Best Friends for Never Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 1,248 ratings

The movie star and the small-town girl he left behind. They have a lot of catching up to do in an emotional and rousing romantic comedy about fame, second chances, and making dreams come true.

Parker Pruitt’s dream is to restore her small town’s long-shuttered theater—one to be named in honor of Noel Carter, the boy who followed his dream from Emerald Grove, Washington, to Hollywood…and broke Parker’s heart. Now he’s back to attend the kickoff ceremony, and for Parker, that means smiling through a swell of mixed emotions at seeing her former best friend for the first time in a decade.

Noel may be one of the hottest actors in the world, but he’s still touched by the tribute. And a little nervous about seeing Parker again. But when his weekend jaunt extends into a six-week stay, long-repressed memories and feelings come rushing back. As the simmering attraction between them builds, Noel is determined not to ruin this second chance even if his return to LA is hanging over them.

They’re making the best of the time they have left, but is there any chance of a Hollywood ending?

A heartwarming second chance!

A heartwarming second chance!
A delightful second-chance romance between childhood best friends, reunited after ten years thanks to meddling loved ones. The entire cast shines with feel-good Hallmark vibes. If you love a slow burn, found family, and best friends-to-lovers in a charming small town filled with hilarious moments, this book is for you. Parker and Axel's genuine, sweet friendship was a standout--especially since it drives Noel crazy! I especially enjoyed the audiobook with dual narration, bringing this crazy cast of characters to life. I listened to it in one sitting!

What a great story line. I see this as a coming to age book. Both lead characters had a great story line and it pulled you into how much they love and connect with each other. Not only does the store capture Parker and Noel but it draws you into Axel's story too. Definitely recommend and looking forward to more Teagan books.

Audiobook review: narrated by Lee Samuels and Emma Wilder
3.5 stars for story / 4.5 stars for performance

If you like small town, low angst tropes, this one will be a good one. Noel is a movie star that comes home to support a theater revamp led by his former best friend / childhood crush, Parker. I love how the town treats Noel with reverence but also like the school kid he was before making it big. I didn’t feel a whole lot of romantic chemistry between the characters and for the first half, my hope was that they just became friends again. I really enjoyed the storyline with the reconstruction and the “will-they-won’t-they” aspect was well done because I wasn’t able to predict the outcome. Overall it’s a sweet, light-hearted, second-chance romance.

Both narrators did an amazing job in this dual narrated style. They gave every character such a unique voice full of personality. Emma Wilder really blew me away with her masculine tone and at times I forgot it was just one person behind the mic.

This was a cute second chance, friends to lovers story. I loved how the characters were so attached as kids and grew to love one another as young adults, but fell apart because of immaturity. Now that time has passed and they are forced back together in a sweet small town, they realize that true bonds are not broken. All of the characters were fun, unique, and quirky. I felt like I could be part of the town. It was almost a Gilmore Girls vibe. There were great moments of angst and longing , but even better moments of love and passion.

    4⭐️ 2.5🌶️

Parker and Noel were best friends since they were 8 years old but when high school ended, Noel couldn’t wait to leave for LA and chase his dream of being an actor. He asked her to come with him but she didn’t want to follow him around and worry he’d leave her like her dad did. They haven’t seen/spoken in 10 years, until Noel returns for the new theater in his name that Parker happens to be designing. He only planned on staying a few days but when he realizes there may be a chance to be with Parker, he offers to stay for 6 weeks to help fundraise for the theater.

I really enjoyed Parker and Noel’s story. You could feel the tension and angst but also the love beneath the surface. I loved that they both had family & friends that were supportive - Parker had her mom and best friend/business partner Axel, and Noel had his Gran.

‘In just the short time we've been reunited, she's already engraved herself on my soul again, and I can't go back to how I felt before, like I was missing something vital.’

    ‘I can't go back to a Parker-less life. It's that simple.’

“You're here, and you're my home, Parker. You always have been."

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Story
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 25, 2025
I loved this story, Noel is coming home to the town he left 10 years ago and he hasn’t been back since. Parker was Noel’s best friend but hasn’t spoken to him since he left so they have lots to discuss. I loved these two so much, the love they have for each other just melts your heart. I loved this small town and how they all rally to help Parker and shows how much they care for her. I loved Gran, Astrid & Axel in equal measure as they all made the story so much more. Noel & Parker were just perfect and I loved how she gave him as good as he did and the banter is off the charts. I loved it.

I very much enjoyed Teagan Hunter’s Best Friends First Never. Lots of sweetness, some dirtiness, and a very happy ending.

However I did find it odd that neither Noel nor Parker asked for what they wanted from each other. It seems like the thing adult people in love would do.

Still, Hunter writes a good story and it’s a good read.

Cute second chance romance, i absolutely loved this one. I'm a huge second chance romance fan and this absolutely delivered. Knocked off one star cos didn't really enjoy the pace of it and the miscommunication trope not a fan. But overall was a good read
