’t ready to marry, but strange feelings are overcoming him every time he’s around Bethany. Can this young man be thinking possibly this mail order bride might be just what he needed?

This is a Christian wholesome story about Felix Spencer and Bethany Thomas. Bethany is pleasantly surprised when she meets Felix. She thought she would end up with an older man. Nice interaction between the two of them while they got to know each other. The story has romance, fun, family and a surprise. The book can be read as a stand-alone even though it’s part of a series.
