4/5 ⭐️ 3/5 🌶️ Liz never knew she was different, only that her best friend and boyfriend betrayed her and her family is gone. She never expects to end up face to face with Bloody Marius. Marius has been searching for Liz for years, hidden away and out of his reach, chance throws her back to him unexpectedly. I really enjoyed this Bloody Mary inspired story. Liz was heartbroken but not helpless and I love that in a FMC. Marius was the typical broody but caring MMC. Together they were so good. While this was sort of a slow burn because of the way their relationship plays out, the story is shorter side so you don’t have to wait long for the spice to hit - and man does it! I loved that there was an interesting plot and quite a lot of detail for a shorter book. Definitely recommend if you want a quick, spicy retelling! As always, check for TWs and happy reading!

    I loved this novella so much. The characters and the story just pulled me right in. I grew up with the legend of Bloody Mary and when I heard this was a loosely based retelling with a twist I had to read it and I was not disappointed. Liz the MFC is smart, witty, lovable, strong and feisty and I just loved her so much. Marius the MMC is the ultimate possessive alpha male. He is sexy, dark, complex, protective, possessive and I just fell so hard for him. This story has romance, spice, action, witty banter, heart, self discovery and so much more. It’s a fast paced, fun, and spicy read and I can’t recommend it enough!! The spice was so good too. If you enjoy PNR romance this is for you.

    I really enjoyed the premise of this story. Down on her luck heroine, gets a little tipsy and accidentally calls upon the Devil himself in an underground bathroom in a Bloody Mary style retelling? Complete with the Devil Marius coming through the mirror kinda like Darkness does in Legend? Drool. 🙃🤤 Such a great trope too! Unknowingly powerful heroine who has been hidden her whole life, and a Hero who has searched for her since she was a child. Blood pacts, mating bonds, knotting, arranged marriage, very instalusty!

    This is a super quick spicy read so if you need a speedy escape into a paranormal/demon world with fae, monsters, I recommend this! The only reason why it wasn’t 4 stars for me was due to how rushed it was near the end. By the time things were getting interesting, the end and their wedding night came quick and it was all over and just too fast of an end.

    I have since discovered this is just a taste of what will become a full length story. I loved the beginning with the lore, the mirror, Marius and Elizabeth exchanging conversation, the brief Scotland backdrop and whispers of warnings the heroine Elizabeth was given by her mother in some brief reflections by the h in her chapters. I think this could be an absolutely amazing story in full length especially with a better build up of chemistry between the H/h and sassing/clashing between these two main characters and some more world building. This story was only a snapshot, so I definitely look forward to the real thing when it comes out! This was a very quick and easy read, especially if you don’t have much time and need a bit of a quick escape! I also love the book cover as well! 🥂

    Marius opens Liz’s eyes to a whole new world, one she only ever caught glimpses of. Now that secrets have been exposed, lies have been discovered, and a new life dangles before her, will Liz choose the presumed saints or sinners?

    As always, reading an Amanda Richardson (K Easton) book is a special treat. It’s more than just a story. You are taken on a journey with the characters. The world building here is wonderful. You can feel the emotions and atmosphere of every scene. The smexy scenes were smoking (literally) and I now feel extremely deprived that I don’t know anyone with a tail or ability to smite my enemies. Do yourself a favor and read this book. Then send Ms Richardson a thank you card for deciding to expand this into a series.

    I loved almost everything about it.

    Spicy level is about 3.5 but that’s not bad considering the story is roughly 100 or so pages. It has a decent amount of buildup (world building and romance). A couple decent twists. The ending is perfect. I think the only thing I wish was different is that the story was longer! I honestly would kill to read 300 more pages of their journey since there is so much to build off of. It’s not rushed by any means, but would have been a beautiful novel or series even. It’s only a half star off because I wish there would have been more to read. I genuinely feel like if the story was longer then it would have killed it with more scenes playing on the details of Liz’s vulnerability to other demons/monsters alongside Marius’ kingdom and power.

    Nonetheless, the story has my heart! It was a wonderful quick read and for as short as it was? It definitely deserves the 5 star rating (but I gave it 4.5 because selfishly I craved more—it has so much potential.)

    This is a quickly recommendation if you like paranormal books and a short stories.
    This book is a part of Twisted Legends Collection and one i was really anxiety about it. This book it’s about Blood Mary’s legend i the way the author put the legend and turns in a different story is really nice. Our heroine is have a really bad day and, in a imprudence way, finish her day invoking Marius- a demon that was chasing her and revels that she will be marry with him. For a short story this book is a slow burn (and definitely i liked), and, even didn’t ending with a cliffhanger, i hope that will be more books in this universe and characters.
