    I loved this book. I had the privilege of reading it before it was published. The fascinating story is populated by strong and interesting characters in an alternative world just a hair's breadth from our own. It’s vividly written, very visual – it was easy to picture the characters and landscapes in my head. It has it all – goodies and baddies, mystery, tension, pathos and romance, and some shocks too, in this subtle, developing fight between good and evil. I can't wait for book 2.
