About the Author
She is many things; a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don't let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.
She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things...but likes it even more when they fall in love.
She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.
She's been writing ever since...

- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2019Carter - Veterinarian, and all around animal lover.
Issac - Blind. Teacher. and freaking stubborn as all hell. LOL
I loved how straight forward Carter was right from the beginning, He says it like he sees it and doesn't hold back how he feels. Which makes him absolutely perfect for Issac. Issac is so freaking stubborn and determined to do everything himself. He tries so hard to hold himself back from everyone including his new guide dog. Although Carter's lack of wanting to discuss Issac's issues with Brady was a little confusing and frustrating, I just didn't understand why he was so nervous to bring up the topic. But eventually Carter breaks right through all his heavily constructed barriers, making him (kinda/mostly) see what's right in front of his face.. He loves his dog. And he loves Carter.
This book was so good. The story line and plot were well thought our and flowed along nicely. The characters were likable, including all the animals, and smaller characters like Carters friend Mark, and Issacs sister Hannah and even Ms. Yeo (sp?) It was easy to fall in love with these guys as the story went on. You really get a bunch of different emotions coming off the page with this book, it was fun, and funny, and frustrating, with a tiny bit of angst, but also sweet, and cute. Right from the start you can feel the chemistry and connection these two guys have with each other. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.
Audio - Michael Pauley did a great job capturing Issac and Carter, But Issac's stubborn personality really came across well in the narration for this book. I really enjoyed listening to this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2021N.R. Walker is beyond talented at creating flawed characters and making us love the heck out of their journey. I do not know how she does it, but she does it with every book I read. I love her fun, lighthearted books, but I really enjoy her books that make us engage a range of emotions while reading them. Sometimes we even find ourselves a little frustrated with the character, but love them nonetheless. Isaac is such a character. I wanted to hug him, shake him, laugh with him, and cry with him.
I loved that their love story was not fast and furious. With the storyline, a slow burn was absolutely perfect. Sometimes love moves fast, and sometimes it’s gradual. Their chemistry was undeniable, and I loved how Carter was with Isaac. He really understood Isaac, and he cared about him. It was more than just attraction, and he was definitely attracted.
Alongside the two main characters, the side characters were enjoyable. I loved Brady. It’s hard to deal with the loss of a pet, but Isaac needed a new guide dog.
Michael Pauley (Dean) did a great job bringing this story to life. I love listening to his voice. It’s as comfortable as a plush blanket, while snuggled on the couch to read/listen to a book.

I Laughed... I cried....I had heart twinges. Awesome read.
Single pov. Great story line, awesome characters, great dialogue. Emotional roller coaster for sure.
This is part of a 3 book series. I have read these out of order. I read book 3 first (Mark's story) and fell in love with Carter and Isaac in that book that I had to come back and read their story as well. I am so glad that I did. This book was simply amazing. I didn't want to put it down it was so good.
Can not wait to read book two next.

Sassy Beta Reading & Review
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2014I was confused at first when I was reading this book and its 2 sequels. It was set in New England, yet clearly written in British English. The lack of periods after "Mr" was a dead giveaway from the beginning. I laughed aloud when after finishing the second book, when I looked back to read the disclaimer that the book was written in American English, when it so clearly was not!. The seasons in the series were all wrong -- November is not spring in Boston and folks in New England don't swim outside all year round! I would have preferred the series to be set in Australia since the phraseology used throughout was so clearly off for a story set in the US. Americans don't "click off" phone calls or "organize" things they way the did in these stories, have barmen (but instead bar tenders), or look for a college to attend after they have already become engineers. I assume "board shorts" might be swim trunks (but can't imagine anyone wearing them outside in early spring in Boston) and "sleep pants" are pajama bottoms. It was just odd for such place inappropriate terminology to be used. The overall story was very cheesy but enjoyable. The big fails were language usage for the location where these books were set. It was just very difficult for me to get beyond this. I know I'm being super critical here, but why the need to set it in Boston when it could have been set someplace where the seasons and usage were better aligned to the author's own experiences. (And, there was absolutely no mention ever of any family members that Carter might have...odd!).

5.0 out of 5 stars A great vet and a moody blind man
A great vet and a moody blind man, with a terrify dog. Carter needs to change Isaac's attitude to his dog and in the context of that story they fall in love. Really enjoyed the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sweet read x
Oh Isaac...I don't really know how I felt about Isaac......I love N.R Walkers books and I've really enjoyed this one...I love Carter and the way he treated Isaac was beautiful...Slow and easy...not rushing him into a relationship but sometimes the way Isaac treated him and what he said to him...We should never say things we'll regret whilst angry but Isaac sure didn't think sometimes.....I loved him too I just think he needs to realise that Carter loves him.....I felt so sorry for Brady his guide dog, I can understand why he kept his distance as such but Brady needed his love as much as Carter did....I love Mark and can't wait to get to his book...Hannah is an amazing side character and the way she put up with Isaac and his ways I think she needed a meddle even if he's her brother ...A perfect read and great start to a series x
