Represented by Lorella Belli at LBLAUK and signed to Boldwood Books.
Shortlisted in 2014 Romantic Novelists Association RoNAs in the Contemporary Romance category for debut novel Bridge Over the Atlantic (later signed by Aria Fiction and rereleased as A Seaside Escape).
I've had what you could call a very varied career including time working as a singer and appearing on TV's Stars in Their Eyes in 1997. But writing has always been a deep rooted passion.
In 2012 my family and I relocated from England to our favourite place in the world, Scotland, and we are now happily ensconced in village life. The stunning location was the inspiration for my writing career and so it's only right that it features in all of my books.
I'm a happily married mum of one with two energetic dogs who make cameo appearances in some of my books. I love writing and creating new characters and now have the pleasure of owning my own bookshop.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2015HOLY SMOKES!!! Lissa Jay has completely blown me away with Bad Company! Let me start off by saying this is a new to me author. I saw some teasers and read the synopsis and decided to read the book. Well I finished reading Bad Company a couple days ago and I am still thinking of the characters! What a beautiful, angsty, heart wrenching story!!! This MC novel is different from any of the others I have read, and we all know I've read a bunch! The characters, the emotions, the writing, everything just flowed together so nicely and was written with perfection. Honestly, this is one of the best books I have read this year! I am so glad I found this gem. Lissa Jay will be on my favorite author list to follow for new releases!
Cameron and Kelly are the two main characters in Bad Company. Kelly is a Scottish psychologist who has been assigned Cameron as her patient. Cameron wakes up in a hospital in Scotland with no memory of how he got there or who he is. They both know that a relationship between them would be near impossible, but the feelings they have burn stronger each time they see each other.
And what happens when Cameron starts remembering things?
Can they make the impossible possible?
Even if you're not a fan of MC romances, I still recommend reading this book because it is just that good! Seriously, I highly recommend this book to pretty much anyone! It's a fantastic story that you will definitely want to read! Amazing job done by Lissa Jay.

4 stars!!
“In our connection we found a soul-deep love that no amount of miles, bullets or taboo situations could ruin.”
Lissa Jay is the alter ego of Lisa Hobman; she is using this pen name for her more “erotic” books rather than her contemporary romance. I love Lisa Hobman’s style of writing so I delved into this one eagerly, especially to see how her inherent ability to create intense character connection would manifest itself in erotica.
Firstly I would say, this is not your typical MC book and I wouldn’t go into this book expecting that kind of read. This is more a contemporary forbidden romance read with some suspense and some extra sexy times thrown in. The MC part of this book is more of a back story rather than at the forefront and the majority of this book is set in Scotland.
Cameron Iss is found near death at Ben Nevis, the only thing cluing anything in to his identity is a leather jacket, an iPod and a suicide note. Eventually Cameron awakes from his coma and it soon becomes apparent he has amnesia and also as he talks for the first time that he is also American. Now the games begin…who is Cameron Iss?
“I felt like I was on some dumb episode of effing Scooby Doo and someone’s mask was about to be removed. The only trouble was, it was mine.”
Kelly Darrow is a psychologist and her newest patient is the John Doe/Cameron Iss. It is her job to try and help him remember…any little snippets to help them to identify him and to find out how an American man can turn up in Scotland with no ID, no passport and no memory and also to ascertain whether he is still a suicide risk.
Cameron is the epitome of a biker; he had the leather jacket, the long hair and the tattoos. He also had the attitude and this man oozed confidence and sex appeal. But underneath that bad boy persona was a man who was confused, afraid and well out of his comfort zone. As flash backs and nightmares slowly begin to piece together his past, and after his DNA tests come back and identify him he soon realises that he doesn’t like what he finds out. The man he was is not the man that he wants to be, the man he wants to be would be deserving of his hot psychologist Kelly Darrow.
“The more I remember, the more I think I don’t deserve to be loved…by anyone.”
There is a lot of push and pull in this book as would expect with it being a forbidden romance, doctors and patients always have those ethical guidelines and Kelly tries her hardest to get over her feelings, but her connection to Cameron is on a deeper level. She has never formed any emotional attachments to any man and this is why she feels she cannot ignore her connection to Cameron, even though it is wrong, it feels so right.
“I had lost the one man I had ever felt a real emotional connection to. It was a doomed situation from the beginning. It was a love without hope and without foundation. And I doubted I would ever feel that way about anyone ever again.”
I did have a few issues with this book, she does fall for him while he is still in a coma…this for me personally didn’t sit right after all she knew absolutely nothing about him. Also, these guys have a lot of dream sex and while in the beginning it added to the story it soon became a little bit repetitive but none the less, it was still hot! I wanted them to be together more rather than just dreaming about it. I know they weren’t in the most ideal of situations but once Cameron was released from hospital this was the ideal time for them to really cement their feelings and explore the potential of their relationship and for me this just didn’t happen.
I loved Cameron’s time back in Utah trying to piece together what he had remembered and to sort out a vital part of his past (I am deliberately being vague because I don’t want to spoil anything). This was another part of the story I wanted more from but it has also brought us more characters that can easily be turned into more books!!
“…I would always be that one person.”
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Once again, Lisa delivered on the character connection and personally I am glad she gave us Cameron’s softer side, I loved that Jekyll and Hyde part of him and it showed how different his two worlds had become. Cameron’s confusion was believable and his conflicts both internally and externally rang true and while seeing a biker cry is not what you would expect, I couldn’t help but think that if I was in his shoes I would have been crying too. I must admit I did have a few well ups of my own while reading as I am a big softy.

What would you do if a hot man lands up as a patient of yours and he has no memory? This is the story of Kelly, a psychologist and Cain a man trying to regain his memory. The attraction between the two of them is instant. This story line is good and easy to follow. You will feel all the emotions and you grow with the characters. The sex is definitely one that could cause a blush to two. The story takes place predominately in Scotland, but then you also travel across to America. You are introduced briefly to the MC.
This was a perfect Sunday read for me and one that I really enjoyed

- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2016This book is mediocre.
It had a good mysterious suspenseful story.
But I found it a little boring and a letdown.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2015I struggled a bit with the Doctor /patient attraction at the start, but once I got over that and more into the book the story took off.
The lost memory and the attraction between them makes their lives difficult, with the push, pull towards each other.
Really enjoyed and looking forward to more.
Great start to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic MC romance
Bad Company by Lissa Jay
5* review by Nicole @ Nic’s Novel Idea
Lissa Jay knows how to write a fantastic and original piece of MC romance. Sensuous, sultry and so damn hot but with an actual storyline! Kelly is a psychologist living and working in Scotland when a strikingly handsome and mysterious tattooed man with an American accent and suffering from amnesia lands in her hospital. It’s through the professional relationship between patient and doctor that Kelly discovers the inner pain and heartache the intriguing stranger harbours, and from there the feeling and emotions involved become rather more complicated and risque.
‘Wordlessly she slipped off my lap, dropped to her knees, and sucked me into her hot, wet mouth. F**k, I’d wanted her mouth on me for so damn long. I gripped her hair, trying to stop the onslaught of pleasure. “Whoah, baby, slow down...f****ck...that’s too good...too f**king good.” She pulled away and smiled sexily up at me. “You said you wanted to come inside me, but you didn’t say where.” Oh, she was playing dirty. And I f**king love it.
Liss Jay has a fabulous way of bringing a taste of the hardened American biker life to the UK with Bad Company. Cain is everything a girl needs in a sexy bad ass MC gun-toting hero. He’s flawed with a darkness he must learn to uncover and deal with, but underneath it all he has the loyalty and love that any heroine would be happy to snare. And indeed Kelly is kick-ass enough to take on the broken man, her intelligence and wit are well matched and for once we have a strong truly likable lead female. It’s very well written with a heavy dose of mystery and drama especially as Cain begins to learn the extent of his dark side and what exactly his life held for him back in America. It manages to incorporate some truly magnificently steamy scenes into a rather gripping plot, as our dirty talking hero shows Kelly how things are taken care of in his world. If you’re a super fan of MC romances/erotica and want a really stellar storyline to boot then definitely take a chance on Bad Company, you will not regret it.

4.0 out of 5 stars MC with a difference
I have read a lot of MC stories and expected much of the same kind of thing from this book. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that this was an MC book with a difference.
It was almost like the story was two different halves. The first half was the story of Cameron Iss, a man found in Scotland who has no memory. He doesn't know his real name, he doesn't know why he is in Scotland or how he got there. It is also the story of his relationship with his doctor Kelly Ann. With her help Cameron tries to decipher the few clues he has to his identity.
The second half of the story is about the man he discovers he actually is and his attempt at finding out what was done to him, and why.
En route to rediscovering who he is he has to leave his new life in Scotland behind. Can he find out the whole truth about his past before it kills him? In his attempts to get to the truth can he also find his way back to Kelly Ann?
This was a brilliant story which I thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait to read the next part in the series, Six.

4.0 out of 5 stars MC read with a difference!
Ok so I've read a few Lisa J Hobman books before this so when I saw that she had these MC books too I pre ordered them asap.
(they were being changed from pen name back to her name)
Ok so I love an MC read but sometimes they are all sex and no story and that puts me off a little... but this book was not like this.. yes there is sex but the story is so much more with so much involved it keeps you hooked right in!
Set mostly in the The Scottish Highlands local psychologist Kelly gets a shock when she meets new unconscious patient Cameron as she instantly falls for him... unknowing of who he is.. Where he's come from and what he's went through she is intrigued with him within seconds.
Cameron wakes up after his traumatic experience not knowing what's going on... and let's just say it's a rather bumpy ride until he finally figures out all about his life.
So many emotions used throughout this read and it sure manages to tug at your heart strings aswell as rev your engine!
Well done on a fab read.. diving straight into book 2 which is set about MC brother Six next!
