Breathe My Name (Welcome Boulevard Book 2) Kindle Edition
Life is pretty good for Clove; he’s miles away from where he was a year ago. He has a roof over his head, food in his stomach, safety, security—even a job. And nothing means more to him than pleasing his boss…nothing. He wants Marcel, though the man is way out of his league. If Clove can’t have Marcel’s heart, he wants to earn his respect, and when he receives his first solo task, he is ready. At least until the mission results in a dead body.
The moment Marcel lays eyes on Clove, he’s consumed by the need to be with him in every way. So he brings him into the fold, offering him employment, in the hopes that it will be enough. But when a simple errand yields murder, missing money, and criminal powerhouses out for destruction, Marcel realizes he will do anything to keep Clove alive…despite the fact that he clearly has a death wish.
Clove and Marcel are thrown together on a quest for answers. As dangerous as they think it’ll be, it’s far worse. With bullets flying, lives in the balance, and a future unknown, Marcel and Clove must face their feelings for one another. Tumbling into love isn’t easy, especially in their line of work, but they finally have what they want, and nothing in this world will stop them from keeping it.

Breathe My Name is book two in the Welcome Boulevard series. It does not follow a story arc and can be read as a standalone. Characters from book one, They Call Him Levity, are incorporated into this story, if that is important to you check out the first book in the series…I mean, Levity is pretty fabulous.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2023I was very excited to see Book 2 in the Welcome Boulevard series. I loved Book 1 with Levity and Sal. In that book we saw clues that Marcel and Clove were attracted to each other, so I was looking forward to see how their relationship would develop. I absolutely adore Clove, and I don't appear to be alone in this feeling. Clove is one of the most caring and kind characters I've read. After everything that he has seen and experienced, it wouldn't be surprising if he was jaded, but he is compassionate and often puts others above himself. I think that's one reason Marcel is so drawn to him.
The action starts quickly in this one. Clove and Marcel are sent to bring in a woman accused of stealing money/extortion pictures. They work well together and Clove has a lot to offer this mission. His charming personality and street smarts often lead these two where they need to go. The mission was really interesting and we meet all sorts of new crime families/groups. I also loved the set-up for the next book between Vander (FBI agent) and Luke (member of Sal's security/mafia family). I always love a good law enforcement/mafia book.
The romance between Clove and Marcel was well done as well. For as long as these two have known each other, it almost felt slow burn. Everyone knew these two cared about each other, but it took them awhile to act on it.
Oh! We also got to learn what Levity's and Clove's real names were in this one. I wasn't sure if we would, but it was such a cute moment.
All in all, a perfect addition to this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2023The plot is complex and has twists and turn. I was a bit confused because it started with clove appearing very flustered and not dealing with the police and a dead body well. But then he was making all sorts of breakthroughs and had all sorts of bright ideas. And he easily took down George, a former seal? Competence is very sexy but by that point it was hard to believe. But overall a good read
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2023Fun series. This author just seems to be getting better and better. Clove was such a sweet character yet he was brave and smart and willing to sacrifice himself for others. I also liked Marcel and found it cute that such a tough man was afraid to approach Clove romantically. The action and intrigue were intense enough for me to make the whole story enjoyable. I do agree with another reviewer and think the series is much better in order, though. I'm hoping the next story with be for Luke and Vander. They seem like such an unlikely pair and that sparks will fly.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2023I truly enjoyed Breathe My Name, Clove and Marcel's story. Terrific characters, fast moving and heartfelt. Far be it from me to argue with the author (one of my favorites!), but I really don't think this should be read as a stand alone book. Book one They Call Me Levity, which is also a wonderful book, lays the whole framework for Clove and Marcel's story. Do yourself a favor and read book 1 first!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2023Romantic mafioso seems an oxymoron until you’re introduced to one. Or two. This is a suspenseful story spanning the life and death situations a mafiosi can experience in a day. Sexual energy powers alliances and opens doors to lifetime alliances.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2023Book 2 threads in nicely with Book 1. And it seems there is room for Book 3. I’m liking the sexy vibes between the lawman and Sal’s “associate”. Love how the two street urchins still have each other’s backs.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2023Breathe My Name is the second book in the Welcome Boulevard series by Davidson king. The first book was They Call Him Levity. I enjoyed Breathe My Name. Two of the side characters, not the main characters, from the first book, were Clove and Marcel. Marcel is the right-hand man of Sal the mafia boss. Clove is Levity's best friend. Clove and Levity are similar to fighters standing back to back. They take care of each other, fight for each other, and want all the best for each other. Clove has had a thing for Marcel from the beginning. But being homeless and often living on the streets he did not think Marcel was within his reach. Clove doesn’t wear thousand-dollar suits like Marcel. Marcel on the other hand has been captivated by Clove since the first time he saw him. But he feels a responsibility to his boss not to do anything to mess up the business. So it takes a while for Marcel and Clove to finally act on their attraction for each other. It also takes a little meddling. But when they do it is amazing. If you enjoy a good romance with opposites attract and a little bit of possessive protection, you will enjoy Breathe My Name.
I received an advance review copy from the author. I read it and wrote an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2023Ms. King never ceases to amaze with her word wizardry: the characters, the slightly tied together story line in the series, the hotness factor scorching the pages .....excellent, as always.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Stars A Great Book
A great second book for the Welcome Boulevard Series. This can be read as a standalone and includes the characters from Book 1 with Levity.
Clove was on his first job from his boss, Marcel, finding a body was not what he was expecting and panicking, he called Levity. Clove was an assistant/ money collector that was once living on the streets.
Boundaries between boss and employee needs to be kept until words with his friend and dramas happening things change for Marcel.
Ella aka Jennifer, was the lady caught up in it all supposedly killing her boyfriend and running with a lot of money.
What they find is a whole lot of complications in a puzzle of money and information.
A great book to read, I loved the first book, and this one is another fantastic story of mystery and romance. Both characters' povs are included, along with some sexy scenes and funny moments.
A mystery unravels, but so do the dangers of who to trust with some twists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect blend of crime and romance
A great continuation of the Welcome Boulevard Series. I enjoy the blended genre of crime and romance and this book gets the balance perfect. You’re pulled through the story at pace wondering when the next twist is coming whilst rooting for the MCs to get their happily ever after. Do they succeed? You’ll have to read the book! Can’t wait to read the next instalment of this series. An easy five stars for me.

🌶️🌶️/5.
I had a great time with this as is every time I read a Davidson’s book.
I loved Clove and Marcel. Clove is such a sweet soul. I also loved seeing Sal and Levity.
I honestly can’t wait for Luke and the fbi guy, Vandall ( I think 😅). It seems like it’s gonna be an interesting one and we know already that Luke is smitten so I can’t wait!
