About the Author
Ella Matthews lives and works in beautiful South Wales. She writes medieval romances for Mills & Boon. - Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2023After years of waiting for her betrothed to claim her, the day has finally come and Adela couldn’t be happier. Not because she is in love with Sir Benedictus Monceaux, she doesn’t even know him, it is because she will finally be freed from the prison her father has kept her in to keep her “pure” for her betrothed. At first, Benedictus refuses to let her join him at Windsor, but when Adela makes it clear that she will follow him if he doesn’t let her go with him, he gives in. Windsor is a huge adjustment for Adela, as is being married to the very stoic Sir Benedictus, but soon they are getting along very well and if it isn’t the love that her new friends Medea and Theo share, that is all right, not everyone is that lucky and what she shares with Beneditus is enough, right? Yet, as her feelings deepen, she wonders what Benedictus really feels for her and if maybe they could be lucky too.
Sir Benedictus Monceaux is the leader of King Edward’s elite guard and acts in the king’s stead while he is abroad. Knowing the king needs funds for his wars, Sir Benedictus decides it is time to collect his bride and her hefty dowry. He expects to wed her and leave her with her family, as he doesn’t have time to coddle a wife. Men may quake in his presence, but his new wife stands up to him, this is a big surprise and somewhat arousing. He isn’t sure what to make of her, but now that he has her, he isn’t going to let her go. But feelings and sweet words are not Benedictus’ forte and may cost him the love of a lifetime if he can’t find a way to let Adela know what she has come to mean to him. But when the worse happens, she gets her answer and is heartbroken. Now choices will have to be made as the fate of two hearts hang in the balance.
In the final installment of the King’s Knight series, readers are in for a treat – Benedictus is a treasure and a man with hidden depths. Throughout the series, he has been portrayed as a bit of a stick in the mud and very rigid, but beneath that tough hide beats a tender heart of gold – he is first and foremost the king’s man and he is unapologetic for that, and rightly so, but he is not without a heart and it is Adela who brings those softer feeling out in him. This book was the crème de la crème of the series, it is filled with emotion, spies, steamyish love scenes, some surprising twists and turns, a bit of heartache, family reunions, toxic parents, a slow-burn romance that lead to a HEA with a very sweet epilogue. My only complaints were that the villain didn’t die (Yes, I am a bloodthirsty wench) and that the epilogue didn’t include all the former characters. Other than those minor things, this book was practically perfect! This is the fourth and final book in the series, and while it can be read as a standalone title, reading the series in order will give you more insight into Benedictus and his brother knights, giving you a better reading experience for this book.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2024In Bound to the Warrior Knight, Ella Matthews delivers a Medieval romance full of intense emotion, high-stakes drama and red-hot passion.
Adela’s marriage to Benedictus Monceaux is not a love match, but one that is purely for convenience. The distant and aloof knight seems to have erected a wall around himself which innocent Adela simply cannot seem to break through, however, she still finds herself drawn to her new husband, even though he keeps shutting her out. Her feelings for her new husband have unsettled Adela, but she is so intrigued by the dashing knight she married that she cannot help but wonder whether Benedictus will ever see her as a passionate woman or whether he will continue to ignore her attempts at growing closer to him…
As a brave warrior, Benedictus has never backed down from a fight, but marriage to Adela has forced him to confront something far more dangerous than an adversary with murder on his mind: love. The two of them have been thrust in very close proximity and as they start getting to know one another, Benedictus is stunned by the fact that there is more to his wife than meets the eye. Adela quickly proves to be a strong ally to him and as his desire for his wife intensifies, will he finally find the courage to admit his feelings for her and make this marriage a real one? Or is their chance at happiness going to be mercilessly snatched by ruthless enemies intent on revenge?
A Medieval historical romance that sweeps readers away into a world of jeopardy, intrigue and sensuality, Bound to the Warrior Knight is an exciting and enthralling tale by Ella Matthews that captured my attention from the very first page and kept me engrossed and entertained until the very end. An exquisitely written and highly evocative historical romance with two wonderful characters who will steal readers’ hearts, Bound to the Warrior Knight is another stellar read by Ella Matthews.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2023Adela marries Benedictus Monceaux for convenience and power. Escaping from the influence of her father, Adela is willing to change her views regarding herself and to be a helpful wife to Benedictus.
This is a well-written, emotional book. I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Adela and Benedictus and the deep feelings between them. Great chemistry. Two halves who made each other whole. This is truly a gem of a book and I highly recommend it. Well done.
