    This is a stunning follow up by Claire Marta. Even having read the first book, I still was unprepared for the sheer volume of twists the author used. From the first words to the last, I could not stop.

    The character development was solid. Claire Marta definitely puts time and effort into her characters. The world building was so detailed that everything felt intense, even when I wanted to cringe away.

    I love authors who are comfortable going darker. Claire Marta delved into it and created a story that was confident in its darkness. It is an emotionally captivating book and one that has blown me away.

    This is the second book in the Cease Fire Series and it didn’t disappoint! First I have to admit to binge reading these books! I could not put them down- which meant adulting went out the window and sleep? Meh who needs sleep?
    The plot in this is so deliciously twisted, it weaves in and around itself like a snake hunting prey. The author has done an amazing job with the plot and the characters are equally fantastic!
    Mavi truly comes into her own in this book, and her awakening is something you won’t want to miss.
    As for Max? What can be said except he truly meets his match!

    I found this author on IG & now I’m hooked. The dynamics were interesting to say the least. There were some steamy scenes and Mavi was the best heroine I’ve come across thus far. I dislike the damsels disguised as a heroine, so this was refreshing to have a bad*** assassin that doesn’t like to “feel” out loud. Great read!

    This second entry into the series was seriously twisted and so sexy. I don't read a lot of very dark fantasy but this story just pulled me in and dragged me along for a roller coaster ride of ups, downs, twists, and turns. As you read, you think you've got it all figured out, but then something happens and you're left guessing again. Mavi is still borderline psychotic in all the best ways and Lucifer is, well, Lucifer. I was a little disappointed not to see much of Gabriel in this second book, but considering the way the story played out, it's understandable. I would love to get a standalone set in this world with Gabriel and am so excited to get one for Raziel.

    They say a second book in a series can make or break the set, and I have to say, I enjoyed The Devil's Plaything even more than book one. It kept me up all night, but it was worth it because the story was AMAZING. I'm still not sure if I love or hate Lucifer, which is always fun (to me, anyway).

    I love a book that keeps me thinking about it for hours, days, even weeks, after I'm finished, and this is definitely one of those stories. I love how strong Mavi is, that she doesn't rely on anyone else to help her (even when in a sensitive condition, she's still saving other people), and that she's able to stand up to the devil himself without flinching (mostly). And the end was fantastic.

    Highly recommend to lovers of dark paranormal romance.

    This is by far one of my favorite series EVER! The Devils Plaything pulls you in from the first line. Warnings... This book will leave you breathless. It will make you want to be an assassin and you will totally fall in love with Max! Nobody writes a story as well as Marta. She pulls you in with her words and transports you into a world unlike any other.

    Breathtaking, incredible,astounding & even at times magnificent , this last book in the Ceasefire series is all of those & more. Every time i thought i had a grip on this story & knew who was the good/bad guys Claire Marta threw a spanner in the works & made me re-think everything , i went from jaw dropping shock at the first few chapters to almost collapsing from holding my breath in the last few just waiting to see what was round the corner next for Mavi , as an avid paranormal reader this book ticks all the boxes & even some boxes i didn't know i wanted ticking. This book is a fast paced ride that you won't want to put down & i'm so glad we are getting Raziel's story because these are characters you just don't want to say goodbye to.

    I absolutely loved The Devil You Know.
    So I expected this book to carry on from the last one. But oh no. It went off on a different tack and pulled me in even quicker than the first one did!
    I absolutely LOVE Mavi and "Max". This tale had even more twists, turns and shenanigans that the first did. And Max was even hotter - if that's possible!
