- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2021Format: KindleWARLOCKS OF THE BLACK OAK: Boxset #2 contains Books four, five, and six. The Warlocks of The Black Oak are back with more intense supernatural action, hot romance, paranormal drama, suspenseful challenges, and obstacles to battle through as only these too hot to be real warlocks can bring. Each story focuses on a different Warlock but includes others from the series and introduces some new characters. The Morgan Warlocks are descendants of one of the Three, Lucias Stanley Morgan. His power was great, and his legacy to his descendants is downright over the top in the supernatural realm. This is clearly seen in each book in this boxset. Note that his ancestor's legacy and the other original Warlocks of the Black Oak, Stanley, and Clarke have been and will be featured in other books.
Book four, An Archmage's Destiny, is a suspenseful love story wrought with intense supernatural action and a couple of twists that compel you to read on. The storyline is engaging and entertaining. The characters keep you reading as they pull you into their story. They are unique yet believable. The female protagonist is strong, resilient, smart, gorgeous, and compassionate. Bryce Jackson is a new attorney in the firm that the elder warlock, Edwin Morgan, uses to handle both his human world business affairs and those more otherworldly. She believes her first assignment on behalf of the elder Morgan is quick and easy. Nothing is quick or easy when it comes to dealing with supernatural beings. She is soon fighting for her life and love. Along with his twin brother Duke, Knightley Theodore Morgan, better known as Knight, is an heir to the Morgan family legacy. He chooses, though, to fight evil, keeping the streets of Seattle safe from things that truly do go bump in the night. Meeting Bryce brings out a different type of protector in him. He has to fight an evil that will destroy the woman he has come to love, but first, he has to get his magic back. His friend Malcolm, the Necromancer, is by his side fighting evil and creeping folks out, but you still know he is a good guy. We find out a little more about Mal in this story, just enough to set us up for the book that will focus on him.
In Book Five, A Spellbinder's Denial, Duke Leopold Morgan must overcome his guilt to save the woman he has loved, Sloane Davenport, since they were teens. An accident changed their lives forever, but Sloane chooses to move on, while Duke spends the next twelve years trying to work through his guilt via good deeds. When a nest of vampires targets Sloane and her daughter Elsa, Duke has to gain his ancestors' forgiveness so that he can protect them. With intense suspense, heated romance, surprises, twists, and tons of intense supernatural, paranormal action, this book is another page-turner in the series. The characters are ones that you already know and love from previous books. With the addition of Sloane and her aunties, who are banshees, the characters draw you into the storyline, which is very engaging and intriguing.
A Necromancer's Love is the final book in the series, and I am so glad that we finally see another side of Malcolm. As a necromancer, he is often depicted as intense and creepy. He is all dark and brooding, but with underlying compassion, we do not get to see as clearly as you do in this book. However, Harper Grant brings out another side of him as she enlists his help in rescuing her brother Evan. This is a love story like no other as the Necromancer Malcolm's darkness becomes enthralled with the light of a human woman who takes loyalty to a level of obsession. We get to meet King Akla and Queen Flora, Malcolm's birth parents and learn the truth behind why they abandoned him as a child. The storyline in this one has many supernatural beings, and we are introduced to Valerian St Amand, a legacy vampire. As with the other books in the boxset, the characters keep you engaged. The drama, flourishing romance, twists, betrayal, and magic make the story one that grabs you from the first page to the last.
I hope that more books on the horizon feature the Warlocks of The Black Oak. After all, Bryce and Knightley's wedding has got to be an event, and we have to know what happens when Sloane and Harper meet. I would love to see more of the Daemon world with Malcolm and, of course, more from Duke and Diesel. The Boxset did contain an extra story, A Vampire's Spell featuring Valerian St Amand. That was a nice transition into a Mont-Royal Immortals series. It is an awesome beginning to this new series!

Omg So Good!!!
If your in the mood for some good, evil, darkness, magic, mayhem and love all rolled into a story then your in for a awesome read. Damn!!!
What makes this story more intense is to add two more to go along with the first so you can binge read all in one setting.
You'll meet some very intense and intriguing male characters like Knightly, Duke and Malcom, all three not wholly of this world. Along with them are the 3 very different and unique women, Bryce, Sloan and Harper. Together with the men, they will each face different evils but linked together for a continuous read.
I have voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review for it. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2021Format: KindleEntertaining books! This set includes 3 books from the Warlocks of the Black Oak series; books 4-6 of that series. Lots of cool magical elements! There’s also some steamy romance; the couples all have great chemistry. Also, I like that all the female leads tend to be pretty capable and smart thinking. Fun action and adventure in each book; love a dose of danger! I’ll go with a 4 rating for the set and for each book in the series.
The first book in this set is, An Archmage’s Destiny, which features Bryce and Knight; she’s a lawyer sent by Knight’s father with an offer that will get Knight home. Knight does not get along with his father, so he is adamant that he will not return home. When danger pops up, Knight and Bryce grow closer. Enjoyed the passion between these two! Not a fan of his flirty ways in the beginning, but Knight grew on me. Knight and Bryce are a good fit together; it’s kind of an opposites attract thing.
Book 2 is, A Spellbinder’s Denial, featuring Duke and Sloane, he’s a spellbinder and she’s a banshee. Duke had some issues with his magic, so he doesn’t practice it much anymore. Same with Sloane and her magic, but she has an adopted daughter that she’s trying to protect. Sloane and Duke team up to keep Sloane and the kid safe; Sloane and Duke have previous history, so things are a bit awkward. I enjoy second chance at love scenarios, so it was great that they could reconnect and become more accepting of themselves. This one was a sweet one.
Book 3 is, A Necromancer’s Love, featuring Malcolm and Harper, he’s a necromancer and she’s in for some unexpected excitement. Harper’s brother has been turned into a vampire, so she sets out to find a cure. This one is another opposites attract kind of thing; Malcolm hasn’t exactly been personable, but Harper’s positivity may be chipping away at his hard shell. I liked Harper okay, but she did come across as lacking in common sense a bit. I liked seeing Malcolm open up some. Overall, another fun read with a steamy connection!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2021Format: KindleI literally couldn’t put down this Warlocks of the Black Oak collection until the very last page. Marie-Claude Bourque is a gifted storyteller. The three books in this collection spoke to me on so many levels. Two of the stories are about twin brother warlocks and the third is about their close friend who is a necromancer. Two of my favorite messages in this volume are ”you don’t have to be perfect to be loved” and “hope prevails even in the direst circumstances.” The characters are well developed and there is non-stop action. Villains abound and the heroes must make difficult decisions, including risking their own lives to achieve the desired outcomes. Although the key characters have extraordinary abilities, they each have their flaws and self doubt. Even so, they each find and connect with someone to love and travel life’s journey together. I thank the author for an advance review copy via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
