- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2014Jaime has finally found her man and in a dream no less.
Oh my stars what an awesome book this was. I just finished reading it and as I type this I am still smiling like a fool....*happy sigh*
Jaime has been lonely for a while and watching all of her friends find their mates has not been easy for her. She is happy for them of course but she just wishes that her time was like now.
Devlin O'Shea is a dreamwalker and as we found out he is also Fallon's older brother. Devlin comes to Jamie in a dream and well even though it is a dream a connection is forged and he is hooked.
This is by far my favorite in the series. I have loved all of them but seeing Jaime and Devlin have their happily ever after was beautiful.
Action, drama, suspense, hot spicy love scenes, laughter, redemption, hope, romance, love and more love. I loved seeing everyone in Edenton come together and fight the evil chasing one of their own. This was again an amazing read that once you start you will not stop until you are finished. Well done Ms.Brandy you ROCK!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2014This is an extremely emotional book, at least for me. I found parts hard to read. It was a very good book, but it is heavy. The characters are great and it is nice to see them get their happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2015I love this series and the world building that takes place as we move from one story to the next. Devlin is such a tortured soul, a kind and gentle healer who’s been imprisoned and emotionally tortured by truly evil creatures. In Jamie he has found his soul mate and she hers. Of course it wouldn’t be Edenton if all that evil didn’t follow him to town. Once again the “Others” that we’ve come to know and love band together to fight, with Fallon (my personal favorite) leading the way.
This story brings back some people long thought to be dead, and others that were supposed to be safely locked away (which goes to prove that the only good villain is a dead one, otherwise they keep coming back). Families are reunited and once again in the end the good guys win. I can’t wait until the next installment.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2014This is Jamie and Devlin's book. Devlin is Fallon's brother who she was not aware of. He is a dream walker and is pulled to Jamie in a dream. Needing to quench his curiosity to meet his dream girl and see his sister at least once, he decides to make a quick trip to Edenton and then disappear into hiding from the Dales.
When Jamie and Devlin mate, leaving is not so easy. Can Fallon and Devlin undo the mistakes their parents made? Brady's past comes back to haunt him amidst an announcement of new life!
One of the best ones yet! Love this series! Love this author!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2014Breaking Free captured me with Devlin’s dark past and Jamie’s need for him to stay with her. Brandy River’s characters are intriguing on their own and the community she created is even better. Breaking Free is a great story that has it all; love, hatred, battle, and the struggle of acceptance for who you truly are. I enjoyed reading Breaking Free. It wasn’t until after I read Breaking Free that I realized there are three other books before it. As a result of this, I felt lost at times but Rivers did a good job of explaining some of the backgrounds of her characters which helped me move past my confusion. I think that if I go back and read the other three books, I will enjoy Breaking Free even more.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2014This one took me a bit to get into. While I already knew Jamie, and was happy to see her find her mate, Devlin was a totally new character. I love how Ms. Rivers tied him into the story, and the family of Edenton, though. A lot is concluded in this book, but more is opened up, as well. I can't wait to see where things go in the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2014Others of Edenton continues to be an excellent series that leaves you anxiously awaiting the next release. From book one through book four the author keeps the reader caring what happens to the characters. I found the spin off, Others of Seattle, just as interesting of a series. I like that both series are running at the same time. For people who enjoy paranormal romance this is a great series that will draw you in to the world Brandy L Rivers has created and leave you wanting to return when you reach the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2014I really enjoyed the story line and the characters in this book. Devlin is just so damn sweet. The chemistry with him and Jamie is off the hook. I would recommend this book as a good, awesome read. Recommend to read all the others in the stereo to get the full picture of this loving , stick like glue, family in Edenton. Thanks for another good book, Brandy.m

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Read!
This is the forth book in the Others of Edenton series. I really enjoyed it!
Jamie is a wonderful character. I really liked her. She is a werewolf with the gift of empathy and can sense the emotions of those around her. She is also the sister of Jess, who is married to the Alpha of the Edenton pack, Slater. When she meets a stranger in a dream, she is instantly drawn to him and the emotions he invokes in her. Can she convince him to stand and fight, when danger threatens to tear them apart?
Devlin is also a wonderful character. Unfortunately, I didn't have an immediate connection with him, but as I got to know him better I found myself liking him. He is a druid with the ability to heal and visit peoples dreams. After escaping from being held captive by the Dales, he finds himself intrigued by the werewolf whose dream he'd walked into. Unable to resist visiting Edenton to see his long lost sister, as well as the werewolf of his dreams, he will have to find the courage to face the danger that follows him.
I have been wanting to continue reading this series for quite some time. I started reading this story and was quickly hooked. I found myself thrust back into the lives of those living in Edenton. The story is told mostly through the eyes of Devlin and Jamie, though other characters have a say too. This gave me the ability to see what they were thinking or feeling. It was wonderful to meet the residents of Edenton again, they felt like old friends. The characters themselves feel lifelike and likable, though I love to hate De Marco and Malachi. They are the evil vampires/shadowstalkers that forced Devlin to do their bidding.
I must admit that the time hop in the beginning of the book confused me at first, but as the story unfolded, it began to make more sense. Devlin has not had an easy life, having been on the run for most of it, along with his father, Declan. However, as the story progressed, I noticed a change in him. I love it when the characters evolve on the page; I also love flawed characters, they come alive on the page.
There's a lot of heat between the main protagonists and it fairly sizzles on the page. There is also a lot of action in this book, with a big fight scene near the end, as well as a huge emotional rollercoaster ride as secrets are revealed and lives are changed. I wasn't surprised about the identity of Devlin's sister though. I was, however, extremely disappointed to reach the end of the book. It felt like I'd only just started reading and then it finished! But, having said that, I raced through the pages as I was completely gripped by the story. Though, I did feel that this story was not as good as the previous book and the fight scene felt a little rushed. Nevertheless, I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Mending Scars, as soon as possible.
Brandy L. Rivers has written an entertaining paranormal romance series. I love her fast paced writing style, and the flow is wonderful. Her characters are lifelike and likable. With her ability to write in both the paranormal and contemporary romance genres, she is one of my go to authors when I'm in the mood for a sexy read.
Due to explicit scenes of a sexual nature, as well as use of bad language, I do not recommend this book to readers under the age of 18. However, I do recommend this book if you love hot erotic paranormal romances full of sexy men and determined women. - Lynn Worton

3.0 out of 5 stars #breakingfree
I loved the story line of this book, the beginning was really intriguing but it just went down hill from there I constantly found myself skipping pages. But I would recommend for those who read the 'Others of Edenton' series.
