About the authors
M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. She often procrastinates by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open; she is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition.
Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has multiple projects under way, in the hopes that her portfolio of what have been described as “everyday love stories for everyday people” will continue to grow. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.
Her main reason for writing is to not only give her readers enjoyment, but also to create a story and characters that stay with readers long after the book is finished, and possibly make someone stop and think “what if … ”
Typically Sarah's books are steamy, suspenseful and rife with twists and turns, but after writing dozens of novels, she's still looking for that new and exciting thing to get stuck into and tends to try out new genres when the mood suits.
Sarah is also known as an editor and has produced six charity anthologies featuring hundreds of different authors. So you might say that typically, words are her thing. However, she’s a literary events organiser too, the founder of "Authors at the Armouries" no less.
What you can always be sure of from a Sarah Michelle Lynch novel is that there will be strong, complex characters, dynamics you never saw coming, a lot of curveballs along the way - not to mention sights, sounds and scents that truly transport you to another place. She makes no apologies for writing stunning sex scenes that are never boring. Those are what her readers demand and she unashamedly continues to produce books that are real, gritty and full of genuine character.
K.L. Shandwick is an international bestselling author of over thirty novels. She mainly writes New Adult, Contemporary Romance, and Romantic Suspense stories. Her writing is inspired by imperfect people, each striving to carve out their own piece of happiness from life. Her emotional novels have gained a loyal following for her 'real to life' characters who sometimes face challenges in their quest for love. Many readers have fallen for her book boyfriends, and when K.L. isn't writing, she lives in the English countryside with her husband and enjoys live music events and socializing with friends.
About the author
I write romance - contemporary, dark and erotic.
I like to write about loss, pain and love, and
what it's like to fight for your happy ever after.
Laura Rossi is an Italian multigenre writer. Raised in the US and in the UK, where she graduated in Psychology and Criminology, she now resides in Italy with her family.
Devotedly interested in the human mind, Laura likes to scare people saying she goes ‘from sweet to psycho in a matter of seconds’ with her characters. One day she’s writing something sweet and funny, the other she’s crafting dark, flawed characters for edgy, twisted stories.
When she’s not busy working in her family business or being a mom, she loves to travel and attend rock shows. If you see her wondering around town with a wicked smile on her lips, she’s probably thinking of putting you in one of her novels, plotting a new thriller in her head or figuring out which character needs to get the bullet.

Born in Leeds, currently living in Huddersfield, Paula Acton decided, when she turned forty, to stop dreaming about writing and do it. Her tagline ‘Where Love Lives & Darkness Dwells’ sums up her writing. While she enjoys experimenting with genre, each story is created in the grey areas where there is no black and white, no definitive good and evil.
In her home life she divides her time between children, grandchildren and pets. Her hobbies include reading, making a mess with resin, and going to visit the horse she recently rehomed to a riding school.
If she ever wins the lottery, she will buy a farm and use it to rescue old horses to give them a loving home for their final years. It will also double as a writing retreat for her friends in the Indie Author community.

Lynda lives in Cheshire in the UK. She runs a successful financial business with her husband.
As a young teenager Lynda used to read horror books with a love for everything Stephen King and James Herbert. She has always wanted to write and even wrote horror stories at age 13/14. A little later she started reading Jackie Collins and Jilly Cooper and has always had a love of books. This then exploded with Twilight and Fifty Shades as it did with most people, oh, and the introduction of E-Readers.
In her spare time, she has a season ticket for Manchester City Football Club and goes to all the home games. Loves going to concerts and the theatre. She goes to the cinema at least once a week. Then when the weather is nice you can see her gliding down the road on her Harley Davidson 1200T motorbike.
Travelling is also high on the agenda and her dream is to visit every state in the USA.
She would love to hear from you. (less)
M.L. Broome is a bohemian spirit with a New York edge. Her small-town contemporary romances feature smart and sexy heroines over the age of thirty-five, and sizzle with angsty, slow-burn goodness.
Raised on a steady diet of stories, she grew up believing all men should be like Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre—enigmatic yet unflappable in their devotion. Hence, her own brand of book boyfriend was born.
When M.L. isn’t holding one-sided arguments with her characters (she likens it to herding cats), she loves losing herself to nature on her North Carolina farm, one her rescue fur babies by her side.
Her favorite things? Dressing up and kicking back with a glass of wine and a stunning view, soaking up all the experiences that make the soul and senses tingle.

What this author can make me feel...and that just from one short story!
I felt the angst, like a hard knot in my stomach. I felt the horror, and sad. So unbelievable sad.
With a quality depth, I felt like I got to know these characters.
I was taken on a angst filled journey in a time of war. Filled with kindness and understanding. Such a strong and emotional story.
"We are like wildflowers. We are all different. We are gentle. And we are strong. No matter what happens how much they try to crush us, we will rise once again. "
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2022Format: KindleBeing with a soldier takes a strong person. During peace, but more so during war! This book will give you hope, and heartache as a reminder of what the soldiers and their family and friends are going through. So good, so heart felt, so real.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSo far in this collection, I've only read M.B. Feeney's "Lost and Alone." However, I can say it packs a punch. Not your usual HEA, but definitely a HFN that reminds you actions have consequences. No matter how the heart is involved. Once again, a job well done to the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved these stories
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI bought this anthology more as a donation to a good cause and while I was excited to read it because of the authors involved I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Short stories are hard to write but all of the stories in this anthology are really good. They are also all vastly different and it makes reading the anthology really interesting as you never know what genre of story you will get and what will come next.
