Betrayed: Prequel to Unhinged (THE AMADO BROTHERS) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 382 ratings

I didn’t think I had anything left to lose when I went to him. It was the only way to save what was left of my family. I knew I was taking a chance, knew there would be consequences, but I had no choice. Not if I wanted to save my brother.

He warned me to be careful. That my brother wasn’t who I thought he was. I didn’t believe him though. Not until it was too late.

And it cost us both everything.

Betrayed is the 7500 word prequel to the intensely emotional dark standalone romance, UNHINGED.

Betrayed has given me the barest insight of what to expect when Unhinged
is released. If it is anything like the first two books in this series, then you won't
be disappointed. You already get a sense of the dark, edgy and suspenseful story
which will leave you on the edge of your seat. There is a hint of the intense dynamics
between Eve and Zach. This prequel jumped straight into action with danger around
every corner. There is an attraction between Eve and Zach that immediately brings
out his protective streak.Eve El-Amin is out of options,as a last resort she seeks the
help of the American Soldiers.Zachary is keen to help Eve but her life is in danger and
Zach is conflicted. This story there is danger, conflict and betrayal.

GAH! Betrayed was intense and had my heart pounding so hard with the anticipation of what is coming up next! This is the back story of how Eve and Zach meet. The darkness that fills Zach in Unhinged comes together in Betrayed. I was captured in the words. I did not put the book down as soon as I started to read chapter one. This book is written to captivate the reader. Natasha Knight gives her readers more than they can dream of! This is a great prequel to find out what has been haunting both Zach and Eve

Betrayed: Prequel to Unhinged is exactly what it says it is: a prequel novella to Natasha Knight's third book in the Amando Brothers series, Unhinged. I became "unhinged" myself when I finished reading the novella because I didn't want it to end! What an exciting ending/cliffhanger!

This is the story of Zach Amando and Eve El-Amin’s. Eve is a young woman who turns to Zach, an official with the U.S. military, when she realizes her older brother is possibly a member with a dangerous terrorist cell. They are instantly drawn to each other despite the danger they are both facing. The ending of the novella leaves the reader wanting. As a fan of Natasha Knight, I can't wait for Unhinged to debut as the books in her series only get better.

This was intense. I'm confused. Why did Zach send her home knowing that she was at risk. I do want to find out what happen

Let me just say this prequel is a fantastic lead in to 'Unhinged' by Natasha Knight. If you are planning to read 'Unhinged', and why wouldn't you ;), this gives you some wonderful backstory. No synopsis or spoilers from me as I have read both already. But, seriously, you don't want to miss either! Read and enjoy, I certainly did!

BETRAYED – a short prequel novella to Natasha Knight’s UNHINGED definitely serves its purpose: It’s mouthwatering and has the reader salivating for more!

Eve El-Amin’s family has been ripped from her at a very young age. Now, all she has left is her older brother Armen – a man who changed paths and is now wanted and dangerous. In her despair, she turns to the US military on a quest to save her only living relative as a last resort. She knows betraying her won brother could very well put her own life in jeopardy, but her concern for him and his safety wins out. Only her gathering intel sets wheels in motion that can never be undone again – and not even Sergeant Zachary Amado – Zach – might be able to save her…

These events take place two years prior to those in UNHINGED, portraying Zach as such a different man – an honorable and charming soldier willing to do anything to help and protect Eve – and showing how he came to be the dark and unhinged savage that he is now.

This novella is quick yet incredibly suspenseful, with so much background information on the characters and prior events that just make this a must-read before the full novel, which will be an epic ride, if BETRAYED is any indication!

Ms. Knight has an unreal writing talent and I can’t wait to find out what she has up her sleeve with UNHINGED!

So what happens when you get a short but so important novella? What happens when you start reading and when you reach the end you stay if your tongue is out?

That's exactly what happened to me, Natasha knocked me a ticking bomb, and when I mean the bomb I'm talking about Eve and Zak, and about the whole story. In a few short pages you get a glimpse of what is going to be in the expanded book, you are being betrayed to schemes and dark.

I can't wait to devour Unhinged next!

Betrayed is a short introduction to the characters Zach and Eve, and it explains to the readers how they met. The events in this book took place two years prior to where Unhinged begins.

Even though this was a free purchase, it could have easily been added to the beginning of Unhinged. That way, readers who might not see or know this book exists, wouldn't miss the helpful information it provides.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good Prequel
Reviewed in Germany on October 22, 2017
Well... I won't summarize this book as it is a very short read and every word I'd write might spoil anything.

It was the first book I read by Natasha Knight and even though I'm not a fan of short reads this was good- especially for a Prequel.

I liked the writing style. The characters were fine too. Didn't know what to expect of this story but now I'm curious and can't wait to read Unhinged. The Prequel def. was good for building questions, for making me wanting to know more and finding out what's going to happen next.

The book ended in a cliffhanger but I suppose that was clear from the start (I mean why else should there be and should it be called a Prequel ;) ).

I just saw that this is part of a series (The Amado Brothers). I haven't read any other book in this series yet and do not know about anyone or anything. I hope this won't be a problem as Unhinged will be my next read. At least I had no problem with Betrayed. Didn't feel like I was missing something and I also wasn't confused by anything.

So all in all- a good Prequel

p.s.: 2 Stars mean that the book was Ok for me

That's definitely a prequel that's leaving me wanting more of Eve and Zach. It's short but all the ingredient are present for an explosive story: the action, the chemistry between the characters, and clearly I need to know what will happen to them.

This really wets your appetite and leaves you wanting so much more.

Definitely my idea of what a prequel should be.

Innocent main female character and nasty brother.

This is the prequel to Unhinged Eve and Zach's story and beginning. It was intense Eve wanting to save her brother the ultimate betrayel going against blood but in her mind there is still good there in her brother and with Zachs help information is gathered. Edge of your seat just waiting to see how this is going to play out,the plot sets us up to want a whole lot more.

Intriguing prequel to Unhinged. Eve and her brother are all that are left of her family. In a quest to save him, she goes to the American soldiers and in return for information, they must help her 'save' her brother. Zach is the man who uses her for information, until it all goes wrong!
