Bury Me Not (Rainbow Ranch Mysteries Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 13 ratings

Music, merriment, and murder.
After the dude ranch’s successful tryout with a small group of visitors, it’s now time to put the staff, and Lilliana MacAlistair, their manager, to the test. Next on the schedule is a weeklong old time music workshop, which concludes with a music festival open to the public.

The retired librarian is more than a little nervous about seeing the challenging event through to the end, but she knows she can count her friends from the Rainbow Ranch Retirement Home to do their part.

She’s not quite so sure about the musicians.

Just when she thinks she’ll pull the festival off, she finds Jack Kendall, the star of the show, dead in the bedroom of the owner’s apartment. With signs that he hadn’t been there alone.

But the show must go on, even while the county sheriff is investigating a possible crime.

Will they find out what happened to the headliner? And will Lilliana be able to discover whodunit before all of the suspects leave Rainbow Ranch?

I love stories.

One of my earliest memories is of sitting next to my mother as she read Grimms Fairy Tales to me. I loved those stories so much, I asked her to teach me how to read so I could read them myself.

I wrote my first story in kindergarten. It was a series of pictures, and after school, my mother wrote the words under each one. I thought I was in heaven when I had to hand in a short story every Friday in sixth grade.

Later on, I didn’t write at all. I was happy in my job as a computer programmer.

Until 9/11.

After the initial shock, I was thinking about how all those people had gone to work or gotten on a plane, never imagining it would be their last day alive. What might they regret if they had?

More importantly, what would I regret not doing if my life came to an end tomorrow? One of my answers was writing a novel. I vowed to do that now.

Twenty years later, I’ve written a lot more than one novel. Now that I’m retired from the day job, I’m finally doing what I wanted to do all along: write mysteries in sunny Arizona while my two cats nap nearby.

Characters that hold your interest. Suspenseful without being scary. I like the setting and the puzzles. I hope the series keeps going. Gotta say the retirement home friends seem like my friends.

How could you not enjoy a cozy mystery set on a Dude Ranch? Lilliana has even become an accomplished horsewoman. Rainbow Ranch is hosting their first major shindig with old time music and celebrities. One will die and suspects are not in short supply. A group of friends from the Rainbow Ranch Retirement Home have come to assist Lilliana and Christopher in running the shindig. So we are reintroduced to some old friends from the African Violet Mysteries. In this edition we take a horseback ride to visit an old mine. Just when you think you know the identity of the perpetrator, a new piece of information or evidence is found and they lead you in a different direction. As has become the norm, Lilliana nabs the murderer as all of the guests are leaving..
