Let me get this out of the way first – the title of the book has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. A girl has an accident (which may or may not have been an accident) and when she comes out of her coma a year later, she can see auras around people. Fair enough.
Except that’s all that happens. She gets a basic sense of what auras might mean, amd uses it for anything significant, it never has an impact on the plot – so why bother?
Because there IS a plot, and there is some twisting of events. Now the girl is one of the heroine idiots who blunders into things, who has runs of luck that if taken to a lottery sales point or a racetrack would make her rich. On the other hand, the people around her aren’t much better, so the reality/believability bar is set pretty low. In spite of that, there are moments when this is great fun and I was truly surprised and that doesn’t happen often.

This is a great book. I loved it very much. The twist towards the end is surprising to say the least. I was not expecting it. I read this in one sitting! I enjoyed the parts where she could see people's auras. Fascinating.

Annalise Becker wakes from an eleven month coma with the ability to sense a person’s aura. After coming out of her coma, she then is being hunted by a psychopathic killer and is accused of a crime she can’t remember. Is she the killer of an innocent man? This was a good read for me though it took me awhile to get into it. The characters were well-fleshed out and there are a few twists in the story-line. Not an outstanding read but just in the middle.

An engaging read. Knowing people who have been in comas for a long while, it is interesting to read stories including this experience. I like the way Richard wove the threads of the story enticing the reader to conclude that once character was responsible for the actions and then BAM a twist.. Well done Richard, kept me guessing... I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Coming out of coma, Annalise Becker cannot recall the circumstances of her accident. Mysterious happenings surround her awakening as well as her past. Then a serial killer with no qualms latches onto her predicament. Throw in a sister who is hiding something, suspicious policemen, a devious boyfriend and accelerating events and you have a spell-binding thriller which will have you out-guessing yourself.
An action-packed mystery with a neat surprise which will keep you reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay story with a totally uninspired and derivative ending.

Started out with an intriguing premise but I thought the entire 'aura' aspect of the book was totally irrelevant, just a gimmick that had no purpose except to pique the reader's curiosity and give you a false sense of character uniqueness. The story held my attention until around the 80% mark. When the villain and the motive are revealed, what follows is a rehashed blueprint of a zillion other stories; just change the names and cut and paste. Such a let down. Was waiting for a twist but there wasn't one.

This is an interesting premise. After an accident Annalise awake from a coma with little memory. Something bad has happened as there is a guard outside her door and no one will talk to her. She has a new skill, the ability to sense someone's aura. She will need to use this to get to the truth.

Well written and fast paced, this was a cracking read.
