About the authors
Lynn Hallbrooks wears multiple hats: content creator, author (fiction and non-fiction), reader, and supporter of fellow authors to name a few. All the books written in collaboration with David McKoy (may he rest in peace) and on her own are published under the Call Sign Wrecking Crew, LLC (CSWCLLC) umbrella. During her day job, Lynn combines her talent for content creation with her desire to help others succeed.
When Lynn isn't creating content, figuring out words for her next book, or wrangling cats, she can be found reading indie author works, watching television, or creating something yummy in the kitchen.
David McKoy is a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, Magna Cum Laude.
David developed Call Sign: Wrecking Crew (Storm Warning) from ruminations that began over 10 years before the actual writing process took place. The scary part was that some of his futuristic predictions were coming true before the book ever went to the publisher. David attributed his inspirations to a combination of following the works of Soldier of Fortune magazine, Glenn Beck, and Richard Marcinko.
David believes wholeheartedly in the Founding Fathers and the freedoms they gave us. Like them, David believes in the Heavenly Father. David has over 35 years in the security field starting in the U.S. Navy and continuing into his civilian life thus preferring to stay out of the public limelight as much as possible. David is also a member of an American Legion Post as well as the NRA.
David incorporates his beliefs, affiliations, and real life experiences into his storylines. He sends the hand written notes to Lynn Hallbrooks who puts the words together in the proper format. Together they thresh out the chaff from the wheat until it is golden, that's what makes them a dynamic writing duo.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2016this is a fairly decent book. there is a lot if military jargon, but I like to learn new things, so it wasn't a problem for me. The book does have a dictionary at the back to help make sense of the jargon.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2017I didn’t realize that this book was a sequel to Call Sign: Wrecking Crew (Storm Warning.) I would recommend reading the books in order as I found some things confusing when starting with the second book.
In this book a security firm made up of ex-military mercenaries is hired by the president in the aftermath of a devastating attack on U. S. soil to locate and apprehend the suspect of the attack.
As the firm prepares to and starts the mission, it gets hard to put down. I enjoyed how the authors mixed the personal lives of the characters in the story line. If you’re a fan of fast paced action and adventure, you’ll enjoy this series.
The major drawbacks were there were a lot of characters and keeping them straight was difficult at times and there was too much unnecessary sexual content.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2016This is a good book. Sit, relax and read. I think you'll like it. I did.
This book, Call Sign: Wrecking Crew (Wings of Eagles) is a sequel to Call Sign: Wrecking Crew (Storm Warning.) Since many characters and the plot carry over from Storm Warning directly to Wings of Eagles, I would suggest that the first book be read prior to tackling Wings of Eagles. Fortunately, this is what I did.
Wings of Eagles is 328 pages, as opposed to the much longer Storm Warning which is 728 pages, twice the length. In my review of Storm Warning I commented on writing "style" saying that the presence of the narrator’s point of view was often more obtrusive than I preferred. This comment is no longer true for Wings of Eagles.
Second, Wings of Eagles concerns the response to a devastating attack on U. S. soil. In the aftermath, a "high end" security firm is given the task of locating and punishing the perpetrator(s) of the attack.
To that end the security firm must form and train three teams of highly competitive and independent individuals and meld them into a unified force. All this, while obtaining weaponry and funding in a way that gives plausible deniability to the politicians who approve of and fund the operation. (The politicians themselves are vulnerable to treachery from members of a previous administration, holdovers possibly linked to the perpetrators themselves.)
The authors present the logistical planning, political distractions, weapon acquisitions and the training exercises with an eye to realism and in truly informative details. Tension mounts as difficulty after difficulty is overcome. One can learn from their narrative.
As in the first book, the good guys (women and men) in this book are warriors. The romantic relations stay firm and give some stability. Mostly though the need for cohesiveness in a unit is stressed in this story. Your buddy must have your back.
Warning.
In Wings of Eagles as in Storm Warning the authors present a clear political viewpoint that underlies their fictional narrative. If one wants a politically neutral story, this book may not be for you. Also there is some violence.
This is an enjoyable, entertaining and informative read. What's next for these authors?
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2016Great reading, terrific story. Good comparison of Presidents. Fast moving exciting episodes. A little loose with expletives, which add color but subtract a little from the enjoyment of reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2017If you like a good military and government action book you’ll absolutely love this one. Loads of action, romance, conspiracy and great characters not to mention an outstanding story line.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2016This so technical that it becomes boring very quickly
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2019This is the sequel to Call Sign: Storm Warning. I enjoyed the first enough to read the second one.
The main story line is a company run by Bill Winchester, EPSI. He is attempting to help the current president and staff rebuild the corruption they identified in the first one. Their findings would result in a global hunt for the man who wanted to be “King of the world,” Sher Lavassaney. He is enraged his son, Vice-President of the U.S., was flushed out and killed in the first book. He now plans on justifying the loss. With that plot in mind, this should have been a hard hitting story. Nope. Way too many unnecessary characters, weapon descriptions and juvenile dialogue. It reads more like a YA book than an adult thriller.
Please send this to an editor who will provide honest feedback and suggestions.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2017I totally picked up on the people who were actually the bad guys in this story. LOVED the detail and human interest as well. Let us all pray for our new President, Donald Trump, and also for his supporters and the many new voters who have 'seen the light' and voted AGAINST 'more of the same' Progressive Socialism. Even with the Liberal Left controlling most of the media, the schools and the Hollywood 'Elite', we CAN overcome them if we have faith and believe in our Constitution.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good thriller
Good read .
Only problem I had was that there were too many people being called by very similar initials. Took me till half-way through the book to work out who was who. Apart from that it was fast moving and exciting.
