Blushing in the Big Leagues Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 3,316 ratings

I have one simple rule: don’t date professional baseball players. There are no exceptions, no workarounds.

“What if—”
No.
“Could he—”
Nuh-uh.

With a brother in the league, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the downright
horrifying. Those guys might seem tantalizing when they’re in uniform down on the field, hitting grand slams in front of a crowd of adoring fans, but I know better. The huge egos? The insane travel schedules? The veritable buffet of female companions? No ma’am. Professional athletes are best handled at a distance, preferably far enough away that their chiseled jawlines blur into oblivion.

Enter Grant Navarro.

He’s the baseball player to
end all baseball players. The one I should have marked with a big red X the first moment I laid eyes on him. Only the night we met (and kissed—oops), I didn’t know he was my brother’s newest teammate. Imagine my shock when I realized the sexiest man in Manhattan was officially off limits. Just my luck!

Let the record show that I had every intention of following my rule and staying away from Grant. When he smiled that irresistible smile and those dimples popped, I stood my ground. When he made it
very clear he’d love to pick up where we left off the night we met, I said, Hold it right there, partner. When he messaged me all sorts of naughty things on Instagram, I logged out of that app so fast I dented my iPhone screen.

Baseball players are
bad, bad, bad.

So tell me why giving in to Grant just for a night, getting
one taste of what could be starts to seem not just tempting, but downright mandatory.

Yeah, about that one simple rule…haven’t you heard?
Rules are meant to be broken.

BOOKWORM REVIEW: Blushing in the Big Leagues by R.S. Grey

BOOKWORM REVIEW: Blushing in the Big Leagues by R.S. Grey
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥 Tate Allen has sworn never to date baseball players. She inadvertently breaks this rule when she kisses a stranger at a party and he turned out to be her brother's new teammate Grant Navarro. They cannot deny their chemistry, however, and while Grant is ready to keep going, Tate is going to be a hard sell. I love the chemistry between Grant and Tate. One of the things that get me going is when the MMC falls first, and Grant delivers on that in this read. Tate is definitely the harder nut to crack, and that relationship arc is what I live for in an R.S. Grey read. This one is going to be a slow burn, despite the steamy start, but the wait is certainly worth it. The ensemble cast also makes the book enjoyable. It can be read as a standalone, but Luke and Chloe from a previous R.S. Grey release are back. I am crossing my fingers that we get more stories from the other characters. Even though this isn't my favorite R.S. Grey book -- I highly doubt any story would knock The Arrogant Devil from the #1 spot -- it is still a fantastic read.

This author used to be one click for me, but lately not so much. I haven't cared for the heroines as much and a little juvenile at times. This book hit it out of the park and I read in one sitting.

Omg I love R.S. Grey!! I’ve read all her books and this one did not disappoint. I really loved the dynamics between these two characters. She’s super type A and borderline OCD, and he’s so solid and calm. It really felt like they balanced each other out and no one does the slow burn better than this writer! Emotional, sexy, hot scenes…I literally could not put it down! Great read!! I hope we get Daphne’s story next!!

This one almost hit it out of the park. Baseball's my favorite sport, I can make all the jokes I want. But anyway, I enjoyed seeing more of Luke, Chloe, and Harper. As well, getting to know Tate (is that not short for something?) and Grant was fun. The story is again dual POV, always the best.

What was really missing was a true barrier to their romance: Tate's job as a NICU nurse. C'mon! Pair that with a pro baseball player and you have a recipe for romantic chaos. Instead, we get decent romantic tension, a faux work romance, and disapproving big brother. Tate's no-baseball-players rule was half-hearted at best.

The chemistry was solid, I'll always give RS Grey props there, but Grant was a bit too pushy on the alpha side of things. I did love the elevator scenes though. Also, their Instagram flirting was fun.

Harper was a fun voice of wisdom, even as an eight-year-old. Wonder if Dustin and Daphne will get their own book, strongly hinting that way.

R.S Grey is one of my favorite authors so any book she writes is an automatic read for me, but I truly enjoy reading every single one! The way she writes her characters makes the stories so fun to read and it feels like you actually know these characters. I loved Tate in Three Strikes and You’re Mine so getting to read her story was the best! I laughed, I got mad, I swooned, everything I want in my romantic comedies. 10/10 recommend! I also really hope Rachel continues and gives us Daphne and Dustin’s story next!

This book was a pretty good read, but not my favorite by Grey. Tate’s character came across as very immature and frustrating for most of the story. I loved Grant so much, he was perfect, but he put up with way too much back and fourth from Tate that he didn’t deserve.
I did not like how this book ended, we spent so much time on the will they won’t they and then all of a sudden it skips ahead months and gives us a few pages of what happened, then skipped half a year for the epilogue. It was very disappointing. I don’t mind all the build up, but I felt like we were robbed of a lot of time together.
We also didn’t get much back story from either character. We had maybe one conversation with Grant’s dad, but Tate never came up. I guess if you read Tate’s brother Luke’s story you would know about him, but I didn’t so I was only given what was in this book, which was not much. Those are the little things I like in books that help to connect us to characters. And I felt like they were missing.
I enjoyed the first 80% of the book, but the ending was just so lack luster.
3.5 Stars rounded up for me.

Great friends, fabulous hero, awesome heroine, all the feels…this book. It’s a rare five-star for me. Just loved the whole vibe, the witty banter, the all-in, amazing man who just wanted his girl.
This book had loads of delicious sizzle and all the sweetness too.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    Firstly... Can I just say...

I NEED DAPHNE AND DUSTINS BOOK NEXT! LIKE, YESTERDAY!! Nobody can tell there won't be one... There was way too much tension there for them to not have their story told!

Ok... Now onto the actual review.

I know I say each of RS Grey's books are my favourite and I genuinely mean it... But this one really made the homerun (wink).

Grant was... Drool-worthy! No joke! I'm sat here wracking my brain to think of every MMC in each of her books and I honestly believe that he's my favourite of them all. He was oh so bossy and possessive but the sweetest cutie too!

I loved Tate from Three Strikes And You're Mine so I knew I'd only love her more in this one and I really did. She was fun and adorable!

I do think the side characters made the book even more of a total win for me. As I said above, the chemistry between Daphne and Dustin was off the charts. I'm obsessed with wanting their story!! Nick was so adorable! And Sophia and Josh were such a nice sideline romance to read through!

The baseline of the story was fun and kept me interested from page 1! I didn't want to put it down and when I got to the epilogue, I felt disappointed that I'd already got through it! I just wanted it to keep going into the next chapter! Lol

10000% you need to get this book! It has all the feels and I'm literally obsessed!

I absolutely loved the beginning of the story. I fell in love with Grant… it’s a shame there wasn’t more chapters from his point of view.

Nevertheless, it was an easy read, fun and entertaining. Loved it!

Tate wants a relationship but only with those that check off her list... Her friends want to see her loosen up so they dare her...

What does she catch GRANT, but it'll take her sometime to really appreciate and tear up that list.

After being introduced to Tate in her brother's story I definitely was excited to finally see her fall in love. Now I cannot wait to see Daphne and maybe Dustin together?

There is a party where Tate has been dared to find and guy and kiss him and when she sees Grant standing near the bar she decides he is the one. He thinks she is lovely and she makes him smile when all of a sudden she goes in for the kiss. It becomes that kiss that defines their future but she then walks away. Grant is a new team member for the baseball team and has just met the sister of his new team mate. Tate has always declared that athletes of any kind are off her list of men to date. Grant has his work cut out trying to persuade her that he is worth it. He makes her feel different and it frightens her especially when her brother is always trying to protect her. Lovely read.
